    I am going through a full symptoms day after going out yesterday when it was hot outside.     Does a daily cold shower help?

      @zeusthegreek4664 Once you understand the knowledge and apply it to yourself, different tools can help regulate the nervous system. For some people, cold showers do that. For me, cool showers give me a boost of energy in the mornings. But my system doesn't like frigid ice baths! You have to experiment and see what works for you, but I wouldn't say that cold showers are a panacea.

    Has anyone experienced tingling in extremities as a mind body symptom? I have had many tests to rule out any structural issues and nothing comes back thankfully. This symptom is so hard for me because I feel it so often and at night as well when trying to settle. It’s such a hard cycle to break not to focus on it… any advice?

    Hello Rebecca, Your videos are always so comforting .. your warmth and compassion shine through. I have a question for you. Would debilitating fatigue be considered a 'symptom' or a condition. I am barely able to get out of bed due to the level of fatigue I've been experiencing lately. I'm eleven years into CFS and I've never felt fatigue this intense before. Trying hard not to let fear take over ... but finding it difficult. So when people discuss the best way to handle symptoms, I can't help but wonder if scary fatigue might be categorized under the label 'symptoms'.

      @idragonfly Your kindness also shines through, even in such difficult times! Thanks for writing and I'm so sorry for your suffering. I can completely relate to what how scary it is to be bed bound or homebound. With mind-body healing, fatigue (even significant fatigue) is absolutely considered a symptom. As long as doctors have ruled out a pathological disease, than people have great success improving their energy through mind-body healing. You can too! I think you might really love my Be Your Own Medicine course and do really well in it! In the program, we decipher the difference between fatigue (sensation), scary (emotion) and thoughts ("this is difficult"), as well as the behaviors that stem from them.     Tremors are typical mind body symptoms. LC falls into this category. I have LC with 30 symptoms or so. Brain retraining and TMS seem to be the only things that help. Follow this path. It will take a lot of time. Do not give up. Ask yourself... What if I recover...? Good luck .

      @zeusthegreek4664 Hi there, I saw many specialists who tested me for just about everything. It's a good idea to rule out anything pathological like that.       @zeusthegreek4664 Yes I did - I was very fearful of those symptoms and worried I had Parkinsons or M.S. Apparently nerve issues/ symptoms are common after the latest strains of covid & I wish I'd known that 6 months ago. Once I got the diagnosis it was a LC symptom, I immediately relaxed and believed my doctor that they would resolve sooner or later and they are pretty much gone now.

    Thank you so much, I needed to hear this! I'm very near the finish line of my recovery but I do have a lot of stress this summer, because of a big project that I have to finish and deliver in a month. It is giving me a few symptoms like acid reflux, digestion issues and difficulty to sleep, which I know are all TMS and caused by this project. Yet I know I have to do it, to bring food on the table and I'll be so happy when it'll be done, and proud of it. This is really where self-compassion is important, to not be too hard on me.

    How about fatigue from hormonal changes, for example uf you are in perimenapause?

      @margaretmicherda6136 Hormonal changes from perimenopause, or menopause, can certainly cause symptoms. But we find that mind-body healing makes the transitions gentler because it brings more nervous system regulation!

    Rebecca, do you think you can heal from anxiety if it’s been a part of your life for 25 years? I was 19 when I had my first panic attack and since then it’s taken over my life and since having cfs the last 10 years, anxiety has taken an even bigger hold. I fear I’m a lost cause if my anxiety is so entrenched in my pathways it will prevent me healing.

      @Juliee79 Yes, I absolutely think people can heal from anxiety no matter how long it's been around! Our brain is neuroplastic for our entire lives. I've seen people recover from anxiety and other mind-body symptoms after three, four or five decades! Anxiety will try to convince you otherwise, but you can learn a new way.     Love your work Rebecca (and thank you so much for providing so many free resources). I had moderate/severe M.E for 10 years. I was constantly worried about my finances (I live alone) and in UK struggled to even get basic sickness benefits (due to lack of 'evidence'). In the end, I had to make the devastating decision to sell my home as I couldn't afford the mortgage any longer. After 10 years I managed to get my M.E. to mild and was able to return to work on a part-time basis. I managed to work for a few years (with very limited social activity) but as the pressure at work increased, I struggled more and more to keep up. I then contracted Covid and the whole cycle started again. Really sick again and had to stop working once more. In all the CFS recovery stories I listen to coaches remind us to tell ourselves 'we are safe' and to challenge the thoughts that we are unsafe. I have extreme financial insecurity because of this condition so struggle to see how on earth am I 'safe'? I also noticed many of those who have recovered from CFS have retrained as wellness coaches (which I applaud!) but it makes me wonder if it's ever possible for people to recover and go back to 'normal' jobs. My previous role was in teaching adults (online, working from home) but it seems even this was too stressful for me to cope with (large class sizes, tight grading deadlines, lots of student support issues). I feel capable and confident enough now to know how to get back to baseline but it seems every time I get back to work, I get the same outcome. I have thought about retraining in a different career but just don't feel I have the energy (i am mid 50s). Can you please offer some suggestions?

    Now three days after watching this episode with you and Angela. Her wake up reminded me of the most beautiful perioid of my life 25 years ago - as i had a similar breakthrough that lead me to amazing realisations and spiritual connection ind life and art. It led me to an artistical careeer, but the same career and added trauma later in life drew me back into anxiety. Now, recovering from Long Covid and deblilitating illness I really enjoyed finding you, Rebecca, and suck the compassionate approach of yours, in.. This was the first video of yours that I checked out. :) Now, Im sitting at my desk, with my laptop. And guess what happened just a minute ago. This qote - that i myself have written (referring to my own experiences) on a sticky note, somehow suddenly totallyl unexpected popped up on my screen - I must have touched the Sticky not icon unconssiously... ? So I see his quite on my screen saying: "True wisdom is always dearly bought. The truth is known by its eternal light and grace. Recogninzing your truth is when love breaks through and you recognize the light in yourself and the entire universe. Learning to live is learning to dance in the world with that light!" - Helle Thun So, I thought I just wanted to share his with you all. Thank you Angela for sharing the process of how the walls of protection that tried to guard you up until now - just fell ! It fell through your self compassionate recovery process. This is a spiritual awakening. So beautifull that you share. This i possible for all of us. We just need to keep up shattering these rigid walls of fear.. Thank you, thank you, thank you...

      @@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach that was so inspiring. I had a spiritual awakening years ago, that started like that. It lasted some years and I practised yoga and meditation a lot. It made me change career and become a singer and performer. But that ended up with stress and long Covid. So still things to solve here. But I'm moving forward in recovering. I want this spiritual connection back. Its time now. I just need to release myself out of these trauma and loss, and protective mechanisms. Thank you for inspiration 🙏♥️Gives me hope for myself and inspiration to do more inner selfcare adn continue even further, even as Im getting past the worst part of all these extreme pains and panic's of this disease.

    Hi Rebecca. I have exactly the same symptoms that you had and I know you practiced yoga? I’m getting into a yoga practice and finding it a challenge because of crashing and fatigue/ pain afterwards. I’m just wondering how you tackled your yoga practice.? Did you do restorative? Yin?. I have been doing chair yoga which is helping me slightly. Any tips or if you could perhaps do a video on how you managed to get into yoga. Thank you so much xx

      @sarahc6154 Hi Sarah! Yes, yoga was and still is a big part of my life. I love it so much! During my symptomatic years, I did mostly restorative or yin yoga. In my recovery, I started doing slow flows to challenge myself. But I used the mind-body framework of not fearing the symptoms. I expanded my activities, including yoga, with mindful attention and somatic awareness. In fact, I offer various yoga and movement practices in my Be Your Own Medicine course because it can be a very helpful part of recovery. I hope this helps and wish you Namaste!

    I can appreciate that therapies like Pacing one's energy and emotional output can be helpful. Positivity and honesty in communication all sound good. However, for some people it needs to be acknowledged that the physiological issues are often equally important, otherwise diet, paced exercise, supplements would not help, and they do for many people. The doctor mentioned the micro blood-clots, mitochondrial issues etc. All the bio labs experimenting with these pathogens need to be frequently audited with full transparency! Let's acknowledge those facts too!

      @jackjones3657 Thanks for your comment! I agree that different people need different modalities in order to recover. Paced exercise/graded exposure is a very important piece of this mind-body model. Although I think it's healthy long-term to eat an organic, whole foods diet, there's no evidence I've seen that diet is a cause of Long Covid. On a personal note, I took hundreds of supplements at great expense over 13 years and they didn't help me recover from ME/CFS. But if they help you or someone else, that's terrific! We all find and share the way that works for us.

    This is great! Thank you so much for your videos, it gives me so much hope. I wonder, any insights why every time I start being more constant with brain retraining and somatic practices or meditations, my symtoms get way worse and I develop insomnia and anxiety, it always happens the first week I start using the tools, which makes me to stop for a while and then going in circles again 😢

Often, people are pursuing these practices with an agenda of fixing the symptoms, which can ironically flare them up. An intense attitude can also rev up the nervous system. We also want to learn to respond mindfully to the symptoms.
