Color looks super cool, the paint shift looks almost identical to the new epic 8 s-works color. But with the whole frame painted, not seeing the carbon beneath
@@bicyclestation Difference in wheel sizes are 170g - set of pedals around 350g. Have checked Trek’s website and though they don’t show the weight of the size S they do show size M… and Gen 3 is lighter (70g) than Gen 4 !!! 😄

Slik Graphics will send you perfect fork graphics for $50
Frame storage is great for bear spray 😜
Just put some silver Bicycle Station stickers on the forks! 😉
Was watching the TREK vid on this thinking it sounds an awful lot like my Gen 5 FUEL EX just with more adjustability
Top Fuel Gen 4 vs Trail 429. Which is more fun?
I'm planning on you guys doing a build for me one day so I'm doing research 😉
Buy the silver decals...
What saddle are you running there?
I think the pike ultimate is glossy. The non ultimate are matte with black decals
It’s still an ultimate. It’s just a strange visual choice
Great review. I have a small Trek Fuel EX 9.8. Any suggestions on how to get a water bottle to fit on the small frame. Thanks
It’s really hard. We had to put this bottle shift cage on it and it’s still not great
Side-load bottle cage might help.
What do you guys think of this bike being raced by Riley Amos at MSA? Is it a raceable bike in 120/120 or still way too much of a trail bike?
I looks awesome. The top fuel is raceable but will always lack the second water bottle and be heavier then other options
Dang
I wish I rode a small
You can
Try a 29” front wheel for a mullet ride
I don't think the wheel would fit in this fork
@@bicyclestation so swap it with the fork you already were going to with a 29" wheel up front. that truly would make it a "down country" bike lol
@@MTB_CRZYexactly what I was thinking about
I like the bike, but i don't understand how the frame can be 220g lighter when complete builds weigh the same as before.
It’s probably not. I think it’s dumb they even care when it’s an afterthought for the bike.
Don’t know if you make that assumption based on her bike, but she did weigh the bike with pedals fitted… that’s more than 220g added ! 🙂
It’s 27.5 and the old one was 29. I think that saves more weight then the pedals
