I have a Legion Go and a PS5, between buying a PS5 Pro and a Onexgpu 2, I'll stick with the egpu, at least I'll be able to play RDR2 on ultra, while on PS5Pro I'll continue with the PS4 version. You're right about the price of a gaming laptop for the same price I can get an equivalent or higher computer, but for those of us who work 8 hours a day in front of a PC, it's a nightmare to sit in front of a PC in our free time, even if it's just to play. Torque screw is better than Phillip's for longevity of the screw. It's better if the user aways opens his steamdeck, it is less prone from stripping.

why not just use chris titus's debloating tool? look it up. it's an AIO tool made with powershell. it even allows you to batch install needed apps and block features and drivers update through windows update to avoid windows's typical clown behaviour. Drivers should always be managed manually anyways, i've had moments where windows pushed older drivers on top of new ones and it broke windows

If you are really into portable gaming, if this is your wheelhouse, then you need 32 gigs of RAM. You just got to have it. The only place to really get it is from China. So be it. I’ve purchased multiple devices shipped from China. It’s mostly a seamless process. If you are not hardcore about this platform then I don’t know why you would even bother. You’d prolly just stick with a steam deck. But if you are hypothetically willing to play “top dollar” for something premium, don’t buy this. You need that RAM. It makes a ridiculous stupid insane difference when it comes to handheld gaming. “Night & day” doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling of getting your hands on 32 gigs of RAM. Not 24. We are talking 32 gigs or bust.

With a modded switch you can get it to run 60 fps almost all the time

Because I already have an Ally, I'll pass at this time. It's not enough of a upgrade to be worth jumping on, especially with the next gen stuff coming down the pipeline. But if you're really wanting to get in and don't have anything like it yet, I can absolutely see going for the X.

I wish handheld diy also had plates for the X. So I'll have to look elsewhere, and I really liked that one.

You know what I find interesting. These iPhones are around $1300 and the majority of customers purchase them just because that’s the thing to purchase…..little Do they know why it costs so much….. they have no idea that they have a machine more powerful than a PlayStation 4 that can play ridiculously high quality AAA games on a beautiful top-notch, 120 Hz OLED display. lol. So majority of the traditional buyers don’t even have a clue and it’s frustrating to me. and it makes me think that Apple needs to release their own version of backbone or something to open up the eyes for these people. It’s incredible that I can lay down on my bed and play this graphically intensive game like death stranding with a backbone and my iPhone 16 Pro Max. The world needs to know WHY It’s important that Apple keeps coming up with the most powerful CPU and GPU’s ever in Mobile devices. Now eventually, AI will also require some of this power, so it won’t all go to waste for the typical consumer but for now it’s just awesome for gaming and people need to know about it. 👋

I had the same problems with my 6850 XG, i tried for over a week to get it to connect, it did only once for 50 seconds and then it disconnected to never be connected again. Nothing i did would result in any function such as video out. I had to return mine. One of the worst products i have ever experienced in my whole life 👎

Just as an addition that I don’t think came across clear enough in the final edit. All tests were done with the eGPUs routed through OCulink and to an external monitor. Additionally they were tested in their highest performance modes. The laptop GPUs were tested with Nvidia advanced Optimus and Optimus, thus routing the display directly to the dGPU eliminating performance bottlenecks. With the exception of 3DMark, Cyberpunk RT, Returnal and Callisto Protocol, these were done via USB 4 AND OCulink for a performance degradation comparison between the two standards. Hope this helps!

Idk man my system runs cooler and better seems like with it off. The temps spiking up just doesn’t justify the small gain on some games.

Would you mind sharing if you think that games look better in the Iphone 15 Pro Max than on Steam Deck? Because Iphone has a higher resolution and more than double than Steam Deck's PPI I wonder if games would look better, specially for streaming. Kinda sucks because I have an Iphone 15 Pro and now I might get an Iphone 15 ou 16 Pro Max (Tested my wife's Iphone 14 Pro Max and games streamed through Moonlight look a lot better than on my nonMax Iphone). Amd apu will gain really small performances with overclock… instead they will produce a lot of heat to push out 5 more fps… and also the battery will drain in 30 minutes of gameplay.
