I have no one as well. I sit in a pew by myself and have nobody to speak my faith with but I have God and nothing could be greater.

As a 79 year old Catholic I recognize my upbringing and thank God, my parents, and my Priests and Nuns for forming me!
I agree Africa is the hope of the Church. Every priest I’ve encountered from African countries has been exceptional shepherd and very doctrinally sound. The Church grows and seminaries are full there despite lots of persecution of Catholics. God bless these holy priests from Africa!

I'm in AA and grateful for what it has brought to my life. However, I feel that calling God an HP is wrong. Yes God is a higher power but it's not a proper way to express belief in God. I suppose in cases it might be the best we can do. It's so sad. God help us. Holy Mary pray for us.

found a good one, but a few communistic parisioners ratted our priest-out during CV...then he was brutally persecuted, then when a huge majority of parishioners stood up for him...cancelled...😢

Unfortunately you have no understanding of the teaching of Christ as handed down from Jesus, He founded His Church the Catholic Church. Men separated themselves into splitter groups in essence stating they know better than Jesus about His Church. Thus putting thenselves above God as it does not fit into their minds. Regarding Peter who was called Cephas, a stone, and the Church here is what Peter wrote also inspired by GOD as follows:

4 To Whom coming, as unto a living stone (ROCK/Petros), disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of GOD, and precious,

Also, here is a description by Peter of true believers that make up the true Church which is not a palace in Rome:
9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of HIM Who has called you out of darkness into HIS marvelous LIGHT"
Therefore, the Church according to Peter is spiritual made up of believers and each believer is a king and a priest in the true Church who are saved by grace through faith, a gift of GOD, and not of any works (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV).

British politician George Galloway, former Marxist Leninist has spoken to Pope Francis and asked him to remove restrictions on the Latin Mass. He described the Latin Mass as “poetry in motion”. One of the great strengths a of the “Old” Mass was its appeal to all regardless of social class, wealth, how smartly a person dressed and regardless of politics.

I knew he was a Labour Party M-P (Labor is a 3rd party here in USA but seems to have a decent platform), retired in 2015 & is now returning to politics. I was thrilled to learn that, cannot wait to hear him on C-SPAN! LOL that's at 7 AM EST.
I also never knew he was Catholic! 😇👍 I converted in 1996, best decision I ever made. Most Christians don't know Jesus was somewhat of a socialist, however one in all the right ways, if I may be so bold. My family was Independent conservative far back as I can recall & we voted for Donald Trump. I'm leaning towards Robert F. Kennedy Jr. this time, seem to relate to him more on a personal level. In any case I'm no longer Right vs Left; there is only right or wrong! LOL if George Galloway were American I'm betting he'd win any office in a literal landslide! 😊🥂

Socialism is absolutely not what Christ taught. He taught Charity to your neighbor. The difference between the two is that one is entirely voluntary and born from a heart filled with the desire to serve his fellow man, while the other is born from envy on one side and sloth on the other. Those who support socialism in the lower economic strata are covetous, while those who support it in the upper economic strata want somebody to force the issue so that they don’t have to do the hard work of dismantling their own greed.
To put this more simply Socialism offloads the work of the spiritual life unto the government, where it inevitably fails to actually achieve what people wish because the root cause of the problem remains. That being hardness of heart and unwillingness to follow the Lord’s example. A society that has a strong connection to the teaching of God needs nothing more, as the fruits of the Gospel produce abundance. You can’t regulate men to charity.
Socialism also inevitably leads to Communism which is absolutely godless, because that is the very purpose of socialism in Marx’s teaching. It’s an interim between capitalism and communism nothing more. You cannot be Catholic and Socialist at the same time. Anyone who claims to be isn’t firm on one of those positions because they counteract each other. One encourages giving without counting the cost which in removes the impetus for socialism in the first place, while the other encourages secular governments to divide the work of all people and distribute the bare minimum amongst the common masses.
@@My10thAccount Some of that I agree with & some of it I don't. I'm guessing you're much younger than me (almost 60). You certainly are educated, well read & well spoken. TBH I've come to realize that communism & capitalism are 2 sides of the same ugly coin (this is from a Catholic writer, not me).

You may wish to watch &/or read about Fr. Charles Coughlin who was rather famous during the USA's Great Depression. He was pastor at The Shrine of the Little Flower then in Royal Oak, Michigan. There are those who feel that they have become better Catholics by practicing Hinduism. Hinduism encourages devotion. As Catholic churches are becoming more closed, my Catholic friend has taken me to Hindu temples. A Hindu ascetic at the Durga Temple of Westchester put a red dot on our foreheads and blessed us. He served us tea and snacks. He said that there is no Hindu god or Christian god only God. Of course, I focus on true God always.
@joecrow2847 I am not Hindu. Yes there are Hindu deities. They are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. However, they are 1 God with 330 million names, not 330 million gods. Hinduism is derived from Jainism and also the Tamil culture.
And they were not originally depicted realistically similar to Byzantine icons that are not realistically depicted either.

Orthodox here. Please do not compare iconography with pagan idols. Icons are the bible written in coded graphism. Not idols.

@@Hope_Boat They are both nonrealistic depictions. I left Orthodoxy due to its ethnocentristic mentality.
Also Hindus don't consider their deities to be idols and don't consider themselves polytheistic.
Many reject realistic depictions of their deities also as it is a sign of a temporary existence.
And that is why most of their deities are depicted nonrealistically although it is unfortunate that many also have realism due to Western colonial influence that they are now trying to shake off with Modi.
