    Well Said! Happy that you could compare the two setup back to back. Also you did not mention that you basically pumped the 1401 gear second trial! This is very impressive. It’s a bit more sensitive setup to make it more playful, it was a bit more stable with the 362/50, but now slimmed down. For extra carving now I pair with 250p stabilizer

    Hello,
    thanks for topic I expect since the 1401 has been released. I have the Sirus XXl since 6 months and tested once the 1401 from a dock, great to have your feedback especially with regards to deadstart différence.
    Any idea of the speed difference between both setups ?
    And of your pumping max time potential difference on each foil ?

      Happy you liked the review! According to my watch the Sirus XL has around 14 km/h average speed and according to what Pietro said, the 1401 around 16-17 km/h

    Awesome! I was waiting for this and got the 1401 in the meantime. There seems to be a great difference in difficulty of the start, and with 1401 it seems like you are almost pushed to the limit whereas with XL it is much more relaxed. Do you think you could start the 1401 from a rock submerged under water as you mentioned you could do with the XL? It would be nice to be able to go around the lake and start at random locations. Many thanks for the comparison, really filling a blind spot!

      Thank you! I wasn't super relaxed on the 1401 because it requires a lot of precision and focus if you're not used to it. However, once you gain the speed it requires very little effort to be pumped. You definitely can start the 1401 from a submerged rock, it's just going to require more time to be able to do so consistently as you need more precision and explosiveness.

      The Sirus is more relaxing in the way that it's more permissive, more forgiving, more stable and has a lower cadence.

      @gaeldaniele I wonder... would the old PNG1300 be a good "relaxed" or easier option than the 1401 for people already on an axis rig?

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  2 месяца назад +1

      @@DownwindFrother Absolutely. A lot of people I met in Switzerland make this transition: 1150 or 1310 -> 1300 -> 1401 or 1180

    I've seen complaints written about Gong on a couple of forums that when their gear breaks Gong advise that they sell it for such a low price that there is no warranty. Something for consideration, especially since some of these hollow core constructions are very hard to get back to original strength in event of a failure. For very light people, maybe not so much of an issue to be concerned about.

    we have the 1401 with the "short" advance+ (the longest one) with the pump 460 v2 (so the biggest pump stab). I say "we" because it's my son's new pump setup coming from the axis 1120BSC. I've got a gong curve=h 6xl on order for myself (I'm 6'4" 210lbs and also want it for super light wind foiling). It'll be curious to see where we end up. I'm betting next summer I add a sirus, probably the 3xl. I'm curious to see how well I can pump the 6xl but also my son (who's much lighter). Thanks for the comparison!

      Nice! Good luck for your pumping journey! I'd suggest you pair the axis with a skinny stab and a shorter fuse if you have a bit of experience, you'll really feel the difference, trust me! Cheers

      @@gaeldaniele Thank you! I kinda figured we'd start with the "easier" options then go for the shorter fuse and skinny stab as we progress.

    You max pump time between the two?

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  2 месяца назад

      Good question! I can pump the Sirus for 5 minutes. I only did 4-5 launches with the 1401 so I didn't attempt a record. However, I believe they're pretty similar if you have the right technique with both

    The art pro is rellly really similar to a gong fluid

    • @gaeldaniele

      I'd say that the art pro 1201 is kinda similar to the fluid H XXL, but I wouldn't really compare the Fluid H 3XL to the 1401. yes they are both pretty flat and thin, but the 3XL is way bigger in terms of surface.
