Specialized Roval CLX Team Edition Unboxing
I think Specialized really nailed race gravel bike with Crux. Super lightweight and yet no pita proprietary parts like D-shaped seatpost and shaped interal routing handlebar. And yet Crux can fit bigger tires than Checkmate, at least for the newest model. Lauf Seigla is another race bike (Rigid model would be closest) that's well designed for normal users. But the new Checkpoint is definitely a better bike than Diverge, which still isn't UDH.
Prepare to get flats if you’re running those tires. You look at a sharp rock wrong and they lose air.
What shifter - derailleur combo have you used
I own the same bike and I was wondering if it was possible to install the 3-step suspension remote. How did you do that? 🤯You only have to install the remote and cable or is there anything else you have to change in the suspension?
For myself, that model, it's amazing 🤩
Thinking of a roubaix myself… did you size down or differently due to the future shock height adding stack? Also I’m a hair under 5’7 so was thinking 49!
Looks like a Retro-Futuristic bike from the 90's if that makes any sense. LOVE IT.
Dude just can't let her talk... it's driving me insane. It is her bike. Just let her talk about it and stop mansplaining.
It’s not that serious man. We’re filming these with no script. It’s completely off the cuff and we’re getting better at it. I just rewatched it and there’s tons of moments where chase interrupted me also. Maybe you should ask her if she felt mansplained to instead of assuming that’s how she felt.
Terrible fit 😮
Let’s see some ride footage…Come on!
It’s on the way! Follow Chase on Instagram (@chase_thebicyclestation) to see more of the bike - she’ll be posting some ride footage coming up. Later on we’ll have a full review of the bike on the channel once she gets more miles on it
1x absolute crap
I’ve been running di2 2x and I think it’s kinda crap
@@bicyclestationgoes to show you know nothing about bikes
It’s just outdated. Like why does it have 3 buttons on the lever to shift the front. You barely press it. It lowers the tire clearance of the bike and makes it heavier. What’s your reason for running a 2x
Bike is dope. Love the channel
Terrible camera work. Why not just set the camera up on a tripod? We're here to see the bike over anything else.
If I set the camera up on a tripod with a static shot you wouldn’t see the bike. What you’re saying makes no sense.
@bicyclestation Plenty of other RUclipsrs are successful at it. Maybe watch a few bike build videos and get an idea of how it should be done.
What we’re doing is working. Maybe being different is a good thing? I don’t wanna make the same videos as everyone else.
@bicyclestation I didn't say copy them lol Just give you some ideas on how to improve your filming. Probably why your subs to views are so low. Hey, it's your choice. I just can't watch your videos, which is a shame because you have some great bikes on here lol
Hallo from Poland
Most importantly; do all those New Era hats say Specialized under the bill? Any online photos I see none have an underside photo
I have one of the original ones. The new ones done unfortunately. Best hat ever.
Would you all recommend the epic 8 evo for a 250+lb rider? I’ve had a few fs bikes and hardtails. Curious to know your take? Thanks!
L or XL???
Voice of reason: if you aren't racing professionally and you're not riding terrain where a mountain bike would be a better choice anyhow, you don't *need* 50 mm clearance.
But what if they want that? Your totally right other then that trek markets this as an all out racing bike. We have to review it under that context.
Having large tire clearance also negates the penalty of running full or clip on fender for bikepacking and muddy environments.
I rarely go off road but I want to upgrade my current commuter bike to something faster and snappier. Would this work for lets say 90% road use and maybe some light light gravel for someone who wants to go fast on their morning commute?
The pictures Witch represent the italians are disgusting
Not trying to offend anyone but just curious what the issue is. Pauly D is awesome. I used to watch Jersey shore every week as a kid.
How did the togs for twistlock work out?
They don’t really. I just had it off to the side of the lock
They’re heavy. That’s it.
Hmm amazing bike but… It’s half a build video designed as an advertisement for your store, but no assembly grease used anywhere!? and if you don’t even know your actually saddle height measurements and randomly ride around to find out, it doesn’t inspire confidence in your potential customers ordering the correct bike to fit!
This whole channel is an advertisement for my shop. We’re super up front about that. Assembly grease is used all over the bike. You can see it in multiple clips in this video. Chase hasn’t had a bike fit since her pregnancy and is just starting to ride consistently again. I’m sure she will get a bike fit soon but idk why that would be an issue for customers.
Cuttthroat has similar clearance but that is suspension corrected.
I wish qbp didn’t own salsa lol
@@bicyclestation any reason?
Super nice bike. Ready for Hardtail. But why this pedals? Not for this bike. Its my Opinion! Thanks for the video!!🤙
No clue. That’s what the customer asked for lol
I test rode a 3T racemax this summer and I felt a zero gravity feeling when I rode over a dip in the road, I've never exsperienced that before and I can't stop thinking about it. I been bikeless since August and my life feels meaningless at the moment. I def want a 3t for my next bike
It definitely has a distinct ride feeling! Let us know if you want to get a Racemax ordered!
I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around why 3T decided to give these bikes such an unbelievably tall stack height, and I think I’ve determined that they must’ve designed this bike around riding in the drops a lot. I guess that makes sense for the single track riding they say this was designed for. Still kind of a bummer that it’s close to impossible to get a good race position on these bikes without going down a size or two and running a giant long dong stem
I 100% agree. That’s why I don’t have one. For chase that’s less of a concern but it’s still a big bike for her
I’m also wondering why so many ‘gravel’ bikes have such tall stack heights. I suspect there’s a mtb/cyclocross design logic/bias that has crept in, even though these are basically just dirt road bikes. But for the majority of customers, an upright, long ride comfort position does make sense, but I wouldn’t consider it a race position.
I concur. I'm in what I'd consider the target market for this bike(as a prior 3T Strada owner, aero nerd, and not opposed to dropping too much money on a frame), yet there is zero way I could get this bike to work for me in any size... Their stack is about 30mm "too high" and the reach lengths simply too short. Their listed stack doesn't even factor in the 12mm of required headset dust cover/spacers. On top of that, the obligatory -6d stem on a 69d HTA means you're gaining even more stack.
Yall are speaking my language. I try not to complain too much on camera to not discourage people who like tall and short geo. But it’s insane haha. I’m confident allied will get the geometry right with the new able
@@bicyclestation Previous Allied owner, so again, I’d love to love them, but if they stick to their current internal routing(Echo and Alfa) that’s a complete non-starter for me. It truly is the worst routing setup I’ve seen. Again you’re locked into their proprietary stem which you need multiple sizes of spanner wrenches to change. It’s a big miss from a company that makes their own forks!
Lauf Seigla clears mtb tires but i get it direct to consumer not in your wheelhouse
It’s definitely in my wheelhouse from a content perspective. I just would need for them to send me one sense I can’t buy one for wholesale
as much as those tires look cool on that frame…… and they “fit” …if there was any mud to be seen, that frame is gonna get traaaaaaaaashed.
Ya we mentioned that in the video. Originally we were going to put 2.25 Aspen ST’s on but the shipment got delayed. We had these around and wanted to see if they would fit.
Mine came in 8 weeks
The 51s were massively delayed. The 56 we got took 6 months. I think the lead time is fixed now
I just ordered my poor man’s version I got a 3T rival ultra for 1800 shipping and taxes included. Was on sale for 3800. I can’t believe I found a carbon under 2k. I’m excited to ride it Wednesday
Bike looks to big, the 51 is likely a seat tube measurement that would be my size I'm 5'8"
It’s big. We are still working on the fit for Chase. The 56 was too big for me.
Wow! This build is sick. Love the frame and your wheel / tire combo. Enjoy the sweet ride. ✨
Looks like the "Mad Max" Edition, love it!
Hey! Do you still have some of those 170 3T cranksets? I'd love to get one
Shoot us an email. We have it available if you want it
The lack of clearance with those tires is gonna kill that frame
We talked about this in the video - the tires we wanted were backordered so we tossed these on to see if they would fit. They did, but they would be changed for muddy conditions. Good thing tires are easy to change out!
Semi internal is the way to go I don't wanna route cables thru headsets
btw those 3T wheels are manufactured by Nextie (experienced chinese OEM manufacturer), and you can get those exact wheels for half the price with DT240s for half the price if you buy direct from them
@@ynslife where did you get the info ? Plus the weight is not similar with the ones from 3T
@anothervisionofthings its a known fact 3T don't make their own wheels. Those rims are Nextie AGX45 look it up. Weight might differ depending on which spokes/hubs are used
This is a great info! I wonder if this would be better buy than Elite wheels...
dang it dude, that bike is sick!
looks incredible
This is one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen. If I had 12k to burn I would be picking one of these up.
You guys are always on the cutting edge. It's why I'm here
try to find different dropper :) for sure there are some XC style 100m or 75mm droppers that can work with the small intrusion allowed here!
Endurance? The bike in M/L is With the integrated cockpit included longer in reach than the Madone in ML. Which is a racing bike. Further the Seat mast in M/L is too long for the riders which Trek believes are the target group (about 1m72-178). I rode this one in M/L like me Madone and it’s a good bike for racing and not for endurance target group unless you Ride a ton of spacers and replace the cockpit.
Love the continuous fiber carbon, tech that actually matters. That's carbons number one strength so when frame makers bond sections of tubes it defeats the purpose.
650 wheels?
This one has 700c
Looks like the angle/tilt/level is REALLY hard to set 🤣 Great review though. I am sold.
Hi guys (and gals, hehe)! I've been thinking about getting either an 3T Extrema or ENVE MOG. As you own both (I think so at least?) it would be incredible if you could do a comparison between these two bikes! I would love to see what you think of them compared to one another and also how they compare in terms of performance and comfort
+
Did we get a frame weight. Loving all the videos from you all.
ive been lookin alot at this bike, unfurtantly out of my budget
