thanks Paul, always more fun to not talk just with the camera but with a mate, i also like to listen to you and ben always when i am on a long drive somewhere 👌
At 14:00 you are right;;Patrick explained during a tech clinic at Defi that indeed the angle of attack causes the dolphin up/down instability and that he believes in a more neutral foil characteristic.
I love how he is trying to find a way to justify the price 😄. It’s ridiculously expensive. I had a small front wing in UHM carbon sent to me with an invoice from cobra for 80 euros/not a Patrik foil, but still. the mark up on this foils are crazy.
yes, we have to justify it to feel good with buying it 😅 i guess if you have a slight edge over your competitors you always can charge a premium, was the same with fins, the two, three brands that are on top can charge 400+€ whereas the others charge more like 250-300€ for a carbon fin...
Comparing it to the F4, it could be worth mentioning that the latest 2024 F4 foil for racing is completely different from the one I guess you and Mario have had. I think also F4 has a decent price on their latest high end 95cm mast.
Yes, absolutely, as i said in the beginning of the video it's not a fair comparison as my Foil is 4 years old already and there's probably been big development steps for most companies in that time. It's just the only other Foil I know and am well used to so can only compare it to that one and not the new ones I have never tried...
@@WindsurfingNils Thanks for the reply. Nothing wrong with your speeds, so perhaps I should try it once. I just started foiling and there are a lot of variables, so your video’s and reply are highly appreciated!
i agree seen the price of a Patrik Formula Board i am pleased he is still making them and hell i wanna buy one.. but FFS it is so damn expensive.. i would have to sell 3 of my garbage boards.. that would pay off some of that Debt on Mr Credit
well no, they actually had to go on a kitefoil to reach any kind of high speeds, the wing foils are much slower in general and more aimed at easy riding and early liftoff in comparison to pure speed
@@WindsurfingNils That's because the drag on the board windsurfing makes holding on to the bigger sail area for any significant duration enough of a mission that anyone serious converts to harness lines. You can do the same on wing surfing if you really want max power and size up your wing to match wing to front foil ratio but part of the reason we switch to wing surfing is that you have max freedom not being locked in to a harness. Anyway, my comment was about the foil. There's a lot more tech in wing surfing foils because that's where all the R&D budget goes from the big companies. I design them for myself too and like all my other tech interests, I put a lot of personal R&D into my design efforts.
Yet another race/slalom windfoil vid. Does anyone have noticed that Vieste freestyle event is showing a much more fun way of foiling. Race/Slalom foil is definitly not fun, it's dead serious stuff. Come one, 3500€ to get 'decent gear'. Noway this is some usual rider game. Ok, I quit and go carve my local pond.
I like the colab with Mario and yourself good fun!
That is the idea of share waves. Wave sharing is caring 😉

@@WindsurfingNils they talk to entertain you 😉
With the Patrik foil you can get 90% of the performance at 60% of the price by choosing the Alu fuse, M wings etc.
Not a foiler but I just ordered a Loft sail from Wind Lounge and I live in California!

Well Patrick should at least give you a very generous discount as you deserve it, hope he will 🤙🏻😎🤞🏻

Why you don't use the back straps?
Enjoyed it !
What types of shims did you use to rake the mast? Thanks!
Patrik Foil - die heißeste Klinge 2024
You mentioned you want to get back into racing. What kind of races are you thinking about?
just some fun races here and there nothing to serious.
Do you always foil without back footstraps?
yes, kind of got used to it and gives me a lot of confidence but maybe i am missing out on some speed because of it...

NIce video as usual! I guess this is a lot better than my iqfoil , but i dont know if it´s easier to ride.
i never tried the iq, generally bigger wings are easier to ride of course...
Seems like wind foiling's latest is way behind wing foiling's latest. Foil looks like really old tech.
