First time having a bottle here in Glasgow, Scotland. Like a comment above, cannot go wrong for £24! (On offer from £34). Great nose and taste. Will buy again 👍🏼
This bottle didn't last long its just moreish, the flavors are subtle and sweet but its unique. I have several expressions including a cask strength edition and its like drinking hot salted caramel very nice. Great review mate
Cheers Dan! .... Me too. I have a couple independent bottling's at cask strength as well as the 17 and 18 .... I just love them all ..... you said it, subtle but unique.
A solid review of a solid dram. Easily taken for granted but it holds its own against bottles near double the price. Agree it is not super complex but a great step out of beginner terriorty. Cheers!
Have you had any experience with the 15? One just popped up near me and I'm thinking of picking it up as my first Old Pultney since I know it wont last long on the shelf.
I have not … I have 12, clipper, 17 (have not cracked yet) and a 12 signatory cask strength. They are all great in my opinion and would pick up the 15 immediately if I saw it on the shelf. I have found the profile consistent from the ones I have tried and really enjoy it. If you grab it let me know what you think . Cheers!
@@happyhourwhiskey Will do! I know you quite like Bunnahabhain 12 as well and from what I taken away from other reviews is that the general profile of Old Pultney makes it seem almost like the Bunna of the mainland with its full range of character(minus the prominent sherry bit of Bunna 12 of course). Would you agree? In my collection so far, Bunnahabhain just really stands apart from the crowd in my opinion and if Old Pultney is similar than I'd be even more confident with the purchase.
@@Du57yx91630n5 that is an interesting analogy…. I like it … Pulteney definitely has the brine character similar to the bunna. If you like the the cereal, malty sweetness of Ex bourbon aged whiskies and the brine/salty notes in bunna then you should give it a go … if you don’t like it you can always send it to me and I will dispose of it for you .. lol … good luck!
The bunna is much richer and deeper in flavor I think thanks to sherry influence. Loch Lomand is also a little denser and “thicker” feeling. Pulteney is more your classic ex bourbon aged “lighter” whisky …. Because of that probably, I get the salty notes a little more because there are less dense flavors battling with it. I enjoy all three. Cheers! Kaliban…
Ι found this description full of honest.
I will buy it thanks to you..
God bless you..
Cheers!
I really hope you enjoy it Giannis! … Cheers!

Thanks Jeff! …. I agree, a great step up from your obvious standards … I always have a good experience when cracking a bottle of OP12 … cheers!
Great review. I still have an unopened bottle of the 12 year old I bought 3 years ago. I look forward to opening it.
Very cool! … I hope you enjoy it, I think you will :-). … cheers Kevin!
24 Great British Pounds mate - very good value in the UK. Nothing wrong with it.
I wish we had you pricing over here .. cheers!

Salty sweetness... How does it taste compared to Bunna and... Loch Lomaaaaand maybe? :D

$79CAD
As a fellow Canadian I can commiserate with pricing up north of the border. Hang in there and sip slowly… lol … cheers!
It's $59.99 CAD in Manitoba (Canada). Priced better elsewhere but it's still a repeat buy here with no hesitation!
That’s a fair price in my opinion …. Cheers TJ!
