Thank you so much for the review!
As the game is quite niche I assumed viewers would understand the idea of the challenge (being that PvE is ok but PvP is not) as it's a tight nit community. The bones of the video are the funny roleplay Voip interactions with other players begging them not to kill me etc. Not debating you, just explaining my thought process lol. I suppose I should have gotten to the bones faster. That lack of consideration for viewers unfamiliar with the game is something I will definitely think harder on.
Nonetheless I really appreciate the feedback. I have made more guide content since and it is much less satisfying for me personally. This video came in clutch and I will get back to doing what I enjoy over what I think will perform well! I intend to use all these tips in the next video!
Also it's "Dun-Yun Rings" lol
Assuming viewers know the game and therefore assume the rules of the challenge is like a game skipping the tutorial because it assumes you've played games before.
@@KTSpeedruns that's a great way to look at it
@@dunnionrings80085perhaps “Non-PvP” or “PvP Pacifist” would be better ways to label the challenge? Still gets the same point across, but appears more “honest” to the uninitiated!
@@JimBobJoeB0bit’s not that deep. We’re not talking about a religion or a spiritual aspiration here. It’s a video game.
Omg ur more than halway to 300 subs now
Wow, thank you so much for picking my video submission! Your advice makes a lot of sense looking at my retention graph, a lot of viewers did skip ahead to just watch the second run. I will take a look to see if there's any way to trim down the first section, but this may just have to be a lesson I take with me to my next video due to the way I structured everything.
Thank you again! 😊
HI! So I want to say thank you for looking at the video!!! This might actually surprise you, but I tried something different in this video from advice from one of VidIQ's associates in eliminating the "corny" intro :) If you check any other video on our channel, we have an intro lmao!!! I definitely picked the WRONG ONE to do that on!!! HAHA!!! Love you guys!!!
EIDIT: Quick adition, our intros were a little long before and slightly cringy. In recent videos the intro is not a stopping point to talk about who is here and who isn't. It's done organically as we are starting the gameplay and feels way better placed. I encourage anyone to please go see our improvements. We love feedback and this video along with other VidIQ videos have helped immensely!
What will happen to my video if I post ai generated video without removing watermark? Will that fetch me less attention
@EtherealSpectre I'm not sure why you responded to me with that question, but I'll still answer you! :) So RUclips is changing its policies on A.I. generate content. The majority of what they are trying to eliminate is people utilizing A.I. to mislead and misdirect the viewer. If this gets out of control, it can be a very bad look for the platform as a whole. As of right now, the infrastructure isn't quite in place to deal with all of this. They will soon be implementing a "flag" in the form of a label in your comments on primarily A.I. generated content. Keep in mind a flag isn't the same as a strike. However, if you are following the community guidlines and working towards informing the audience or adding content of value, I don't think you'll have much of an issue. Just keep focusing on your analytics you have now such as proper titles, hashtags, thumbnails, and so on. Get your watch time to an optimal level, and just get better with every post. You got this!
i like the idea of different POV in the same video, but it made it a bit confusing with the quick cuts heh, ud have to look back at the cam to see whos pov it actually is, if it even changed at all, especially in gaming where quick cuts are very common for solo gameplay
so i was thinkin like maybe u can associate all the players with different certain colours, maybe related to their channel, and have those colours as borders around their clips maybe? just a quick identifier like that i thinkk wouldv made it more digestable for me personally lol nicely done either way
In this case, intro doesn’t necessarily *have* to mean a personal introduction. It could be, say, the classic “Coming up in this video…” clip of a funny/scary/exciting moment from the middle or end!
@JimBobJoeB0b OH for SURE! No arguments there. I submitted this video FOR this type of feedback. Why would I send in a video doing well for us. I want to know what to improve, not stay exactly where we are and get a "good job" pat on the back. I wish these guys would tear through our entire channel. I wish they would go from beginning to end and see what we've improved on and what needs work. I watch 4 hours of their stuff "and others" daily and am constantly going! It's the hardest hustle that exists! Lol.
Thank you so much for the review🔥 it was the first time I made a video essay, and yes, so much can be improved from it, especially the hook and packaging.
I implemented the change you're suggesting right away, and it does look so much better and more interesting than before. For the hook, I'm working on it, and I hope to keep improving day after day. Once again, thank you Dan and VidIQ for the review and advice🔥🔥🔥❤
cool
Nice video Vidiq!
I'd love to suggest a new format for gaming content guide in which you guys take a look at some of the top tier gaming channels and go through some of their videos and explain to us what they were doing right ...and how we could implement those strategies in our own content. I would love to see you guys review channels like
8-Bitryan,Ericvanwilderman, Dashiegames, jacksepticeye, markiplier, coryxkenshin etc..
Here's something that can help the Minecraft video essay: Bring the thesis into the title.
People are hooked by profound ideas. Like the essays you wrote in school, there's an argument behind what you're trying to say. If you can bring that argument/thesis into the title in a clear way, it will hook more viewers who want to know more about this new profound idea that you are presenting the community.
The title of that video essay didn't really tell me what his argument about, which is why I wouldn't have clicked on it. "You can make Minecraft better"... but how? By creating a personal challenge? By going live on Twitch to make gameplay less boring? An explicit reason would have been great in the title to attract more people.
As a JRPG lets play creator, I struggle with how to title videos and actually making a proper thumbnail for it
What are the reasons why videos have fewer impressions? This happened two days ago (now each video has impressions only 100 times)
Can you pls do more of this rewieving gaming content, it‘s very helpful
❤❤❤
Got you!
@@vidIQ Thanks
This is super interesting to watch, I mainly make tutorial/informational videos about the game Sea of Thieves. Should I go for more clicky titles or more straight to the point titles? I'm worried that if I go for more clicky titles my videos would become less searchable perhaps and I feel like that'd be the opposite of what I think would be good for this kind of content. I'm looking for some advice!
Whoa he looked terrified in the thumbnail
💀
@@vidIQ thanks for responding but it’s true
Love this video. Thank you for breaking down each pain point per video and even breaking the video into parts. :)
Always love when you guys do gaming specific videos. Good stuff and thanks for tackling both long and short form content 💯
Also great they took small channels under 1k subs! My advice would be, pick your audiance biggest struggel and come up with a 10 minute solution, blown my channel up massively
Hi vidiq! You guys should really set animation channels as a separate category in the form. then review them, bc i noticed that animation on the sidelines and are featured few times. i have participated in 20+ forms and i haven't got featured once.
You could say that for almost every single niche.
Travel, cooking, fishing.
The reason they separate gaming is when they first started out, they only had the one form. And 80% from random draws were gaming. Which is why they had to separate the categories so that other channels got a chance of a review.
There are more gaming channels on RUclips than any other niche.
Never in my life did I expect to see you struggle to pronounce Dunnionrings lol
Happens more than you think lol
I believe that first creators name is a play and mash up of Done and Onion Rings. Great video!
Do I have a gaming channel? No
Did I watch the whole thing to see if anything would apply to me? Yes (robs voice)
I think the shorts tip is huge and really love how you explained. As well as the tips for Hooks on Long Form Videos!
Looks to me like challenge and story based gaming videos do well for new gaming youtubers right now
Thanks for doing this, it was very eye opening seeing other channels through your lens! I hope I can apply this knowledge going forward
Dang. Maybe if you do a part 2 my video could get some notes 😅
Love it, Dan. You guys should do more gaming focused content. Super underrepresented area of RUclips in the education niche.
We have plenty! Check out our channel!
Dunnionrings. Like Onion Rings. But Dunnion Rings!!
Im wondering how i can improve my videos the retention rate for all my videos is all down and my intro turns everyone away but i dont know how to make it interesting for the viewer.
This did help me a lot still
I would love to see more of these reviews! I think the tips presented were all valuable regardless of what style of gaming content you create!
new gaming channel
how to select keywords and tags in specific gaming channels plz explain
I must've missed that post very interesting video and very insightful. Maybe VidIQ can do more of these gaming videos/channel review videos.
How long will it take for custom url option to appear after having all requirements?
I currently have 50 subs and im not doing well, my editing takes time and my video is one point with the thumbnail, so i dont do that title mistake.. it doesn't feel good when no one respects ur work. This video helped with some mistakes i may've done tho, so thanks
Great actionable advice - thank you!🎉
i Love this concept its really helpful and its rare to see videos helping out gaming creators specifically i hope to see more of these! Also i would love some help figuring out why my most recent speedrun video didnt do very well, i spent an insane amount of time on it. :/
most people will submit out of desperation
what gaming channels need to do is
learn how to use their tools
optimize it
and lastly improve
thats the magic ingredients
story telling and phase is a different problem but if you got it you will figure it out
if no well just another generic gaming channel thats not different from another one
For Video 7, would a "Skip ahead to 4:XX" help? Does youtube like the engagement of someone jumping to a section?
I'm not an expert, so take this with a grain of salt. From my understanding youtube doesn't care if someone skips to a section, it relies on metrics like total watch time. If your video has a higher average watch time that will contribute to youtube pushing it to more viewers. Overall I think a person is better off to try and cut out sections that might not be needed, as there might be some people that lose interest and click off regardless of chapters. Or at least this is just my impression from watching a lot of VidIQ and other youtube strategy videos.
How do I get mines reviewed🙃
those who play dark and darker understand the challenge "not killing players" but not killing any ai enemies is not doable i would still watch after that kill on the skeleton
Haven't watched the vid yet but I hope my channel is in there
Thank you 😊 ❤
I switch my channel to local language but after adding tags and discription youtube not show my video to anyone and my vudeo reach is 0 why
Please answer😢😢
This really helped me out! Thanks vidiq!!!
Thank you! Good insights!
All of that for only 7 videos wow, you really should have made this into a mini series, glad i didn't get you much monetary gain as skipped through as i knew my luck with getting auditted, its not going to happen
Once a video is viewed it'll count even if a person skips
Good Friday All! When? if are you reviewing cooking channels? I need 1
Check out our audited channels, we reviewed some cooking channels

@@vidIQ Thank You so much! That reply just got me stoked!
Awesome video, probably the best gaming tips video in this channel.
You should make this a series I would love a chance to be reviewed
is it just me but i swear when i edit my gaming videos and im done, and look back its looks so perfect, i feel it's my best video ever, but when i post it and look back after a few days, it isn't as good as i expected
Great video Dan, alot of lessons to be learned here and the real world examples really help.
bro pricked the easiest ones to criticise, pick ones that have mistakes that are harder to tell
Ojalá Algún día Coloquen Traductor de audio para nosostros los latinos
As usual, nice advice. Maybe I can take some of these advices for my upcoming contents.
Stay consistent and authentic everybody!
I have decent quality videos, but youtube doesn't push them, even tho it's pretty decent searched game, it's been 4 hours now and it has only 1 expression, can somebody help me understand what's happening?
Hey there!
I just wanted to ask if you guys could add a feature to your vidiq mobile app, so you could change your posting schedule. For example from eight videos to four videos.
Please do this for other types of channels as well
Yeah true
when you will have your own gaming channel with at least one million subs - then come back and teach how to do it
Just started my channel, not really expecting much, but seeing over 100 views w/o effort made me believe a little effort could go a long way.
Thank you VidlQ 💜🎊💛
try to review the small channels
Very interesting video thanks :D
Thanks for the video ❤
Remember, this is not only for gaming videos!
Thanks for the tips man, these videos always help me out. 😎

that's cool!!! will you do it again? 😁
Can you make a video on how to make gaming thumbnails?
The principles apply to any video with a thumbnail, keep it simple
First
Wow yet I need a pc to this!😂
Dan is the best vidIQ guy, bummed I missed out on this review
Thanks for the video.
Be unique and work hard! Channels take hard work.
Great stuff
Although I didn't get picked, I learned a lot from this video! Very well done! 🎉
Game channels have become to dicey with the take downs, I prefer to go my own way creating things.
Thank you much sir for the information you gave i will sure try it out 😊
and the bow and arrow thing i think i need to look for a better screen recorder😁
Damn I missed that opportunity again :D....
Damn bruh I really thought I could be in the vid
Nice, advise, I hope I can grow fast soon.

Cool
Nice
Part 2?
I am in waiting
I have a small gaming channel (5k+ subs), I am already monetised and yes I mostly gained viewers through shorts, and I was wondering if you have any advise to change my algorithm from shorts to livestream and videos? ( I am playing mostly multiplayer games, battle royal etc) Thank you for reading this. I don't really know how to pick my niche
W video , W channel thank you VidIQ
