    Hello Gael, It's a shame you didn't try Foil Drive with a proper pump board and foil. Hit me up if you want to join me for a session, I will change your mind about Foil Drive ;) I have learned pumping with Foil Drive and it's a perfect tool for that. My progression was much faster than anyone learning pumping by dockstarting for many reasons (no driving to a dock, no swimming back to the dock, etc.). At the end of the day, Foil Drive is a way to get some speed to get on foil, exactly like running on a dock. Once you are on foil, you do whatever you want, and it can be pumping. I recently made a video summarizing my journey ruclips.net/video/VVa0_FHGYOI/видео.html

    No it's not worth it had the v1 and V2 and it's stays in my garage when I go to the beach. I wanted to like it but foils are so good now it doesn't take much wind to wingfoil or waves to prone or downwind these days and it's so much more fun without the hassle and extra 5Kg

    Love your content! As owner of gen 2 FD I agree, especially being accurate to stay high on the mast. Dropping that cable down definitely helps, I’m running mine at 12.5cm and that battery box adds 5 cm to your mast height so you could go a 28 inch mast to help with stability. So if purely pumping round on a lake the FD is not what you want. Now if you are prone surfing then the FD shines! Basically think of it as a JetSki and you don’t have to wait your turn! I can go out any condition, any tide and getting 30+ waves a session. No brainer if you have the money! Cheers for all your vids. ❤

    If you want to learn how to pump, I would say buying a wing and a wingboard is a better choice, because you need to pump to take off, and the lower wind you go, the more you have to pump if you have a big foil, no motor having drag in the water and board and wing is still cheaper than a foildrive. You need a spot with a bit of wind, yeah, but you're not limited by battery runtime. Of course, if you just have a small lake with no wind available, its hard to learn wingfoiling there, but with the right gear its impressive how low wind is possible. This summer I (70kg) tried the Gong Sirus XXL 152cm, and was able to fly in 4-6kn wind, with lots of pumping in between because the wind dropped to almost 0 sometimes.

    I am so glad watching your content because you are exactly touching all relevant topics and because this content is so rare still. I am learning foil sports through the foil-assist path. Using dyi built on top of the board box. I am at the stage doing hop and glide. The board is 90L , box is 3kg , I don't expect to succeed pumping, this will be another lighter setup probably. In the meantime I can learn all the rest. Yes, i felt that loosing of stability as soon as I hop - the board goes sideways, i solved it by going With the board

  • @nessenessmann5514
    @nessenessmann5514 14 часов назад

    Foildrive will give you a massive push in the Learningcurve "How to link and surf Boatwaves",but will never help you to learn pumping ....so the time for the assist will come and they will be much smaller(pod and motor) and lighter(batteries).

    Good video! If you spoke Polish, I would have thought you read all my posts in a Polish Dock Start group and turned them into a manual 🤣🤣🤣. I would add one more thing. To the mobility section: stretch even more, especially your spine. Many people doing pumpfoiling are starting to have spine problems, especially in the lower lumbar vertebrae. Some of us have already stopped pumping or have had spine surgeries. It seems like spine issues are part of this sport. Many of us have aches, not realizing they originate from the spine and are caused by pumping on the foil. In my opinion, the greatest risk during the activity is the moment of jumping onto the board and straightening up. It has happened to me twice already. At first, I didn't know what was causing it either. That's why stretching is a must.

    These are all great points. At this point I'm working on the smooth pumping action -vs- jumping on the board. It's making a big difference. Once thing I'll add is I had an issue with my gong setup worth sharing. My foils, front and rear, didn't fit my fuse perfectly and would wobble a bit. I finally figured it out, and fixed it, and it's made a big difference as well. Just something to be aware of for anyone struggling.

    Could you maybe make a video showing how to dismount safely when coming back to the beach in shallow water? I mean without hurting your legs or damaging the foil on the seabed... Do you step on the side and try to catch the board ?

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele 9 дней назад

      Thank you for the idea! I usually gain speed, stay as high as possible on the mast, glide, and jump off in front of the board right before the foil hits the seabed. I land 'gently' in the water and let the foil stops on the sand bank. perhaps not the best option for our knees, but the foil doesn't get damaged since there's no weight on top when it hits the sand.

  • @LuisNobuu
    @LuisNobuu 12 дней назад

    the issue i am facing is that i always fall backwards on my back and my pumps aren hard enough. I feel like i need to bend my knees more and have my bodyweight more forward and maybe not stand too much on the heels of my feet. Its very hard learning but i think once you have it right it goes fast. but that first stage to get the right pump movement feels so hard

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele 12 дней назад

      Agree that the first stage is the hardest. yours it's a common issue. focus on hopping forward. imagine wanting to reach a branch 1 meter in front of your board. project yourself forward. especially with big foils, big stabs and long fuses

    Great Videos! Love your content. Please make video about the following if you can: 1. Getting high on the mast. I really continue to struggle to get high on the mast. I know we supposed to jump UP and compress legs to let foil rise. But can you describe in more detail that technique? Including the body posture? Does upper body needs to be angled a bit off balance (ie: lean forward a bit) or upper body needs to be as vertical as possible? Ie: is it a jump up , or more like hinge when upper body abd knees try to meet at the angle? 2. I continue to get my heart rate to about 155 bpm in about 40 seconds.. and because this heart rate is about 93% of my max heart rate, i have to stop. My body just cant go on.. So how do you keep the heart rate lower while pumping? And what is your cruising heart rate.. ? Can you pump for say for 2 mins with heart rate around 140 bpm?? Can anyone pump in 140 bpm rate? Thanks mate! Looking forward to your next video.

      @@DmitryAvramenko thank you very much for the ideas and questions! Will dive deeper into them. 1. Tips to stay high: generate more speed at the beginning, sloppy legs to let the board rise, light shoulders shrug to help go weightless 2. Overcome the barrier: try with pump and glide drill, more efficient high aspect foils, lighter smaller boards, relax, stay high on the mast constantly, check for involuntary muscle contraction (ie neck rigidity), just practice until you get precise, focus on the technique and longer sessions rather than few exhausting launches Hope this helps. Feel free to drop more questions or to reach out privately. Seeing your recordings would really help. See you soon!

    If you were wearing a wet suit, do you think this accident would have caused so many injuries? ?

      @@BatuhanYumrukaya not at all. With a wetsuit I’d probably didn’t need stitches
