  • Rebecca Tolin talks about her dramatic fall and recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, CFS/ME through the mind-body work brought by Dr. John Sarno and Dr. Howard Schubiner (called Tension Myositis Syndrome or Mind-Body Syndrome). After 13 years of chasing diets, supplements and doctors, Rebecca found healing by learning the root cause of her symptoms, calming her nervous system, retraining her brain and learning to feel repressed emotions.

    I was honestly suicidal after having covid and then developing this fatigue, after finding youre videos I’ve found hope again! I 100 percent believe this is what is happening to me, the mind is extremely powerful, you can fix it with youre mind too

      Ezza, I'm so sorry that you dropped so low but am thrilled to hear you are feeling hopeful again!!! Absolutely, these ongoing symptoms are mind-body and you can recover from them. It's a matter of turning off the danger signal in the brain that is reacting like there's still an acute situation, even through it has passed. Our minds are so powerful. Keep going with this mind-body healing!! Your can feel well again and learn a lot about yourself in the process.

      @@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach watching youre videos is the main relieve I get,
      When I get the thoughts or the urges to check and research long covid, I automatically watch you’re videos, somedays im okay but somedays im constantly checking my heart rate lol, yesterday I struggled to exercise, I finished the work out but I was burning and elevated heart rate for hours after! I know this was because I had a bad day and I have to keep positive! I’ve had days where I’ve exercised and been okay and somedays were it hasn’t

      I feel also very similar to youre story*
      I’m not sure if you also had the whole extreme exhaustion with simple tasks like walking or going up stairs, it’s unbelievable how the mind can create that type of fatigue

      @@ezza1236 I’m so glad my videos are helping you! The doom and gloom stuff can scare the brain further, so I shied away from that in my recovery. The fact that your symptoms come and go, is evidence that they are generated by the brain since structural issues don’t act that way. You’re doing fantastic! Keep going with this work. You can truly recover!

      @@ezza1236 oh yes, sometimes I could hardly walk from one room to the next room. The mind can create extreme exhaustion when it feels threatened. You want to keep finding ways to make yourself feel safer. I know it’s hard but it’s very fulfilling to heal through this self empowering approach. I can tell you’re getting it so keep going!

    I’ve been pushing myself to drive farther from home and be out in the world. I pushed myself a bit too far today and my IC came back. This is the symptom that I dislike the most.

      @adriane3978
      We all have one of those and IC was one of my most challenging symptoms too. I get it! And yet, it's normal that the body and brain will push back when we're re-engaging. It's a process. We need lots of patience, persistence and self-compassion along the way. Also, you might consider seeing what it's like to "challenge" yourself rather than to "push" yourself. That reframe made a big difference for me and I hope it helps you too!

    Hi Rebecca, please may I ask, did you have any candida infections during that time, and did it clear out on it's own or did u need medications or supplements for it? Also, did you have any bad reactions to supplements, medications, and foods? I'm curious if we have to stop the foods that seem to flare our symptoms up or change our mind about them. Thank you!

    • @rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach

      Great questions and I address them in my recent blog! I'll also be releasing a companion video here soon. In short, I was diagnosed with candida overgrowth. The strictest diet and supplements didn't make me feel better and actually made me feel worse! I also had many food sensitivities. I recovered through this mind-body approach! It's helpful to learn the knowledge and practices first before adding in foods and activities which flare symptoms. Know that it's possible to overcome these kinds of symptoms and sensitivities because they're caused by the brain!

      I'm so sorry to hear that. A lot of times, symptoms are worse during a certain time of year due to a conditioned response in the brain. But this mind-body healing can help!

    How did you heal your Insomnia??

    • @rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach
      @rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach  Год назад +1

      Insomnia was my most vexing symptom! I used this mind-body approach, as well as the book Say Goodnight to Insomnia by Gregg Jacobs. You want to change your mindset about sleep, let go of fear or fixation on insomnia, and settle your system throughout the evening as you can. You can restore your sleep!
