The most important thing that alot of people don't get is that: you can play any game you want, you can react to any game, video on youtube you want, you can play chess, you can do vlogs, cooking etc BUT the most important thing that will keep people going to your channel and staying and connecting with them is YOUR PERSONALITY - that always should be the main factor - so no matter what you do , reacto to, play, stream etc etc your PERSONALITY is always the 99% of your success
Not only that, you need a personal (business) project, or an idea that is ONLY yours, like "I'm making a lil videogame" "I'm starting to learn something and I can show you my journey". If you are a gamer/reacter whatever you want, but you do just that, is not enough to engage people.
@@sertoonss I mean if you just play a game without any reactions, commentary or anything that is entertaining then yup. If you have great personality, humor or you are entertaining with your character, charisma etc then you good
New gaming channel here. Disabled vet who lost his job so I turned to gaming for stress and ptsd relief. Using YT to capture my unadulterated, genuine experience along the way. Let’s go guys and gals. We got this.
I just hit 11,100 subscriber today on the first day of 2025, I made this channel as a hobby and over the years even when the channel is much smaller I've been experiencing great stuff. I get a lot of acknowledgement from consumers, community and even brands and I get sent neat toys to play with and make content with, many of which I get to keep. While I'm not able to sustain myself with my RUclips income yet, I've experienced things that many could only dream of and I'm grateful for that.
I don’t think it’s true the let’s play content is dead. I think it’s just that you need one of three things to have a successful let’s play: -really engaging personality -out of the ordinary gameplay -extraordinary editing/storytelling
Yeah. I also think, in order for a channel to be successful, you can't just follow some formulas as VidIQ suggests. Not anymore. If everything VidIQ said were true, then wouldn't most of their audience be successful by now?
Never going to start a Gaming Channel but I have been gaming since the Release of the Original Unreal Tournament and Grand Theft Auto. In fact, I still run those games on a Old Windows Machine that still runs and has a Pentium II processor. Gaming channels have to be one of the most competitive spaces out there. So good luck to anyone diving down that deep Rabbit Hole.
yeah bro its hard i made a gaming channel today and posted for the first time i was expecting no views but still hurts when u get none, especially when u edit alot but ima keep pushing wish me luck gang
If you are still thinking about starting or not, do it asap. My channel started very slow but it started gaining traction last year and I plan to grow even bigger this year. You can do it guys, don't give up!
New gaming channel here! Was honestly looking forward to a video like this to try to learn as much as I can. I'm a bartender and I love video games, so I combine the two with 'let's play' gamestyle and mixing cocktails, but I'm honestly just having a great time. I've told myself time and time again, it doesn't matter about the subs or views, I'm making something I love, and I have a fun time doing it so don't even care. Love your stuff VidIQ!
I agree with a lot that was said here. Deff intros need to be hooky and straight to the point. I seen some gaming channels where the creator talked for 6 mins about their backstory and such. It wasn’t a live stream just a gameplay but a 6 minute intro is way to long lol. Just a gripe I have 😂. Anyway good luck to us gaming channels! Happy New Year to yall too
I dont know man… that interview at the end sounded as if he said: Honestly if its just a hobby go for it, if youre teying to make a business out of a gaming channel though… theres a lot of competition…
Thank you for posting another video about this ! I’m building a gaming channel myself right now, it’s growing but I know that I can do better ! Thank you always for helping others !

Not a gaming channel myself but these are some great tips I can apply to my channel. Plus I haven't watch much gaming channel content in a while, so it's probably a sign for me to discover new gaming creators here on RUclips!
I started my faceless Minecraft channel a little over a year ago and now I've gotten monetized with 700k views on my most popular video. Soon I will be doing this for a living and it's partially thanks to VidIQ!
Been a chef for 15 years but my passion was always video games so i quit my job and started learning editing. Started a gaming channel with my other chef buddies. Just uploaded our fist episode and we are loving it and having so much fun! Hang in there everyone We can do it! thanks for the advice!
I've been doing gaming for years on my channel finally breached 1k subs and almost reached 2k in 2024, but it's pretty much leveled and is climbing very slowly now and has been the past few months, sometimes it's just a matter of whether RUclips chooses to push your content if you do playthroughs as a small youtuber as you have no reach compared to bigger channels, most subs come from those who make guides in my experience
@SportsTymeStories-h8x absolutely agree likes and comments and views are supposed to be important aswell as watch time I had a vid with over 500 views and a 99% like to view ratio within a few hours and good watch time it never went anywhere yet I've had a video with barely any views and likes or comments get pushed out there and it was nothing special of an episode yet RUclips pushed it soo much it really doesn't make sense sometimes
Made my own youtube gaming channel recently. N gotta say it's tough but fingers cross hope I succeed. Wishing other new gaming channels the best keep on going guys never give up.
I think the most hardest thing is to build a community with a game that's either not really popular or just so much popular that u get overshadowed a lot
You guys got this keep going, remember you are always unique so that’s what you bring different to the table than anybody else does on this platform and in this world
Loved this video. It's so refreshing to know that RUclips success comes from being real with your personality, not chasing the trends. Thanks for reminding me to focus on content I am proud of over views or subscribers. I was starting to lost sight of that with how many videos were telling me I was doing 'youtube wrong'
I used to follow gaming trends on my channel, but I didn't enjoy doing that. Now I play what I want and post what I want. Just stay consistent and keep posting! Good luck in 2025!
just started a twitch / youtube channel this past couple weeks. i lost multiple jobs due to ongoing health issues from covid but i enjoy gaming and making these videos is actually pretty fun! ive always wanted to be a health and gym influencer and personal trainer/nutritionist and even train boxing but all that is long gone. i think ive found my alternative🤞🏼

Great Video, Appreciate the jewels and will apply the tips to my channel as I will have a playlist for my gaming videos. Enjoyed how you mentioned that a “Niche” is not mandatory and it is okay to branch out and grow
If I'm being honest, this channel helped me learn what I'm doing wrong as a gaming channel. Sure I have 147 subs and haven't moved the scale yet but they helped me spark an idea this week that pushed me to upload an unique video as we speak. I'm really looking forward to exponentially growing this year and I hope you all learn and grow as well!💯
I started my channel a few years ago, i made remixes etc. But i always wanted to make gaming content, now i switched 2 months ago to a fully gaming channel! Soon im going to make content with face-cam! wish me luck!
I am starting a gaming channel this year (2025), just finished recording my first video and im gonna post it in a bit, but honestly im kind of nervous to be a new RUclipsr since there is lots and lots of channels and I dont know how im going to make my path, Im trying my best to record and upload videos but im having difficulty balancing RUclips and the rest of my life. So, im hoping to start and get monetized this yr (hopefully)...
For the question about why episode one gets the most views is probably because you have to watch the episode prior, meaning there is a smaller and smaller audience for each episode made
My goal is to become a channel with a friendly group aspect similar to the sidemen where it can make content irl and in games where it’s just good vibes all around but I’m not to familiar with how to start and maintain a consistent flow of videos with only two of us with barely any tools and if anybody has some tips on something to try or start on please reply to this comment🙏🙏
That’s an awesome goal! Here are some tips to help you start: Simple Content: Start with fun challenges, reaction videos, or mini-games-keep it light and enjoyable. Consistency: Post once a week or as often as you can manage. Basic Tools: Use your phone for IRL videos and free tools like OBS for gaming. Chemistry: Highlight your dynamic-it’ll make viewers feel like part of the group. Engage: Reply to comments, ask for ideas, and collaborate with others to grow. Learn Editing: Use free tools like CapCut or DaVinci Resolve to polish your videos.
The most important thing is to just START. Don't think about it to much because you will waste time. Next time you jump in a game you enjoy start the stream too.
Honestly love the spiffing Brit example because well relevant to the name I do frequently break games and I will be focusing on actually uploading breaking Roblox games how to tutorials I feel like it's possible to work as Roblox is a massive game full of experiences love the vid bro
As a newer gaming channel this is a very good video that definitely could help us smaller channels grow and learn from our old content and that we all can achieve what we want. I believe in all of you whether you're in the gaming niche or something else.
Gosh this video honestly speaks to me, just started out and I feel you saved me from falling into the view/impression rabbit hole. Legit appreciate that and all the tips, amazing work!
I actually grew a lot more last year than my first year. In my first year I didn't even reach 100 subs and now I have around 370. And videos performed better when I learned how to make them better and do better thumbnails and titles. Hopefully this year I'll be able to grow even more!
Just started😊 got doing shorts about a month ago & want to start dropping actuals vids along with streaming! Its pretty enjoyable and fun to get on the grind!!
my ultimate goal or goals for my channel is to one, entertain with the purpose to educate, and two, to use this platform as a form of an archive to look back on my work as if its a creative arts portfolio i say educate but not in the typical tutorial fashion, i want to make content that can educate but in way that a viewer won't have to worry about the small things
07:40 Hey this is a really good inspiration for me. Often times I do worry about my views and comments and likes 😅 You are right though, space to breathe and be me is needed. At the end of the day, if people are watching, it's because they want to and I owe it to them and myself to be the best that I can. Thank you for this reminder ❤ It was much needed
I am going to be honest though, just saying make good content isn’t very specific. I love the video but quality is extremely subjective, there’s so many nuances that go into making something great. Overtime though I believe that we all get better the more we create! Can we get a video that actually shows ways of making better content and actionable steps we can take to get there ? I appreciate you! Thank y’all again !
Thanks for the video! I started a gaming channel ages ago, took too much advice from lots of other different RUclipsrs and gave up for a while due to analysis paralysis. I only started making proper progress again when I aimed at making videos which i wanted to watch and also enjoyed learning how to make. Thanks vidiq for the top tips.
i had around 8 subs last january, now, a year later i have 76, its not a big number but what makes me keep going is the fact that i was able to almost 10x my subscriber count in a year(i didnt post frequently either). So now that i have 76 im hoping that i can 10x it again just like i did last year.
I launched my channel in December and uploaded my latest video yesterday, but it's not performing as well as I'd hoped. However, I've been able to improve and grow, thanks to channels like this one. I wish everyone the best of luck in their channel growth for 2025!
I've come to the conclusion that you either need to be really entertaining with mad editing skills, do glitches or get a game early to do well from day one otherwise probably going to be real challenge. Just my opinion for what it's worth.
I would love to do this as a business one day. It was discouraging to hear his thoughts on let's play. I started doing this as a way to keep playing video games and me not think it's a waste of time (It's how I'm wired, I can't help it). Now I'm wondering if I should just stream playthroughs and maybe bring a different sort of long form content to the channel. Very insightful, but it's sent my brain on a journey with no direction. I'm also probably overthinking it.
All that matters is actually starting your channel. Do research and make the channel about stuff you actually are passionate about and the subs will follow. Im struggling with my channel but ill get there soon
My first video comes out tomorrow! I do have previous experience on RUclips with a gaming channel for a different game that I got up to 1.3k subscribers, but that game no longer has enough demand for content. I’m starting this new one with my newfound knowledge of RUclips and I’m very optimistic. If anyone sees this, wish me luck! Good luck to everyone in 2025, see you at the top!
Recently I reached out to a similar creator and we gave each other a shoutout. Now we’re in talks about a collab on the works of Antione priore, when doing RUclips remember lord sugars rule for success. Some days doing backbone work, editing, script writing. Then some looking for new opportunities. Good luck folks.
As a small gaming channel this is incredibly important stuff for me to hear. I'm on the road to 1k just after 7 months. My goal for 2025 is to hit 2K. That seems like a lot but when I had just 200 subscribers I had my first viral video, with only 10 videos up at the time. It got over 30K views and it's still growing. I've gained over 500 subscribers from that and that boosted my channel insanely!! Don't give up anything anymore anyone. I wanted to make people laugh with funny content and I'm doing that. Keep going

New small channel Girls Frontline 2: EXILIUM
Just started my channel on movie quiz yesterday and your video is motivating me to start a gaming channel as well lol
With 20+ years of gaming experience, I decided in late 2024 to start this channel!
Looking forward to what 2025 will bring to it :))
I hit 1.1 k subs in laast year. I'm happy that i made it. Bt i want to make it even better this year and I'm going to work for it
I would love to do this as a business one day.
Video came out right on time for my channel!😊
All that matters is actually starting your channel. Do research and make the channel about stuff you actually are passionate about and the subs will follow. Im struggling with my channel but ill get there soon
My first video comes out tomorrow! I do have previous experience on RUclips with a gaming channel for a different game that I got up to 1.3k subscribers, but that game no longer has enough demand for content. I’m starting this new one with my newfound knowledge of RUclips and I’m very optimistic. If anyone sees this, wish me luck! Good luck to everyone in 2025, see you at the top!
happy new year everyone!
Just started a few days ago. Honestly their is to much information out there, its hard to see forest with all these trees 😩
Ive been trying for 4 years and still no success i did however learn alot of things such as editting and spelling properly 😎

@PeridotYT_BS ty
I was starting a tech channel, reviewing the Apple TV.
… and then somehow, I'm playing Crossy Road. 😄
Thank you for such a great video as always, much love to all of you! :D
I’d love to watch the full interview please :) 🙏
I liked this video 👍✅
Thanks This has been Really Helpful in Growing my Gaming Channel.
Starting 2025 off with 38 subscribers. I’ll come back to this at the end of the year to see how far I’ve come!
"ahh shi here we go again"
Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Recently I reached out to a similar creator and we gave each other a shoutout.
Keep going
Happy New Year thanks for all
@@MrkiCreations Happy New Year to you as well! Hope 2025 brings you joy, success, and amazing moments!
