I would agree with all of those except the cash one. Best option is to take cash in your own dollars/pounds/euros and then change then to Bhat as needed as the rates will be much better than you get at home or from an ATM. Just make sure your notes/bills are in perfect condition as any which are damaged, folded or marked may not be accepted.
Wise (TransferWise) is another great option. Great exchange rates and also an ATM card. I used take many vacations to Thailand and now retired and transfer money on Wise as bank to bank exchange rates are the worst which includes using my USA bank ATM card. Learned from years of mistakes.
Thank you I will be in Thailand in March, taking a friend of mine who hasn’t been there before. Ive been there at least 7 times before and your information was very helpful
This gentleman is giving very good advice and I’m asking everyone to listen to him and as a person who has been living here for 10 years please respect the culture, custom and traditions here do not speak negative of the monarchy the royal family the king do not step on the paper money here the currency because it has the face of the king on it even the coins have a drops don’t put your foot on it. Let it roll until it stop or try to catch your hand, you can get up to 25 years in prison for disrespecting the king the world, family paper currency so be very careful here don’t speak politics here anything that’s negative about the royal family or the king. It will cost you dearly. You can be deported after serving prison time. Do not get into argument with the Thai people here do not get into a fight because you’re the one that gonna be at fault even if the person was at fault you would be blame why because you are a guest here you are a foreigner here and that’s the way you gonna be treated if you’re winning, find a reputable rental place be very very careful advise not to drive here if you don’t have the experience of living here because is very dangerous here especially for foreigners number one cause of death for foreigners in Thailand is auto accidents motorcycle accidents they have laws here, but not obey them pertaining to the road rules and regulations of driving and riding motorcycles so be very very very careful here I don’t Drive or ride the motorcycle if you do not take the skytrain subway take the bus if you can be sure to check where you’re going and the taxi be sure they turn on that meter if they give an excuse get out of the cab do let them take you alone The city or where you have to go without turning on that meter Thailand is a beautiful country. People are beautiful. Yes this gentleman that giving very good advice and I do say please listen to him. Have a wonderful time here and enjoy yourself and be alert. Be safe and be careful. Thank you.
Thanks for this video. I've watched many like it but yours is definitely the one I would recommend. Mostly because you speak of being respectful on your trip. I see so many people doing disrespectful things. Maybe they don't even realize it but they should. So thanks for the nice video. I have just subscribed, and am looking forward to seeing all your content. Happy Travels!
Thank you for that thorough video. Questions... Which boat tour or rental would you recommend to beat-bop from island to island? Which parts of Thailand can I travel by ferry? And you and Meg were on the water on something flat and wooden at 8:25... Where do I get one?
Thank you very much for the superb Video you made. It is very to the point and accurately provides relevant information for anyone who plans to visit my country. I feel that it was also very helpful for myself as I learned additional aspects which I had not reflected before. With great appreciation from Switzerland.
1:47 "In general you can break Thailand up into two parts, the North and the South." Ehhh... I suppose for tourism purposes you can. But really Thailand has four regions at minimum, Central, South, North, and Northeast, all Thai, but each with its own dialect and local culture. The Northeast (Isan) region in particular is unique. While tourists are unlikely to visit there, many people who work in the tourist industry in other regions come from there, so you'll likely meet some of them in your travels.
Thanks for watching! As far as vaccinations we did not get anything out of ordinary except for maybe typhoid. I would for check with your doctor though to make sure you are all set.
So the SIM card will work with Verizon? And do you buy it there , how to know what SIM card to get?? I going there Late November to early December. Thanks Bruv!
I am planing a 1 day tour to Khao Sok . What do u think? From Krabi Also do you recommend I purchase tours in Thailand going in December or book ahead of time?
I recently went to Thailand and Laos. Tried carry-on only but my bag got too heavy because I ended up having to buy way too many clothes because I packed incorrectly. When you go to South East Asia what clothes does Meg pack? I'm going to Vietnam in June and don't want to make the same mistake.

Beautiful sound. If you are reading this, don't forget, someone somewhere is wishing you all the best.
Most people use Line in Thailand instead of Whatsapp
Thank you! I remember ten years ago that was the case, but I wasn't sure if it changed.
Probably a good idea to have both apps though
It all depends what all your contacts are on. Mine happen to be on WhatsApp.
@@lk4871yes, but locals have Line. Contacts are on device / google

Hi
For the esim
Which app can I download to buy it ?
Great breakdown!
How would you spend 1 week in Thailand? I'm thinking 2 days in Bangkok and the rest in Phuket. Does that seem rushed?
So the SIM card will work with Verizon? And do you buy it there , how to know what SIM card to get?? I going there Late November to early December. Thanks Bruv!
What do you use to record your videos?
What is the name of the bungalows in Kao sok? Thanks
We booked through a company called SMILEY BUNGALOWS AND LAKE HOUSE
I am planing a 1 day tour to Khao Sok . What do u think? From Krabi
Also do you recommend I purchase tours in Thailand going in December or book ahead of time?
Do you mind sharing the link for the elephant experience?
Which one was better, Halong bay in Vietnam or Khao Sok? We are planning to travel south east Asia on Feb
Great video
Thank You
Thumbs up 👍
Thanks 👍
Can you please post the name of the elephant sanctuary, couldn't find in the video comments
How do you translate USD to Thai money? Is there a cheat sheet you could post? :)
Thank you for the great video!
exchange rates fluctuate constantly. your best bet is asking google
Hi there I’m looking at going to Thailand for the first time, but I don’t know where to go first either Pattaya or Bangkok
Look at places you would like to visit and plan accordingly. People usually plan Bangkok for 2 days and Pattaya for 3 Days

Hi is there anyone traveling solo from
November onward? I’m going there solo
thanks! how do I get the eSim?
Online
Nice video
From USA I have WhatsApp when I landed , do I still have to get SIM card?
Yes, if you want to travel anywhere outside the airport
Yes for data mostly
Making mistakes are part of the journey 🙏 not many people use WhatsApp. Maybe some businesses with European customers. Thai use line
Everyone uses WhatsApp

I agree. Nobody focuses on the disabled
There's a nice video by a Swiss disabled man who lives in Thailand.
im a lake cafe, yoga zen person
7:44 I was not ready for her. 😅
Thailand is #3 in the world for having the most 7_11. USA is #4 in the world.
Did you experience problems when brushing your teeth with tap water? Never heard of that.
In BKK, I brush my teeth with tap water everday and no problem so far. But for drinking I buy from supermarket nearby.
No
Use common sense. Don't swallow the water
Think this guy might be from the USA, he might have mentioned it once or twice...
Never exchange cash in your country... they can bring cash and exchange it in Thailand... they gonna have more
you say Thailand has 2 seasons and dont say when, which months, 😂😂
$45.00 in Chiang Mai for a meal?? No thanks!
#20: "Meg and I's personal favorite." So, "I's"? Seriously? A native English speaker who thinks that "my" can be replaced by "I's"?

You and all other youtubers don't ever consider the disabled 😢
I really cant listen to your voice for that long bro sorry
😂
Anyone who uses bro to someone they don't know and also isn't related is best kept in a cupboard somewhere very remote
@@Murphyjo1970 okay thanks for the info bro
