KLR650 Off Road Adventures & ADV Glove Review
Ya know you can adjust the shifter 😅
Sweet video… I’m in mid Michigan and just got a KLR any suggestions on cool places to take her?
Just picked mine up last night..I am 60 and am looking forward to the Adventure,.
I'm 57 and I bought a street bike last year. I almost went with a KLR 650 though. I really like my Vulcan 900, but the KLR just looks like a lot of fun to me. I just happened upon a good deal.
I changed out the front fender for a KLX fender. Trust me, you will not regret it. The stock fender causes wobble when you get up in speed 60+mph.
I had mine at 21 psi and felt like the front tire was going to fall off the rim in a corner on pavement
Its 500lbs yet nimble as a track bike, and has the acceleration of a 75cc amazon DUI scooter. You really gotta be doing all the things your not supposed to do to un alive yourself on it. Its honestly the perfect beginner bike for a tall person. Idk had an 1190, and the klr and didnt wanna sell it then, 1190 got wrecked, and still riding the klr. Honestly tied between the tenere 700 and the super tenere. And still gonna keep it.
Chill grandpa just relax and go through your crisis
Mechanics might be rock solid*, but fairings broke on her second forrest adventure despite crash guards. Don’t be fooled this bike is lovely on road and on light off-road trails, but it is not made for the woods. (* don’t drive north of 110 for too long or youll start loosing parts. I lost a swing arm component that took kawasaki 6 weeks to get to australia)
hey bud i just have a question im new to riding i wanted a ninja s1000sx i really dont care about speed i want something to tour on i know that im not going to do lots of offroad i like to ride on the road i was looking for a klr650 or a ninja 1000sx im just afraid to drop the ninja since im a new rider because its expensive do you think i should buy the klr first or go straight for the ninja im 29 years old and im a very responsible person its just that i dont want to lose money buying the klr then selling it or trade it with the sx
And they seem to be very secretive about it! Guess they don’t want people finding out that the ML serial number means assembled or made in Thailand.
You are absolutely correct, and I found that out after I posted the video. You would think a dealership would know that since that’s who told me.
They don’t want you to know! Such a shame that brand with such a prestigious name would risk build quality for a profit! Sign of the times I guess. Even still I’m pretty sure the Thai’s are only assembling not fully manufacturing
ML serial number means assembled in Thailand!!
Yup!
Narrator irritating af……only made it 30 seconds in
The klx230 mirrors suck too. Think I'm getting these
Yes they do!
Interesting. We are the same age and both have two street bikes and now the KLR. Great video.
If it does what you want it to do and puts a giggle on your face…who gives a sh!t
Very capable offroad bike, but far too heavy for me. I've owned 2 of em. If I had one now, I would ride it as a road bike. It's an excellent road bike that "can" take any road when conditions change like construction or even gravel. Making it more ideal for changing conditions than other street bikes like cruisers ect. It's a great bike, but to me it is a road bike and the ultimate utilitarian road bike.
Would you be willing to ride 100-200 miles down a highway to reach the trails? Second question is it heavy enough for highway use or do you prefer US routes? I live in Clearwater and Drive to the Everglades to Camp and Fish. This looks something I would enjoy down there but I’m not sure if I’d enjoy getting it there. I haven’t been on a bike in years and when I was a kid we would drive road bikes through the corn fields but I’ve always wondered about these dual purpose bikes and how they run down the road.
I'm 52 and love my 22' klr 650!😊
Great bikes
I just got a KLR two weeks ago love it already put 1000 miles on it took it from Wyoming Michigan to Alpena Michigan and back it was a wonderful Ride
Same as harley
I have a 22 KLR 650 and I am wanting ot do a cross country trip but I am not going to be on the interstate I am going to be on 2 lane and dirt roads the KLR is not for interstate travel long term IMHO, I also have a Ultra limited touring bike then yes its made for interstate riding all the way.
I need to see one with a fishing pole setup then I’ll be convinced lol
I am 52 and about to buy me a bike for first time since 15 years
60k miles on my 08 KLR and loving it
Yeah, no view is better than a swamp 🤣💀
😂 in a weird way this day it was
Just turned 30, got the white 650s and it’s a hoot on the dirtys.
A riot!
I had mine replaced under warranty after two trips to the stealership. Once it was fixed, I shipped it down the road and bought a Honda. No more Kawasaki’s for me!
I’m 66 and just sold my scout bobber for a DR 650 and having a blast. I’ve seen more wildlife in the last few weeks than I have in my entire life
2016 KLR was my retirement bike. It’s been great. Have 2009 Super Sherpa that I commuted on. 19,000 miles on it. KLR is quiet and dependable. Got it second hand. Guy had all the bells and whistles already on it. Saddle man seat crash bars dash board higher windshield turn signal indicators motocross pegs adjustable kickstand. Smaller front fender acc outlets bark busters hand guards new skins $6K!
Thanks ...I am having mine retorqued, but will watch it closely, I have owned 2 other klrs they steered fine, this 2023 was scary bad.
Yup and just some of the 23 models, good now
Went from a c14 to a verseys 650 to klr 2023 adventure completely different kind of riding, absolutely love it 👍🏽
My 23 suffered from this. Picking it up from the dealer today. New bearings and races covered under warranty.
Absolutely love my KLR 650
Modding them is the fun and point of it being basic. I'm not sure how you did a lot of research and did t know it would need modification.
Even Ken Kaplan stands by his klr and ride hundreds of different bikes all the time!
I have a 2011 KLR650 and love it for what it is. 62 years old now, my days of hard riding motocross are long gone and I just wanted a bike to enjoy forest service roads and tooling around in the countryside. Yeah, it doesn't do anything really great but I find it a very easy bike to ride and it takes me to very nice peaceful spots in the mountains. I have a Goldwing, Indian Roadmaster, Concours 1400 and a Yamaha Stratoliner. Each bike give a completely different experience. For what I needed it for, it was priced right, wasn't complicated (easy to work on) and dead reliable. Right now, I'm prepping it for a trip to Northern Idaho (on a trailer because I'm not riding it cross country) to enjoy some back country riding with my brother. The KLR is a great bike, are there better ones.....yes....but not for the money.
Ensamblada en Tailandia 🇹🇭 mano de obra barata 😢
That's it you just convinced me,my next bike will be a klr 650
Great video, been riding all my life or a least since I was 8 yesterday. Old, love my klr650, also have a ducati 749s and a ultra classic harley davidson, I just love riding.
Right on!
which tires are that? they might be nice for my 690
these are stock
My left ear enjoyed this video
yeah...I know....amateur here some days
I just got a 2022 KLR 650 Adventure yesterday with very low miles 1238 miles and my SN# starts with M L do you happen to know what the torque specs are
I do not but the issue as only 23 models as they told me

Just bought the 2024 klr 650 adventure so far love it was time to slow down and get something more versatile went from a kx450f to this big Change but excited to do some trips to some lakes and fish with it
I bought the same bike same color 2 weeks ago. I had it for 4 hours and an old lady hit me head on while I was stopped at a stop sign.
Had zero issues with my 22 klr
theres nothing better than hitting trail on good adv bike, especially in sunday morning ;
