Aberlour A'Bunadh VS Glenfarclas 105
I've just purchased my 2nd bottle of Bowmore 12, I like it as much as I like Dalmore 12bt both at 40abv is a little disappointing.
He aqui un nuevo seguidor. Definitivamente uno de estos dias hare una maraton.
I just watched your Deanston review, and I wrote a comment recommending this due to your reference to Old Pultney. I’m glad you enjoyed this. This was my first drink of Scotch whisky, and at the time, I didn’t like it. That salt taste was so strong, it really put me off. Luckily I kept the bottle, and some months later I tried it again. It was so good. I’ve almost finished the bottle, so perhaps I should get a new one and see if the first sip is equally salty. Great review.
Brazil: 12y is R$525 ($95 USD) and 18y is R$1300($240) I know it is the double of price at the rest of world, but our socialist government is doing a good job of stealing of us.
Great video. I’m drinking some Glen Moray Twisted Vine (Cognac) at the moment, which is also very subtle. I’m not loving it, but it’s drinkable. I’m on the hunt for sone of this Glenmorangie also, and think I’ll really enjoy it when I get some. Great channel. Thanks
Pronounciation was right here 2:29
Amazing in only 2 years since this video came out the Buna 12 was $49.99 it is now as of 6-06-2024 $85.99 it's still a winner in my book, but it's hard to shell out for it.
I bought it a few days ago(June 2024),here in Germany,it was €37. They are killing you with those prices.
Ok. I am giving Glen Garioch 17 Renaissance a hard look. Problem is almost no one has reviewed it. Have you had it? The other I’m looking at is the Glen scotia 18. Btw. I believe the days of $80 18 yr old scotch is over. We’re all feeling uncomfortable when opening the wallet for just about any bottle nowadays.
May 2024 $54 at Walmart liquor. It's the best Scotch ever imo
Canadian Pricing 2024: 12 year $90 18 year $400 25 year $2500 40 year $14000
Love the Uigeadail. I feel like it's the Ardbeg equivalent of the Glenmorangie Signet.
Love the idea of the candied orange peel 👏👏👏👏👍 . Beautiful lady by the way, wow 😋👏👏👏👏👏
Ok first of all, thank you for this video. I searched extensively for a bottle of this today and found one. I’m blown away by it. I’m also a bit biased because I’m Portuguese lol. I’m a beginner in scotch and I loved almost everything about this one and it immediately became my new favorite. But then I quickly found out that it was a limited release. So I am happy that you compared the two and I know there is something else out there like it. Thank you again.
*Well done very pleasant video to watch and have a Highland Park 12 myself!*
BTW....glad to have found your channel, as have the same Sherry preference in a Scotch. 👍 Great channel, mate!
Actually, the correct pronunciation is, "edra-door"...with rolling the "r" at the end, Spanish style. Know, as was at the distillery in 2001, & the head distiller there, came to our table & we had a wee chat! Was a magical visit, will never forget...as well as still one of best Scotch's ever tasted! Try a wee dram, then you'll know. 😎
Couldn't finish watching due to the absolutely annoying lip smacking.
I wish you were still doing reviews. Your channel is terrific.
dude your reviews - all the ones i have watched have been great. Hope you come back and get back to it.
Thanks man ... Appreciate it. I would be surprised if I don't get around to one or two this winter .... I wish there were just more hours in the day ... Lol ... Cheers!
Agreed.
The Highland Park 18 is $139 in my area too and it' been sitting on the shelf for months getting dusty. For $139, I think I can find a better Scothch with a bit more ABV - at least 46%. Glen Scotia Victoriana for one.
Agreed .... It's pretty good stuff, but that price opens up a lot of other options. Cheers Mark!
You have made a very fair comparison. Being a less expensive whisky does not mean no quality at all.
Could not agree more!
Thanks for the review. I started drinking both Glenlivet 12 and Glenfiddich 12 more than 40 years ago when I attended a lot of parties and weddings. They're both mild and pleasant tasting bottles that I have no problem enjoying. The good news is that both are budget friendly compared to other competitors in the Scotch field where other brands are almost double the price.
Ive been sipping the glenfiddich 12 lately. I pick up on sherry a lot more than you do. it comes off a little perfumey, which I dont love, but it doesnt turn me away either. caramel, fruit medley, and i pick up on oak. not my favorite speyside, but enjoyable.
Yummy delicious! Enjoyed with my buddy last night. New favorite
The 18 is $139 in my area, and the 12 is $65. I haven't tried either one but have been eyeing the 18. Generally, I try to stay under $100 excluding tax. I do enjoy the Oban 14, which sits around $95.
Highland Park 18 is worth your money
I wish you were still making videos! I enjoy them so much! Your analysis of single malts is amazing! Who doesn't love the Ardbeg Ten, UIG and Corey?!! I love many but I tend to stick to the core lineup! Hope you might start the reviews again! Be well! Cheers! Love the warm, peated Islay whiskies this time of year!! 🙂Oh, Lagavulin 16 was my entryway into Islay peated single malts and I immediately came to love, love, love Ardbeg, Laphroaig and so many peated expressions! I love unpeated too but I have to say I prefer peated expressions! Over time I seem to be going for the more elegant and the peated scotch can be quite elegant! Bunna is also fabulous - peated and non peated! Cheers!
Love your reviewing style. I have watched countless whisky reviewers on here and so far you're my favourite! And I love both these malts, but would give my gold medal to the Bunna - just!
I feel A’Bundah is “better”. It’s smoother and slightly more Sherry. 105 is great but A’Bundah (in most batches) pips it. However, in UK 105 is £20 cheaper these days so a bargain.
Great review
This video popped up on the front page of YT today. Was good to rewatch. Now I need to find a bottle. :) Hope all is going well you. Cheers!
Great review! I just got the Quinta Ruban about a month ago and agree. It’s a wonderful 14 year at a relatively great price. It’s a bit on the sweet side which makes it good for a dessert drink or for a guest that’s not too into whisky.
Freaking great review!! I’ve been debating picking this up. Sounds like a winner.
Bunna 12 for hyped and its nowhere to be found for less than 80
Really? I bought it a few days ago,for €37.
My guy Binny's has a Signatory vintage Edradour 10 year at cask strength 59.1% abv and its a game changer
In your summary describing the 'little bit extra' I think you pretty much described non-chill filtered.
Great review, Power's John's lane 12 is much tastier than 90 % of Scotch, i definitely prefer it than Glenalachie,Arran,Springbank.
its got a watery mouth feel and quite a lot of burn ...though drinkable after some time in the glass and definitely needs water....
Terrific review and so appreciated! Thank you! Very enjoyable! Cheers! 🙂
In late July 2023, a bottle costs $70 in Virginia. Update: in late June 2024, a bottle costs $80 in Virginia state stores.
I purchased a bottle of this yesterday. Last night was the neck pour. Let it sit half an hour, form my own opinions & its a decent dram. Well now Im adding a little water, letting sit half an hour or more & that sour pepperiness, turns into a kind of sour pineapple - its opened up & really delicious, this is its best form in my opinion. Kind of like Aultmore or Balblair with water ( not as complex, but the same base note )
This is a pretty good whiskey
Great review
Thanks Jack! … cheers!
I just picked up a bottle of this today, I like this better than the redbreast 12, Cheers
Hey Scott, I have to say it’s very close for me … there are some days that I feel it’s a bit better too. Either bottle and I’m pretty happy! Cheers!
Great review. I'll be looking for those. Thank you
Thanks Nestor! Hope you enjoy them … cheers!
Thanks for the video, I am looking to buy either of these. In my area, the Aberlour is anywhere from $20 - $30 CHEAPER than the 105 ($90 - $100 for AB vs $120 for the 105), so I was already leaning toward the A'BUNADH (currently on sale in NH for $85) and your excellent caomparison review has sealed my decision.
Thanks James! …. I hope you enjoy it, I bet you will. It’s still one of the best “sherry bombs” readily available out there in my opinion…. Cheers!
just want to add to the conversation by saying that i got a 2022 bottling one myself and I am rather disappointed. the dram comes off with a little more heat than expected... and instead of the dark, broody stewed fruit note that I associate with Glendronach, I got more of a cherry note that reminds me of bourbon.
That’s too bad Clive …. Sucks when you pay out that much cash for a bottle and it doesn’t live up …. Give it a month or so now that it’s open …. Maybe it’ll open up a bit … fingers crossed. Cheers!
@@happyhourwhiskey hi hi, it's all good~ just putting my experience out there so people have more information to make their own purchase decision. thank you for your awesome review though ~
I prefer the gold to the three swallows ... by quite a margin too. Better body
Interesting … I need to taste side by side … cheers!
Great review! I used to be a Yellow Spot guy until I bought a bottle of this. The flavor profile is every bit as good as Yellow Spot but with an even better mouth feel and much longer finish. Also, the price in my market (SE Michigan) is $45 less than Yellow Spot. This is my new daily drinker thanks to you!
Glad you found it! … it’s a great one … one of my favorites too! Cheers!
Glenlivet 12 was my first scotch and I really like it. Getting some Glenfeddich 12 today just to see how it is.
I hope you enjoy it Ross! …. I think you will .. cheers!
I love the glenfiddich 12 it's a consistent dram and full of fresh flavour
Agree! … can’t go wrong .. cheers Matt!
