HUA HIN THAILAND - JUST FOR PENSIONERS?
Просмотров 17 тыс.21 день назад
Hua Hin, voted the best place to retire and live for over 60's, is it JUST FOR over 60'S!? Hua Hin is 3 hours south of Bangkok and is one of the most popular places for westerners to retire. A common question I get asked about is the age of most people in Hua Hin, there's no debating that the average age is older than other areas of Thailand but that doesn't mean there's not a little something ...

We Found a Nuclear Decontamination Cell in an Abandoned Military Base
Yeah people should not come to Thailand. It is crowded. We expats need more space and air to breathe!
Thailand has the best balance to cost and things to do. There are so many affordable things to enjoy. Cheers!
Sorry this guy is empathetic. You are loser in Thailand. Go Phillipine then. For most asian people Thai is a dream country.
SLOW DOWN the side to side camera movement! Especially indoors, in the mall. It makes the viewer dizzy like seasick.
Could take a seasickness tablet?
I arrived in Bangkok 2 weeks ago. Within a day I knew there is no way I could live here. It's very much an Orwellian dystopia populated by miserable looking people who mindlessly stare at their phones all day. It's known as land of smiles but the people look majorly depressed. The transport system has annoying loud announcements every ten seconds urging everyone to obey. And obey they do. Shuffling along like sheep at a snails pace queueing everywhere and blocking every single escalator. Never looking around but just existing in a self absorbed bubble. Even more annoying are the digital billboards everywhere you look with fake filtered people pushing skin whitening beauty products and various other crap. The sky train feeds people into an array of malls where they gorge themselves on greasy pork and sugary drinks before buying the products hoping to look like the fake models and shop at same boring generic brand shops that are at every mall in ecetyy country. Then they go home to their highrise ghettos and live in a box with artificial environment until the next day. The public transport system works and is relatively cheap but it gets packed and there's mostly only ever standing room. It takes forever to get anywhere and dont even bother before 10am or after 4pm unless you enjoy your personal space being violated. Nobody ever looks up or makes eye contact in Bangkok. They just stare at phones and drink sugary drinks. Even in nightclubs they do not chat or make eye contact with anyone. Just stand around a table being pretentious. They have mega clubs with international guest djs but they don't even dance. They clearly resent foreigners, maybe because they think we are rich. Most of us aren't in our own country but yes our money goes a bit further here and as such many ex pats in BK are absolute w*nkers. Suddenly they have a bit of money and they think their sh*t doesn't stink. Many have been here 5 minutes and think they are locals. Instead of welcoming newcomers they denigrate them for not knowing how things work. Maybe the thais just resent us because we have the freedom to leave this dirty polluted hellhole. Whatever the reason it's clear that we are only good for one thing $$$. Many people here are very rude and one of the most annoying things is the dual pricing which they deny with a smile but it's so obvious that denying it is ridiculous Another thing is the OTT control by immigration. They want to know where all foreigners are at all times. You must carry your passport everywhere as you will be asked for it for a variety of things. You even need it just to get a transport card at 7/11 Scams are everywhere. Don't look away for a second or your valuables will be gone. There's no honesty or kindness here at all. Just opportunism and ruthless greed. A grab driver tried to drive off with my bag in the back. Fortunately he did not get away and I retrieved my things but was a very close call. I was very disturbed by this and will never trust another person here. If you do any small act of kindness here such as holding a door open or helping someone who dropped something don't expect a thank you. Most people are just way too ignorant and self absorbed. The only time they will thank you is when you hand over money. The only good thing about Bangkok is cheap food if you eat out at places locals eat but even that attracts stares of suspicion. Apart from that it has no redeeming qualities. It's loud, it smells bad, it's polluted, people are rude and if you are trusting in any way you are extremely vulnerable. They also leave the elderly and animals to die on the streets. I've seen multiple cats just laying there alive but not moving. If you touch them they are breathing but cannot move because they are too weak. That says a lot about a country. Its a very cold unwelcoming place. Quite inhumane. It's dog eat dog, survival of the fittest and I can't wait to leave.
Sorry but if you can't live in Thailand then no where else in Southeast Asia you can live. Thailand is the best heaven in whole Asia. If you don't feel welcomed there then nowhere else in Asia wants to accommodate you. Thailand is the best country in Asia. I'm sure you are woman. If you were a man things could be different because you'd end up having Thai women and you'll find this country is the best in term of dating
Cracking video.
Thanks!
Thank you very much for nice kindly to Thailand . Welcome to Thailand again and again.
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely fantastic Vlog Keep up the good work Real insight into life in Thailand
Thank you 🙏
Certain host countres look for the quality rather than quantity.
Great video Josh. I've been visiting Hua Hin for 15 years and your presentation and overview is excellent and accurate and some new information for this old timer. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the comment Thomas! It’s a great place, glad the new info was useful too 👍
Dude you have a stalker!
Please explain 😅!?
I have literally just come back from South East Asia, and the first thing I have done is look at videos about Thailand. You are correct in that whilst some of the surrounding countries can offer some unique perspectives and cultral/historical highlights, Thailand has just got the complete package....and more importantly it knows how to handle mass tourism very well. Bangkok airport is just an amazing example of how to process so many visitors without a single hitch in immigration, baggage, checking in and getting around the airport. The same can be said for the BTS...it makes London's underground look silly and chaotic compared to how Thailand have seen what the rest of the world are doing, and then just making it work for the best. I have multiple trips to Europe in my schedule for next year...but I think I have left a part of my heart in Thailand and will be longing to get back there soon. Enjoy the rest of your Asian adventure Josh :)
The language barrier seems to be a great barrier to me. The Philippines takes that out of the equation for the most part. Got a good laugh out of your cow encounter. I've been to Singapore and love it.
Everyone gets a bad diarrhea at least once in Thailand if you travel at least a month. That bad that you must take some pills to overcome it. So no, it's not as higine as in most advanced first world countries. And I am married to a Thai for 23 years and visit there with my kids almost yearly. The Thai are a bit more immune but they too know very well the experience and the pills in 7/11 to recover
For me I perfer Malaysia More than Thailand, better infrastructure, language, food, transportation, ethnic diversity, the only downside Maybe for is alcohol for people who drinks and night life better in Thailand, it's all depends on what's your goals for visit
Thailand isn’t perfect for sure, but it’s the place I feel safe and belong to the most in south east Asia. Everything is affordable, accessible, comfortable, and enjoyable.
Great take, I agree
It's politics the only thing that always fuck with thai people and country, great people for sure, people here has a widely unique morality and they idolise the good intention very very much. but we have one of the worst people around here and they all playing in politics. it will not gonna end soon unfortunately.
Thailand and Sri Lanka. These are the two countries I would like to visit multiple times.
I want to visit Sri Lanka too!
If you want pristine beaches( nothing beats the crystal clear Boracay) and now Balabac is a must see, beautiful islands, lush landscapes go to Ph. Siargao is the next Bali
Will aim to check them out thanks!
Spot on Josh
Thanks mate
The people in the Philippines are great, it’s cheap relatively, and they have a few very nice neighborhood, like BGC and IT Park. However, overall the infrastructure in the Philippines is a bit more rough than Thailand. The structure outside of the areas set up for rich people, makes you clearly aware you’re in a Third World country. Thailand on the other hand feels more like you’re just in a bad/less developed part of the United States (Memphis, Detroit, etc.) Lol. Also, and while I know you can find this almost anywhere in Southeast Asia, there’s just something about the easier access to attractive women in Thailand that makes being there wonderful. I also think on average the women are cuter in Thailand than they are in the Philippines. however, in the female looks department, I think Vietnam might surpass Thailand, but I haven’t been yet, so we’ll see.
Only people who like chicky girls, ladyboy, drug and alcohol love Thailand....😂😂😂
Sweetheart, you're being consumed w/ jealousy. Shake it off. Shake it off.
Great video.
Thank you!
Same price as in FL US No foreigner can own land in Thailand Risky
It's cheap as chips fools pay 1000 pounds for a condo condo,s are cheap to rent hotels are cheap but the idiots are ruining it for everyone now food is delicious, I've never been ill from food there it's getting all the fools who usually go to ibiza and kavos
I still love Thailand, amazing country, unlike America, RIP
i'm just looking forward to exploring all of them myself. can't wait.
Me too!
BECAUSE ALL THE LADY BOYS ARE IN THAILAND...NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL AND...THEY WILL TELL YOU, THEY ARE NOT WOMAN.
The VAST majority of people are not here for ladyboys though. Trust me. I know 😉
The biggest drawback is the language. In the Philippines, everyone can speak English.
If you're from the west, blame your ancestors for their sheer ineptitude. They could've colonised us like they did everyone else. If you're from around here, my condolences to your tribal pride.
Such strong arms
people are nicer in Thailand than in Vietnam.
Because it's a lot closer to the West as you say than most of them surrounding countries in terms of much better nightlife, malls, infrastructure generally and much more convenience to get around, transport, flights, etc, decent level of English spoken and probably safer too. As thailand is so varied, you can literally go on 5 different holidays there and have a different experience each time, I love the place, been many times over past decade
100% agree, English being the only exception, I don’t expect anyone to speak English but with Thai and English being so different, it can be difficult at times but it’s to be expected in Thailand, I’m not in the UK and respect that. Thanks for the comment 👍
@@josh.onthemove there's also the bar scene, lady friends that other countries don't have to anywhere near same degree. That has to be a major driver too
Go to India or Vietnamese for peace and quiet on the road.
Great video. Very well done
Thank you 🙏
Nice one. Great video and hope you enjoyed Australia. I'm in Sydney so hit me up if you want any NSW tips ;)
Thanks! Australia was a good trip, spent a lot of time in NSW in my 20’s love the place! Just a LONG way from the uk ✈️ 😅
Alot of people are saying that about china now ,the inforstructure is amazing, people great and it's cheap
I’ve seen that too, would like to check it out although the weather and laid back nature of Thailand I’m not sure China will be able to replicate, looking forward to visiting though
@josh.onthemove you can get similar type of weather in china just depends where you go , but the infrastructure and the people is amazing It will blow you away try it
What a brilliant experience and get to have a workout along the way
Exactly, makes reaching the cave feel that much better 👌
This could not be any more superficial...
Great video thank you. What would be your favourite place in Thailand ?
Thanks! Probably Hua Hin to be honest. The only downside is it can feel harder to reach other places and get that true island feel. Phuket may be not for everyone and I’m not sure I’d want to live there full time but it’s so accessible to so many places by either flight, boat or drive
If you don’t know the answer to this by the age of 13 you’re on strange tracks of life
Grandpa, Apple Inc had to cancel its 2024 commercial shot in Thailand due to an immense backlash. In there, it depicts Thailand as an illiterate American 30 years ago would describe Thailand. Don't be like them, Pop. Stupidity never complements grey hair (if any).
Hi thanks for your video Where is your favorite spot in Thiland? I went to Phuket and phi phi but never been in samui
Thanks! I actually prefer phuket to samui for longer stays but samui has a slightly slower paced feel and would be a better holiday destination imo
It's about Thai people, they are exceptional.
Hey Buddy, Damn watching you visiting all these places I know so well sure makes me long to get back soon. Super vid and definitely legit info about prices in Thailand. Though I would have paid another 50-100baht and got a one hour message...hahaha
Thanks mate! Once you’ve been home a while, these videos make that itch to get back out here much bigger don’t they! I get agitated after 30-40 mins laying on the table 🤣
No hold barred Prostitution. 😂
How much do you charge per hour? For cleaning, that is. Wait, never mind. You look a tad too unhygienic to come into my house.
I do like these national parks
They’re great!
The Buddhist culture and natural beauty go a long long way, to create a welcoming country. I hope it never changes.
I agree
I'll base in Cambodia and visit Thailand whenever and not dic with the fickle red tape and tax.
Rule.No.1 Eat at Home, make sure your accomodation have a full Kitchen included Oven (No Microwave) you will safe 60% of your Holiday and you Know what you eatin,Clean and Perfect Alternative Just eat at A+ Restaurants when you goin out
If I have lunch, that’s at home, the rest of the meals I always have out. Much prefer it 👍
@josh.onthemove contaminated Street Food IS Not healthy,But again ,If u Cook at Home ITS way much healthy and you Know what IS Inside,i CAN'T Trust the Outside kitchen anymore, Thailand changed and a lot of People suffering cause the Touris BUSNISS is goin Down,But there few good places you can eat Outside
Defo can’t argue that eating at home you know exactly what you’re cooking but I eat fairly simply 80% of the time which is fine for me 👍
part of the 'free world' so to speak, lot more cross pollination, VN old catholic guard still has designs on overthrowing the 'communist' government,
Would love to see Thailand, some friends visited for some months, and then they moved to Taiwan, where they spent a couple of years. Have you been to Taiwan, or thinking of going?
I’ve not been to Taiwan yet but would like to visit
