may I draw your attention to Wednesday’s Office Reading of the Catholic Church, (2nd Reading by St Bernard of Clairvaux Weds 4th Dec, First week of Advent 2024.) We know that there are three comings of the Lord. The third lies between the other two. It is invisible, while the other two are visible. In the first coming he was seen on earth, dwelling among men; he himself testifies that they saw him and hated him. In the final coming all flesh will see the salvation of our God, and they will look on him whom they pierced. The intermediate coming is a hidden one; in it only the elect see the Lord within their own selves, and they are saved. In case someone should think that what we say about this middle coming is sheer invention, listen to what our Lord himself ways: If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him. In his first coming our Lord came in our flesh and in our weakness; in this middle coming he comes in spirit and in power; in the final coming he will be seen in glory and majesty. MY NOTE BELOW The Intermediary Coming will be via the Global Illumination of Conscience and subsequent indwelling presence of the Trinity enabling the faithful to live in the Divine Will so that it may be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, for a Sabbath rest of a thousand years in the era of peace.

Every time some person declares that animals will just cease to exist when they die, that they don’t have souls, I just think how arrogant they are. God never stated that. You just interpreted that yourself. Not only that, they are attempting to limit God, Who can do anything. It is true that it is different, animals don’t go to the same place as a believer does. But they certainly do not cease to exist. Especially for animals who have touched people’s souls, or have a short and painful life. God is merciful, and purposeful. All good comes from Him. And all animals on this earth are compensated for in death. The Word is all important. But that is for us, to lead us back to Him. It won’t cover animals, because they don’t need it, since they never sinned in the first place. I mention this because those believers always bring the Bible up to disprove animal souls. Listening to the Holy Spirit is important too.

As a professor of Spanish language literature and culture, I taught, or tried to teach this to my students at several different universities, but met with resistance from students who thought they already knew all about Columbus. In hindsight, I would agree that God used him to bring formerly disconnected peoples to come together. We in the Caribbean have learned from the lessons of history. Following our Catholic Church's sacrament of penance, those acts under his watch, undeniably part of our history, cannot be excused in a haze of hero worship. Fact: he was arrested by the Spanish crown for these crimes. No saint here. De Las Casas is the real defender of the native peoples in all this. He later regretted proposing Africans to replace the natives. We are all such imperfect beings, but how can we spin a narrative by focusing on good deeds to the exclusion of the whole picture of our lives? The discovery of the continent was not only thanks to Christopher Columbus' amazing voyage but also thanks to the Spaniards conquerors, supported financially by the Catholic King Fernando de Aragón and Queen Isabel de Castilla, a saint who loved her faith so much that she would visit cloysters to examinate if they lived according to the Catholic faith. She is the one who defended Christianity and issued a document to prohibit any abuse against the Indigenous population remind the Spanish conquerors/explorers that the Natives were human beings with a soul and a human dignity just like them. In the Catholic Hispanic community it is said that Columbus was imprisoned apparently for being abusive but I don't know much about it. All I know is that without the Catholic Church I would't be here, and that there is no Hispanidad without the Catholic Church. I am Catholic, Hispanic, around 50% Indigenous, 40% Iberian+Italian, and the rest of my DNA is a bit African and Sephardic. The Catholic Church did a lot for Indigenous (specially the Jesuits) and their work was unfortunaly destroyed by the freemasonic revolutions. Without the discovery of this continent I would't exist. But as Catholics we have to give credit to the Spaniards, because without them there would not be Catholicism in the American continent. God bless you sister.

Dearest Mother Miriam true daughter of Our Lady. A relative of mine was instrumental in making Columbus Day a national holiday. We have a picture of him with President Taft. Christopher Columbus was a 3rd order Franciscan. After Christopher, which means "Christ-bearer”, read Isaiah, he felt he was being called to convert souls and to go to the ends of the earth to do it. He decided he should go to India to evangelize. He aimed to go to India but, by going around the world from the other side. He obtained funding from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella because the pope had asked the King and Queen to send missionaries to India. They could only afford to do it after the war with the Muslim Moors was over. On January 2nd, 1492, at the battle of Granada, the moors were driven out of Spain. The document for the funding of the voyage was signed at our Lady of Guadalupe in Extremadura SPAIN. This is where the shire that holds the carving by St Luke is. Christopher Columbus’s journals are online, and you can read how much money he got and why he was going on this mission. He set sail on the 6th of September, but the winds were not favorable, so they were lingering just outside the harbor. The favorable winds did not come till September 8th, the birthday of Our Lady. Every night all the crew would come up on deck and sing The Salve Regina; Hail Holy Queen Mother of Mercy our life, our sweetness and our hope. They cited land on October 11th which at that time was the feast of the motherhood of Mary. They landed on October 12, the feast of Our Lady Of the Pillar. The boats for the voyage were; The Nina which means girl. The Pinta which means paints, and the Santa Maria which means Holy Mary. This was an announcement of the coming of Our Blessed Mother to the Americas. It was a prophecy of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. When Our Blessed Mother appeared to Juan Diego, she appeared to him as a young girl. It was this young girl who created the image of Herself on the Tilma. It is She who converted 8 million indigenous people in the Americas. Our lord Prophesied this in the third year of his ministry when He was at the temple. He was Confronted by His enemies and for those who can believe it. I will tell you some of the words of that exchange. The Pharisees and scribes shout: « And who do You expect is going to lift You up? Miserable is that Country whose king is a silly charlatan and a blasphemer disliked by God. He is behind Me and comforts and helps Me and He does not go away because I always do what He likes. God instead goes away when His children do not obey His laws and His inspirations. He then goes away and leaves them all alone. That is why many people in Israel commit sin. Because when man is left to himself, it is difficult for him to remain just and he easily falls into the coils of the Snake. I solemnly tell you that because of your sin in resisting the Light and Mercy of God, He leaves you and will no longer dwell in this place or in your hearts and what Jeremiah grieved over in his prophecies and lamentations will be fulfilled. Meditate on those prophetical words, tremble and return to your senses with good minds. Do not listen to the threats but to the kindness of the Father Who warns His children while they are still granted the possibility to make amends and save themselves. Listen to God in His words and deeds, and if you do not want to believe My words, because old Israel is suffocating you, believe at least in old Israel. Her prophets proclaim the dangers and misfortunes of the Holy City and of all our Fatherland if she does not convert to the Lord her God and does not follow the Saviour. The hand of God weighed heavily on this people in the past. But the past and present are nothing as compared to the dreadful future, which is awaiting it for not accepting the Messenger sent by God."
