Johnny, I read online that your Apple 30" should work with the Club 3D adapter without anything else. You just have to have the Club 3D version that fits your display. There are two versions of the Club3D, one with HDCP and one without. Maybe you used the one not meant to your display? A users says he has no problem with M3 Macbook pro and just the right Club 3D adapter. Maybe it's ground for a new video ;)

The only thing I don’t like about aw3225qf is the curved monitor 😢

I’m looking at some brands using Samsung oled 15.6 4K touch monitors now and the more expensive ones using oled or ips have 120hz or 144hz at 2K or 4K res, but can the MacBooks since 60hz native their displays able to push 120hz or 144hz on one of these ? And also if using an iPad Pro 12.9 2020(A12Z bionic processor) last year before M-CHIPS were used, can the iPad Pro since 120hz utilize a 60hz monitor like these and or can it push 120hz to a portable monitor with that native refresh? I liked your review. Felt laid-back and focused on relevant issues, such as pointing out that the curve isn't aggressive. Put my mind at ease and I'm going to buy it, I decided. I've been on the fence for a long time, but I think I'm ready for 4k and for OLED.

I have two, one paired to my Apple Studio M1 and the other to my Mac Pro 2010, they work great. The only issue of course is the resolution, especially when comparing it to my 5K monitors and 4K. It is what it is. They look great and can't beat the older generation units.

How is the blooming compared to neo g7/g8?

Does it do variable refresh rate and 4k 120hz on a single monitor?

What gpu are you using and what are the max fps you get in games with max settings on?

As I am watching this. I do not see a way to check my firmware version on this monitor. I do love the monitor but it has been quirky to say the least. I will keep looking for my firmware version. One article says you have to use display port connection to update this. I do not have display port on my laptop. And I do not know if my USB c port supports display port with the adapter. Even it does, will it work that way through the adapter? It is no wonder they denied it getting any updates. It is good they changed their minds. But I am left wondering what to do next?

Apple needs to shift away from MacBooks and replace them with the highest quality portable monitors and mechanical keyboards with the computer internals stored inside the keyboard. This would resolve Apple’s product line as a traditional MacBook user in a post-Covid work-from-anywhere era.

So I have this monitor and it came shipped with FW .014 which means I would have to send it to MSI in order for it to be updated to receive firmware updates…which is something I’m afraid to do.

MSI for example has just added firmware updates to the MAG 321UPX, which is huge. Help - How to connect external speakers. Im connected to 2 displays (both do not have speakers). External speak via Aux jack on Benq provides audio on computer but not audio via PS5

So the graininess is a poor quality touch matrix layer, which doesn't match the screen. This allows the pen to work, but I had the same issue with a Lenovo laptop (brand new) and they don't call it a manufacturing defect, it's just how it is. Samsung OLED doesn't have this problem, and the first OLED laptops like Lenovo X1 gen 2 don't have the problem.

I just grabbed myself an alienware, and Hdr trueblack is my sweet spot for me. HDRpeak1000 was just not it for me.

UPDATE: MSI has said UPX can receive firmware updates. No details yet, though. If you're part of the first batch you can ask MSI to swap it out for you.

Thanks for the review. I’d love to see what the calibration process is like. Did you have to calibrate both the MacBook Pro and Dell displays to get them to match?

How anti glare coatings became the norm is beyond me. It looks terrible, all the time, and barely cuts down the glare, it even makes the overall picture worse than gloss coatings in brightly lit environments.
