Got my house fully rigged with tapo kit, network switches, access points, smart plugs, full cctv camera absolutely epic been running for a few year now and nothing has ever missed a beat superb stuff ps I'm a professional network consultant by trade so work with lots of high end stuff cisco, juniper etc and this stuff gets my vote.

All my cameras and smart tech is Tapo. Never been disappointed over the couple years I’ve had them. My outdoor cameras have been in hot summer sunshine, freezing temperatures, and driving rain. Never failed. 😊

Hi Andy. Thanks for another great video. I have wired cctv around my house and have recently added an old spare Blink camera to view the koi in the pond as it's now completely closed in with polycarb. I like the look of the Tapo it does a lot more than the Blink.
As a dog lover (groomer for a living) and having worked with and trained dogs for years, a massive thumbs up for Bear, he's great. Keep the videos coming. I love them. Ruth - Mrs Orca 🐳

The cameras I'm using are the Blink system, they work really well and the picture quality is OK. After watching your video Andy on the Tapo camera, I decided to have a look as I wanted one for my grow on pond. We'll I purchased one of Amazon, to say I'm impressed is an understatement, for the price, this camera is excellent. As the WiFi signal is rubbish, where my grow on pond is located, I've got it wired via ethernet connection.

    Nice Vid Andy
i bout 3 eufy 1080p pro about 4 years ago, wouldnt change them, but now i got the Homebase 3, added a 1TB disc in and it came with 2 x 3c 4k cameras, what a different beast, even upgrades the 1080p, i trust no one where my ponds concerned, so front house covered, side covered and inside the garage, cost is masive i agree but worth it, and i could see everything from thailand, aus and the usa, but you already know that 🤣

We also have a tapo great little system !! Only problem is so sensitive spiders keep triggering and we constantly have notification through the night lol just got to make sure we keep clearing the cobwebs.

Hiya, I set mine to Person detection only which reduced the amount of notifications, but will it pick up things like a Heron?🤔🤔

Great little camera. I have two cameras in my back garden by Tapo. The same as your one. I went out to Spain and they work great.Great for talking to the dogs when away. I having 5 dogs it does wind them up at first hearing your voice for the first time. The Alarm is great too. Great video again.

I fitted the ring cameras, one over the pond specifically for Heron alert. First night about 6am I get the alert. I shot down within two or three minutes and it flew off. I looked back on the recording and had taken one of the koi, not nice to watch.😢😢😢. Nets back on……. The biggest problem I have with the cameras are spiders and there poxy webs activating the notifications in the wind. 😵‍💫. I believe it’s illegal to view other people’s property, that was before the Ring Door bell case.

I have two...360 eyes and a Tapo. The 360 is wired and the Tapo is battery operated. Got an app for both. Both cameras have LED lights that come on when 'something' crosses the lens..moths, birds, foxes, cats, hopefully no people other than me. I was able to keep an eye on the pond while away in Lanzarote. Both cameras have the sd card inside but the 360 is about 10' off the ground..no one is nicking that. THe night time colour settings are very good. One thing I did do was turn the alarm off. When it rains the 360 can go on and off every couple of minutes. You do NOT want the alarm going off constantly between midnight and 7am...lol. That's a well trained BEAR btw.

I have eufy too. I've been awakened at 4am by "Human detected! In: Back Garden" and pooping myself I looked at my phone. To see a cat looking bleakly at the eufy camera. It wasn't great to see that their footage was available unencrypted and available to anyone on the internet, but hopefully that's now fixed. I might just go for a roll-my-own one next time.

    • @KoiPondLifestyle

Thanks for that. I have my eufy attached to my Google Home screen next to my bed as I use it for an alarm clock, but I can ask it to show me any camera if any goes off. No cats as yet as they don't seem to like the Bear so mostly stay away...😉👍

Really good video Andy. A huge price difference between the two. It's just a case of weighing up how much of a deal the memory storage is to you and the level of crime risk you have., If you are in a low risk area, I would say the Tapo camera has to be the one due to price. Bear is such a lovely boy.Our chocolate lab we had ( Dave ) ,was as mad as a box of frogs. A lovely natured boy but crazily excitable.Bear is gorgeous and you have trained him well.

Have you set it to 2K ? Im going to wire mine into the pond electrics useing door bell cable which is 9v. Makes no differance if someone trys to take the camera as it will automatically send everything on the card to your phone if it detects tampering.
