  • Learn how a world champion bodybuilder recovered from post viral syndrome. Chrissy Zmijewski shares her protocol to heal from chronic fatigue, body aches, brain fog, insomnia, breathlessness, headaches and a racing heart. She also overcame an intolerance to foods and sounds through mind-body healing.
Chrissy rediscovered the work of Dr. John Sarno and realized her symptoms were caused by the mind-body connection, which he called Tension Myositis Syndrome or TMS. Chrissy used journaling, somatic tracking and neurology exercises to process emotions and retrain her brain back into wellbeing.

What an inspiring interview! I"m diving deep into these techniques and using DNRS (visualization/brain retraining). After 23 years I've exhausted protocols, bodywork, etc etc. I have no autoimmune diagnosis but I do have optic nerve damage which was the beginning of disabling neurological events triggered by stress, pharma, surgery, vaccine. Now I'm dealing with dry mouth and GERD on top of it. My issues began as very TMS -with chemical sensitiviites, chronic pain/fibro etc but evolved into autoimmune like symptoms. Doubt creeps in because of the autoimmune like neuro symptoms and damage. I'm wondering how successful TMS work is for someone like me and for autoimmune disease. I believe Dr. Sarno said in one of his books that autoimmune was a more extreme form of TMS? I have a high ACE score from childhood, was high achieving/high stress path (high school salutatorian), engineering, sales fortune 500 company---with major trust issues of medical, financial/fear based -so I fit the pattern. Using my mind/brain to heal gives me hope.

Please follow what gives you hope! Don't let fear take you over! You said you have no autoimmune diagnosis so trust that. The TMS symptoms can be similar to autoimmune symptoms. At one point, I had several autoimmune diagnosis but those resolved. Like Chrissy says, once you find what gives you hope, do the work and let the things that scare you go. You can do this Selma! P.S. - In addition to brain retraining, I find the emotional work described here is very important too.

@@tanyawieczorek6603 I'm doing OK but the toxic politics and what is going on Gaza has triggered my negative thinking/anxiety and also dealt with my mother dying and caring for this past year. Health wise I am not in neuro attack and able to hike/live life again. DNRS helped me recover from 2021/2022 severe neuro attack. I just had COVID for first time. I only had 1 vaccine since it triggered neuro attack for me. 7 weeks later I still have throat clearing/stuff in throat since COVID. So I don't know if this limbic or what. I also suffer from hypertension and can't tolerate the meds. Just diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 61 ( get your bones checked at 50 and at start of menopause!). I walked daily for 30 years/hilly 2 M walk and yoga past 13 years and that was not enough. I do think the brain retraining is key and I need to get back at it with recent triggering events/my thoughts have been very negative lately.

    • @rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach

Hi Tanya, Yes that was true for me too with years of CFS. I had low cortisol in the morning and high cortisol in the evening, as well as many other hormone abnormalities. But that's an effect of a hyper-vigilant brain and nervous system, not the cause. With mind-body healing, we work with the root! We cultivate a felt sense of safety through knowledge, practices and behaviors. We work with thoughts, emotions and the nervous system. This turns down the brain's danger alarm signal and thus the symptoms. You can chase hormones and such but it's often a never ending game of whac-o-mole in my experience... or you can work with the root cause!
