Hi Andy meant to ask will you be going to the Five Towns koi event this Saturday? Gwen 🧓
To me, mho is if your going to keep Koi and know they are going to be happy then something a little more natural is key. Seeing these Koi pools (not ponds) is like looking at a sterile stretch of water with nil interest. Th my mind you need plant life and the pond life that goes with it.

In Japan, we are in the middle of the growing season except for KOI, which is a consumable for comfort, so it's hard to have a conversation if customs don't change over there.
And so happy for you for you winning that fish mate ,and I hope you and your wife had a fabulous cruise around the Mediterranean because I love a cruise me I've practically done them all from the Mediterranean the Caribbean and Scandinavia and plus lots of others to and next year will be my fifteenth one, basically I'm like a fish out of water 😅👍

Unfortunately my drum takes this out in 24 to 36 hours. So i am trying columbo blanket weed treatment. I attack it when it is just over an inch long as this cuts down clogging up of the drum.😂
What can I do with my koi that is egg bound help
Hiya, if your 100% sure it's egg bound there is a way to massage the eggs out if the fish, (I couldn't advise this method as never done it), but the fish should absorb the eggs if it doesn't sporn for whatever reason.. If your fish is looking bloated it could be for number of reasons... I've not intervened with any of my fish that look bloated in the past and let nature take its course. Good luck with your fish and hope it recovers from whatever it has..🤞👍

At 1:20 into your video, you have a koi in the bottom right corner of your window. Can you tell me what kind of koi that is? I have one that looks very similar to yours and I have been trying to determine what kind he is. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hiya, I had that fish from my dealer for next to nothing as its a failed Shiro, meaning its black patched just disappeared over night so the fish wasn't worth anything anymore as he couldn't sell it, so I took it on. 😉👍
@@KoiPondLifestyle I bought mine, and named him Shadow, because he was black backed with scales there, but a silvery/bluish along his sides. Paid $8.00 at Petsmart two summers ago as a baby 3.5 inches long. Last summer, he turned into this beautiful pale blue along his sides, dark blue scales on his back and a fiery red belly. Then, this year he spawned with my white female and has now lost virtually all of his color afterward. The babies were co-spawned with a golden version of him, black scales along his back. Both males are basically scaleless anywhere except their backs. The babies are beautiful, now almost 5 inches long being born in May this year.

Have you requested a free water report from your water supplier.that will give you a complete rundown of what parameters you have in your area. It would be interesting to see if they match your readings. Just go on their website and put in your postcode.

can algea particles make koio flash as mine been flashing for nearly a month now and pond water paramaters good , treated and checked for parasites also used virkon and other bacteria stuff and nothing? if anyone knows thanks.
Hiya, have you checked the Chlorine levels as that can also course distress to the fish and flash.. They've been very high where I live and I've have to use a declorinator to reduce the levels..🤔😉👍

Why don’t you use hydrogen peroxide 12% ? It’s a quarter of the price of that crap and will definitely work👍

We are the couple around the corner from you! Yes the chlorine is a nightmare. I’ve bought some of this stuff you recommended and used. The fish have stopped the flashing they were doing. But we also had flukes not long ago too… not sure it’s fully gone though. May need to treat again. Got a new issue now with white blisters on the tail of one of our koi… another day - another problem!!
Hiya, thanks for that feedback. I've decided to go back to Lernex Pro if the last Kusuri fluke treatment product doesn't work. I've lost all faith in Kusuri after spending a small fortune on Kusuri treatments..☹ Glad the chlorine stuff has helped.. 😉👍
How often through out the week are you applying the clay?
Hiya, I mainly apply it once a month or after a water change or as a tonic to pick up the fish after a Treatment for parasites to improve the water quality. It takes too long to clear to use it more oftern..😉👍
@@KoiPondLifestyle Appreciate the response. Started using it myself and noticed how quickly clearer my water became after a few hours. Fish were very active and hungry when i feed them. Colors improved as well.
