Not every game on GOG is playable out of the box but still I respect this.
I also highly respect the passionate gamers who come up with and share solutions to patch problems and keep old games playable.
I think it's a great start what GOG is doing. Hopefully they extend the preservation to more classics.
GOG literally a company that keeps alive a lot of games past their prime and i love it.
I still remember when GoG was known a as Good Old Games. If retro was as big then as it is now, they would never have had to rebrand.
Yeah, they skip the good old games into promotions now that Retro has become such a gold mine as people flee the insane game Devs. It's funny how the classic games were made by the people fleeing the last mind virus of Christianity
I was glad to discover Diablo 1 there, and when I tried it, that game became my favorite ARPG next to Atlyss

I really love this. GOG really is such a great service! I just wish there was something out there for my old console games other than hoping there's an emulation somewhere.
I mean there is the insanely expensive hobby of collecting the physicals nowadays and hoping the disc or cartridge works forever.
I joke of that of course it is literally not possible anymore except for the super rich basically.
@gucciguy3408 That's just it, my games still work, but for how long? The last time .hack, Koudelka, Shadow Hearts, Radiata Stories, Spy Fiction, Steambot Chronicles, or Xenosaga boot up will make me sad. Then again, maybe my system will die first.
I don't like subscitptions for things like how i don't like paying for internet twice on consoles.
Enjoy that they do QOL things with most older games.
Sadly it sees less use for me personally due to them not having a great store front.
Also slightly sad that I no longer can get the buy on steam have it connected to GOG since they removed that feature years ago.
So now either I have to rebuy it on GOG or find ways to fix a game on the other launcher that I bought the game on.
On a side note:Delisting is why we don't trust all these devs especially Sega as one of the biggest proprietor of delisting and taking away what you paid for from you.
And with older console games and nintendo/playstation we'll only have piracy/emulation on PC to play them or spend tons of money to buy old copies that are getting harder and harder to find.
Not a fan of modern ArenaNet, but very grateful to them for maintaining original Guild Wars servers free to play as long as they have. They are on "automated" life support but updated, will run on windows 10 fine. I appreciate what GoG is doing, so many of my old MMOs and single players are gone forever with only a few of them having functional EMU or the ability to run on modern platforms. I keep my elderly Win 7 gaming PC around, some of my older games like Star Fleet Command (Taldren), Origins or New Vegas are much happier there. So many PCs are shipped now without a disc drive....
PLN is Polish currency. The funny thing (or not for historical reasons) is that N is short from "new polish złoty", but frankly locally used name of currency is just "złoty" (as are dollars in us)
On the other hand "złoto" is a polish translation of "Gold" which may make our currency somehow more fantasy-like due to name similarities (but realistically hardly anyone think that)

Just goes to show that remasters are worthless money grabs. They literally admit it by delisting original versions.
Remaster of HZD is a perfect example. And I don't understand the obsession they have with most astroturfed protagonist of all time - Aloy. Everyone played the first game because robot dinosaurs were cool, not because of her. I personally didn't care one bit for the story. Lore was somewhat interesting but story itself was crap.
CDPR studio may be infiltrated by progs, but their GOG is still extremely customer-friendly and I had pleasure contacting support and digital marketing over the years I had my Heroes of Might and Magic series bought there. The response was always top notch and professional and fair, unlike some people across the pond going crazy on twitter calling all the gamers in the world right and centre chuds and republican voters for some reason.
I need to finish neverwinter nights 2 some day. I think I'd always get to a point and get frustrated by how badly they made the camera, things don't fade out and instead it bounces in and out as it hits objects
Though i feel that cd project red is going woke and insane...and that gog could do a bit more work on the linux front...i love gog and i respect nay love their no-DRM policy

Yes - because games being easily delisted and unavailable is such a HUGE stretch.
