Great tips and POV. I would also suggest for murky water that you throughly check the bottom for sharp objects and maybe put an anchored small float at your take off depth. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress!
I really appreciate your comment about how explosive a beach start is. I find that I need to give 100% effort for the acceleration steps and the jump and then COMPLETELY switch mindset and concentrate on the delicate task of finding my balance on the board and initiating a calm pump technique. So different from flat water paddle ups where it is a prolonged effort and gradual transition from paddling to pumping. Whereas dock start and rock start are basically step off and go. So many varieties and different feelings!
Congratulation, this is the last foiling trick I didn't learn. I'm too afraid of hurting my gear. Since I practive sup foiling I don't dock start anymore, I like to be able to rest everywhere on the water and then start again an go further. But beach starting is so stylish, I have to learn that one day! It looks hard and intimidating though.
@gaeldaniele Yes with the sup it's like you can go for a walk on the water and yes, you don't have too worry to much about sea weeds and falling because you can always be back up. It is probably safer compared to beach starting. I don't see any significant risk during the pop up.

Very good tips! Thank you!

the SUP is definitely safer and allows you to go further without having to worry about falling or stalling, true?
Must learn it too!
