Firstly the people are so nice and friendly,we Thais like all foreigners wherever you come from. The secondly is food ,Thai cuisine is far better than other SEA countries.Lastly the beach are so beautiful, and where you can buy food next the beach. That’s why people come back year after year, especially Song Kran ( Thai new year in April)

Your culture is complex but not rich. Your culture is barbaric and racist. Your culture teaches locals to hate foreigners and exploit them, all with a smile. Unlike this channel owner and his flock of sheep, I actually know Thailand well. It has a very dark underside. You know this which is why you are baffled that people prefer Thailand over other Asian countries. Remove the sex and drug scene from Thailand and you will see the number of tourists collapse.

I think the main reason is just how friendly all the Thais are , and also the fact that there’s so many cool things to get out on your scooter and explore , the food is incredible , and it’s a nice feeling to have when your enjoying these things they have to offer that the prices are so affordable , it funny how you mention you wish you could relive your first visit over again ,.. my first visit was in 2013 , long story short I had sprained my ankle and would travel around with my crutches on my rented scooter, I couldn’t pull up and park without a Thai person stepping off the sidewalk to offer to help me off the bike, including little old ladies ( I’ll never forget that )

Thailand just has the best mix of everything - constant buzz, infrastructure, stunning and ornate culture, best streetfood that is everywhere, best malls, markets, restaurants, clubs, party streets, rooftop bars, best condos, coworking areas etc and they put a lot of care into their architecture and interior design. Everything literally feels like a special experience. Then they have the paradise islands in the south, charm of old town Phuket, stunning cities and villages in the mountains up north etc. But most importantly, the Thais are so friendly, smiley, love to bust your chops and joke around and are so gentle - just the tone of their language is so comforting. So it's no surprise the entire world wants to be there at all times. That being said, the rest of Asia is incredible. I love it all from Osaka to Hanoi to Bali. When you live in Asia, you really get the whole package and the entire region to explore because flights and hotels are so cheap compared to the West.

@dashingmay depends on your life style. If you booze, go to ladybars, and don't know how to stick to a budget, you will never have enough. I live in hua hin. You can rent a 1 bedroom condo near the beach for roughly 550 us per month. Easy to pay more. Cell phone and internet 40 us, food, the way my wife and I eat is 20 more or less per day. Sometimes 5 per day, but then again I eat thai food not usa food and I don't drink. If you live vhere, having a motorbike is a good idea, but you can survive by taking local busses or taxis or walking. It's a small city and things are easily accessible. If you haven't been here, I suggest you watch some RUclips videos of hua hin and take a 4 week trip

@@Depersonalist Brazil is a huge and diverse country. Big cities like Rio de Janeiro are amazing to visit but can also be risky if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Back in 2010, I took a road trip (by Bus) with my ex-wife (she’s Brazilian) from Rio de Janeiro to Vila Velha, Pedra Azul, Diamantina (one of the most beautiful places), Brasília, Goiânia, and then back to Rio.
We planned the route because Oscar Niemeyer, the legendary architect, was a close friend of her grandfather. His iconic designs are prominent in many of those cities. It was an incredible experience, even though, unfortunately, it couldn’t fix our marriage. Still, my ex-wife mentioned she learned more about her own country during those three weeks than she had her whole life. It’s a trip I’ll always cherish.

    You have made my day today after watching your video I couldn’t have agreed more on this, We as a whole family and friends do plan our Thailand trips twice a year for winter and summer holidays for for us because we are both retired we go 4 times a year our friends still working I have come to conclusion on this about Thailand and other neighboring countries as;
    1, food
    2, infrastructure, roads
3, easy to get around, cheap road trips clean and brilliant stopping at service stations like PTT ( World class )
4, genuine feeling about the whole of Thailand the people are ready to help if you are really need one and I have to mention this time after time again that it’s not all about money
5, feel more relaxed about the whole things ( no one bothered you )
6, it’s your choice weather you want it 5 stars on down to backpacking
7, peoples, I have found in conclusion of the total overall Thailand is the people they are far more happy to deal with just seeing them smiling in every day living life is a plus to everyone especially tourists , We don’t see that much in other places
Overall Josh happy to come across your videos love everything that you have said

My husband and I are moving in the area somewhere. Probably Thailand. Not sure at this point. I just retired ( only because I started my career at an early age ) and my husband will retire next year. Their public transit is awesome, which made getting around very easy. And it was very inexpensive. That is a very important aspect of traveling for me. Thai people appear to be very content, humble, kind, and hospitable. It did not take me long to notice those traits. I liked the Thai food that I had, at least most of it, but there is so much more I have yet to try. I enjoyed my trip there so much that I wanted to go back for a longer stay. It doesn't mean that the surrounding countries are not awesome to experience. I am sure they are, and it would be interesting to go to some and compare. I am choosing to go back to Thailand for a month in January of 2025 because I loved it so much when I went there. I am hoping that this trip will be even better than my first. But I will try to have fun no matter what. Sometimes life can be what we make of it. So I say try to make the most of it. Thank you for another great video. I am trying to watch as many as I can before my upcoming trip that I am very excited about.

I have literally just come back from South East Asia, and the first thing I have done is look at videos about Thailand. You are correct in that whilst some of the surrounding countries can offer some unique perspectives and cultral/historical highlights, Thailand has just got the complete package....and more importantly it knows how to handle mass tourism very well. Bangkok airport is just an amazing example of how to process so many visitors without a single hitch in immigration, baggage, checking in and getting around the airport. The same can be said for the BTS...it makes London's underground look silly and chaotic compared to how Thailand have seen what the rest of the world are doing, and then just making it work for the best.
I have multiple trips to Europe in my schedule for next year...but I think I have left a part of my heart in Thailand and will be longing to get back there soon.
Enjoy the rest of your Asian adventure Josh :)

The land of smiles is amazing 😁 I went there the first time in 1985. I got married in Thailand in1987. I had a son in 1988. I've been back to Thailand 32 times! I love Thailand, but! I've been to, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Japan, Indonesia in that order since I first landed in Thailand. But, I ended up planning to retire in Cambodia! I built a house, with a good friend and family in Cambodia. I also built a house in Sumatra, Indonesia. I love those countries a little more than Thailand. But I will always love Thailand and visit my son and grand-daughter, it is only 4 hours away from Cambodia. I recommend everyone go to visit all of the ASEAN nations they all have so much to offer every one of those cultures is amazing ❤😁🙏💙

Why I moved from Vietnam to Thailand. 1. English language, 2. Infrastructure, 3. Quality of healthcare, 4. Quality of people (polite and professional), 5. Quality and choice of housing. I love Vietnam for its coziness and go regularly. When I lived in Singapore, I saw Thailand as too touristy, but I really love the live here and wouldn’t change for anything. I’m going to buy a house in Hua Hin next year so I have a place to retire to in a few years. You are totally right about all the countries in SE Asia. You can be yourself in Thailand without worrying about restrictive laws like in the Muslim or more corrupt non Muslim countries. The Philippines is easy going & the language barrier is so much better than Thailand but you’re more likely to get kidnapped or mugged there. Anyway I’m Australian so we have plenty of SE Asians living here, they’re fine & so are their countries but the best one is Thailand!!!

Phu Quoc was just OK, but i didn’t explore most of the island.
But Da Nang blew my mind. I found it very impressive. A very clean, beautiful, modern and well planned city with a spectacular beachfront. Its like an Asian Miami or Rio.
I also enjoyed Hoi An. Hoi An is like the Vietnamese version of Melaka, but much nicer and more interesting than Melaka. I am planning to go back to Da Nang and Hoi An this year too. Also plan to visit Saigon, Hanoi and Nha Trang one day.

Thailand is more open to westerners, the people are more friendlier, not too conservative, better infrastructure, and open-minded. They can are related to westerners which make westerners more comfortable living in their country. Meet most western living standard which makes it attractive and comfortable for westerners. Better amenities, healthcare systems, bigger and modern brand of products, better shopping centers, better transportation system, etc. These are all important to tourists/ expats which keeps bringing tourists/ expats back to Thailand. Not too strict and the laws are relaxing and accommodating.

As a Thai who had an oppy to live in 4 other western countries and have been in the UK for many years, I do understand why some people are really fond of Thailand and some people not so much. In general, a lot of things that you guys experience stem from the fact that 97% of Thai people are Buddhists. The buddhism's teaching is so ingrained in everything we do in our life - from being humble, seeking peace, being considerate towards oneself and others, accepting of one's situation, walking in 'the middle path' i.e. not extreme, being respectful, reaching out to help others. This is why you see most Thai people smiling and content, even if they don't have much money. This concept of 'contentedness' is further helped by the abundant of natural resources and a mild-hot climate all year round. After all these years, I'm still marvelled on how my country has such a variety of food and tastes and I really think it's something to do with 'happy people creating happy food.' I love my country but after working in the west for so long, I would dread to go back and work in Thailand. Being content doesn't really help our people to be driven and determined. Also, the 'slow life' doesn't help with disciplines either. We are famous for not being on time (one of the issues I had to overcome when arriving in the west!). We are also famous for not being that direct (at least at work). We like to dance around the main issue and hope that others would get what we mean. All because we don't like to hurt other people's feelings. So you see, no country is perfect but whatever you guys travel to Thailand for, have a wonderful time. I know it's pretty safe but we do have bad people so still exercise cautions as you would whilst travelling. Love and peace. 🙏

100% agree, English being the only exception, I don’t expect anyone to speak English but with Thai and English being so different, it can be difficult at times but it’s to be expected in Thailand, I’m not in the UK and respect that. Thanks for the comment 👍

People find it hard to describe why Thailand is the most visited country on the planet earth. I think it comes down to the experience travelers get from the Thai people .We human are social animal and we attach our feeling to the way we react to those around us and the other way around. Thai people are true Thailand’s soft power. Of course we like to think and say that our people from country are also friendly and bla bla bla but when it comes to Thai people it’s not even just their friendliness it’s the whole vibe people get when immersing themselves into thai lifestyle.

Having traveled to Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia in my younger days I came to the conclusion that Thailand was the best place to settle down. Keep up with the good work and watch out for soi dogs and charging cows. 😂😂😂 👍👍👍

I keep coming back because of the Thai people and society. It’s safe. The people have very high standards about the things that make life livable. I feel free there. I am accepted. Thailand is unlike any other place I’ve been, in that it seems completely accepting of differences in people. There isn’t the same racism or hostility between different kinds of people. Thais genuinely seem to make decisions based on what’s best for everyone in the community. So you end up with a synthesis of progressive and modern views, as well as strong traditions. Thai people are practical and adaptive. I think this is a Buddhist attitude and due to the fact Thailand has never submitted to colonial powers from the west. They choose what they will accept and are keen on whatever benefits the society.

    • @AndiditLove
      @AndiditLove 2 месяца назад

But it's so western. What do you mean by never submitted by western standards? It's contradicting huh? It's becoming western more and more and losing their culture. That's a fact. Otherwise I would think Buddhist people are wild?

Great video - I have lived in S.E.A for 13+ years ( Singapore) - and visited most countries in the region several times ( currently KL based )
Thailand is 'well rounded' and ticks most boxes (nightlife , nature , food, infrastructure , and ppl ) - hence popular.. only downside vs Malaysia is a bit more expensive and less English spoken
summary of some others based on experience
Malaysia ; great infrastructure , nature , food , low cost , friendly and ppl speak English, nightlife a bit less vibrant than TH
Indonesia (outside of Bali) - awesome scuba diving , but poor roads, hard to get about .. limited nightlife, limited English.. culture is a bit 'lets rip off tourists'.
PH : also great scuba , friendly , nightlife , lovely beaches and English spoken - but travel and infrastructure is poor , Manila is messy, local food not so great
VN: great nature , food, cheap , interesting culture.. but infrastructure messy and nightlife not as good as TH and not much English

Logistics of PH are a nightmare. No one shows up on time, flights and ferry’s get cancelled last minute. The infrastructure needs a lot of work. Traffic is a nightmare. The food is probably the worst in SEA. The people are great!!
Thailand has its issues too but not on the same level.
