Another great video and another bottle added to my pickup list. When I discovered your channel, 99% of my collection was bourbon and rye. I no longer hunt those. For the last month or so, its all Scotch and Irish. My bank account has about had enough of my hunting trips. Looking forward to your next review.

I was quite impressed with my 12 as I picked it up on a whim and like you say, the price to taste ratio is very good and punches well above its weight. In my opinion blows the likes of Macallan 12 Sherry Oak out of the water for literally half the price. If you read the back of the box, you get a little more insight into what makes it stand apart with the use of different stills and marrying peated and unpeated spirits in a combination of barrels. my 03/2020 bottle of the 12 tasted and smelled like a steaming pile of blueberry pancakes covered in butterscotch syrup when it was first open. after being open for 16 months its almost empty and is more representative to the packagings flavor notes of apple, pear and peach with the pancake note (being a combo of the peat and malt) being a little more rounded and less lively changing to peach cobbler or sliced apple wrapped in crepes drizzled with simple syrup. I got the 18 a few months ago and it is similar but with noticeable differences. tradeoffs of less fruit and more wood and again changing the malty bread character closer to a sourdough yeast. I can say from experience it goes well with a mild cigar and at $70 it cant be beat, all things considered. Neither seem super sherried to me until you add a few drops of water and then the bitter chocolate comes out along with some barrel spice. Seriously underrated bottles. Oh well, more for us!

Nice review of your bottle. Definite buy the next time I'm out and about. Have to admit, "steaming pile" usually ends up in a totally different direction.....but if its "of blueberry pancakes covered in butterscotch syrup", I'm down. :)

Great tasting notes here … I really think the flavor changed with my bottle over time. I’m really impressed with what these guys are doing and I am looking forward to grabbing the 18. Like you said, it’s probably the cheapest 18 year old I have seen and if it’s anything like the 12 … well .. we should probably stop talking about it and keep it for ourselves .. lol .. cheers brother!

I get passionfruit on the nose on this dram and its got the funkiest nose which I love. The palate is delicious and Loch Lomand are doing some experimenting with casks and stills that is worth checking out for the price.

I do like loch Lomond, I have also recently discovered Glengarry and I believe they get their stuff from loch Lomond.

Oh interesting, I am not familiar with Glengarry, I will have to keep my eye out! Thanks for the tip Magnus. Cheers!

Interesting...now I'm not sure who gets their stuff from who. While reading up on Lock Lomond, I seem to remember seeing something about Glengarry Scotch is produced at Loch Lomond. Either way...what I read about Glengarry sounds pretty darn good as well. Thanks for the info Magnus. Which one of the Glengarry's do you have?

@@hundyproof5925 so I just recently got their super cheap blended one, which was okay, but once I finished that I got the single malt version, very good. Both had a little smoke at the end too. I would not have even tried either of these if it wasn't for my area running out of the loch Lomond 12.

Loch LomAnd?? :D That's what happens when you drink every day... ;) Either way, I don't like it very much, so no harm done. And speaking of ugly packaging - I saw one of the Glencadams on your shelf - in my opinion, these are some great liquids that don't necessarily jump out at you in a store, so maybe you could review this one for us? Cheers!

lol ... Yes, Glencadam definitely does not jump out at you on the shelf, in fact I don't even think its that available near me. I recently purchased a sample pack of the 10, 15, 21 from overseas just for heck of it. Well, spoiler alert, I just received my order of 10, 13, 15, 21 and an IB 10 bottles ..... so I guess I thought they were OK ;-) .... definitely on the list for reviews. Cheers Kaliban!
