Maybe I am missing something, but the aero advantage of drop bars is mostly in the fact that they are narrower than flat bars, (and you can get lower). Apart from a very small percentage of top level riders, most average riders can not spend a long time in the drops, and mostly ride on the hoods or the flat cross bar. By cutting a flat bar down to the drop bar type widths, using bar ends, and negative stem angles you will get almost the same hand positions and aero benefits “most” riders can achieve with drop bars, but you will maintain the better control with the flat bars. And you can still put tri extension on if you want. So is this drop bar MTB trend really only for elite racers?
Just don’t think drop bars make sense at Chequamagon. The race is tight enough that you’ll likely be drafting which will negate some of those aero gains.
missed opportunity to build up a 29lb State gravel bike with some challenge tires
This is becoming one of my favorite channels to watch 🤣👌🔥
I never watched bike builds before I found y'all but these are always thoroughly entertaining

I have never heard of this guy but I like him. Cool bike.
I have a 19 lb ZHT-5 in my garage that's getting drop bars this winter. So stoked
Awesome Drew!!
Drew is hilarious
I’ve been racing the ZHT as a drop bar bike all year here in California. It’s perfect for those races that fall somewhere in between MTB and gravel.

The Bonk Bros drop in to build a bike for Leadville.
Did he not just say on the last pod that he hated the drop bars and was taking them off? HHAHAH
