So I have this monitor and it came shipped with FW .014 which means I would have to send it to MSI in order for it to be updated to receive firmware updates…which is something I’m afraid to do.

I ended up sending mine to the nearest MSI service centre, will be getting it back Monday. Hope all is good.

@@Accuaro let me know how that went for you. Im in the US and my service center is in California and I live in FL so i would have to send my monitor across the country which leaves a lot of room for something bad to happen to it.

Does G Sync work with this one though? Thats the only thing stopping me from getting this one because it doesn't say G Sync compatible.

@@stevegomez232 Update: updated to the latest FW and I can now update to any future FW on my own.
My service centre was multiple states away and I'm from Australia, MSI paid for an express pickup shipping and it arrived in a couple of days. I got it back relatively fast.
On a positive note, they gave me a lil MSI dragon in my box lol.

it depends on the firmware update your UPX shipped with. The URX already had firmware updates enabled.

As I am watching this. I do not see a way to check my firmware version on this monitor. I do love the monitor but it has been quirky to say the least. I will keep looking for my firmware version. One article says you have to use display port connection to update this. I do not have display port on my laptop. And I do not know if my USB c port supports display port with the adapter. Even it does, will it work that way through the adapter? It is no wonder they denied it getting any updates. It is good they changed their minds. But I am left wondering what to do next?

Just click the button on the back to open up the options menu and on the bottom right you should see FW and whatever firmware your monitor is on
