What an extremely durable keyboard……!
I was hoping to see the demonstration of phasing and double playback without the use of a computer. 😢
there's one for sale near me so had to do a quick search to see how it works and what it sounds like.
This for sale in reverb?
Different one. That looks quite rough. It’s an enormous repair job to overhaul. I am midway through doing mine now. Its only taken 3 weeks so far
Such a beautiful voice and performance. wow
Thank you!
🆒🆒
It was invented by Johannes Stroh, not "John".
Phono-fiddle was a knockoff made after the stroviols.
I am Watching You !
The album is pretty great
Thank you! 😊
Hi Steve Your videos are great ! This farfisa is fully electronic , without Tone wheels? All the Farfisa are without tone wheels? Thanx!
Thank you! Yes the Farfisa is a non-tone wheel organ
@VintageKeysStudio thanx 🤙
Keith Emerson had one in the early 70s , Nutrocker live , pictures live , take a pebble , etc . Then replaced by the model from 72, 73. In 77 78, he changed in Nutrocker by the Yamaha CP 70. And then the MIDI, of course. Cheers from Buenos Aires Argentina 🤙
Thank you - yes we tried to contact Keith about the L model many years ago, but sadly never got in touch
@@VintageKeysStudio ooooh...., many from the Keith gear are in the Emmeap , or something like that. Is like a keyboard museum . BTW i Saw ELP 6 times in Buenos Aires, Argentina with close encounter with the whole Band plus Stewart Young and Will Alexander. Manager and keyboard tech. Keith was very shy , Greg humble and awesome!!, and Carl very histrionic. Also Keith Weschler, the guitar and keyboard tech . Was a DREAM for me !! Cheers from Buenos Aires Argentina 🤙 Your videos are so funny 🍻😄🍻
nice track "the man who spoke his mind" wheres the full version
Thank you - there’s a full version in our Patreon members area
Be careful, the capacitors probably have PCB oil filling...
Thanks yes they do! - they have now all been disconnected and redirected through modern ones under the chassis :)
9:22 is this a song or something Dr. McDead improvised up? Really lovely sound
Thank you - just a little improvisation I (as Dr McDead) did.
My grandpa custom installed an ahooga horn in almost all his cars. There’s just be a doorbell in the dash
That’s wonderful! I think they should be installed everywhere - in every room and in every vehicle.
I love your videos so much, and I especially love the ones about analog synths
Glad you like them!
Ri-ha organ, starting in 1965, build by J. Versteegt in Harderwijk, the Netherlands. 'holland' is just a part of the Netherlands.
i was gifted one of these by LaRoux , i think her sister had one too (bit broken tho) i fixed it up and let it go . . . . . damn .
I have to geek out for a minute how clever a design that is purely from a manufacturing standpoint when electronic organs of the era were horribly complex things, yet this one's about as simple it gets. I can't believe I've never seen or even heard of these organs. I think the decision to put the voices on disc as opposed to regular photo film in loops but hey, whatever! Im sure they had their reasons, and that's part of its charm
I just purchased my first a hammond m100 today. My first ORGAN today. Very happy. Thanks for the excellent videos. Greetings from Cape Town 😊
Great to hear!
sounds like the Flash Gordon soundtrack
Awesome video have a great day also today is my friends birthday ❤😊
Happy birthday to your friend!
What a beautiful instrument.
Marvellous Video 😊😊😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Love this machine!
Me too!
Ol' Mike Ratledge used to use a Lowrey Holiday Deluxe TLO with, and I’m almost certain, an additional distortion like a synth for his solos in Soft Machine. Really versatile machinery this, the more typical combined organ tones are also fine
wayyy 😎
Such fun to watch~ Lovely playing as always!! So entertaining!
Thank you!
Such a cool instrument. Like you said very mellotron like
Pretty cool weirdo...i mean the farfissa by the way ❤
Sounds awesome. As always thanks for your interesting and entertaining videos!
⚡
Wow! Thank you so much for this. 23 minutes felt like 5. Keep spreading the knowledge!!!🥰
😸
To hear the Pianet at its finest listen to Mike Ratledge’s artistry on early Soft Machine stuff
It's a Lowery on steroids!
ADT 4:00
😢
We have one of these in our school left to dust 😢
Thanks a lot! because of you my speaker fell apprt on the floor due to vibrations ! okay it's a cheap commercial thing with the fake tweeters but still... lol. i hope you're proud of yourseld Charles Dickens...
Glad I could help!
This is a Neumann?
I get a little scared by those glissatos
Nice one, I imagine the natural reverb is particularly satisfying. I liked your thoughts on improv. Mine are that I ramble in the 50’s style of things, I suspect this is because as a kid I discovered a massive stash of my uncle’s records, mostly 78’s and 45’s from the late 50’s. They have lodged so solidly in the few brain cells that I have left that if you plonk me at a keyboard that is what flows, or more accurately clatters from the keys. Or as my missus describes the noise, “a load of crap” well I enjoy it! Does anyone else improvise locked to a particular style or eara? Btw does the cow get royalties?
Haha thank you - I like hearing a ‘load of crap’ and sometimes like to play it
Love your channel and your vibe. I'm restoring a 1972 Electone D-3R at the moment, it's white, discrete components, built-in rotary speaker, after-touch, the full works. You have to really really love these things to restore them, they're absolute blackholes of time, money and parts. BUT, I've never said no to rows of hand drawn PCBs and dizzying looms of wires. And my all time favourite, no schematics. Just my iron, my dmm and my techtronix, old school. It's always a pleasure restoring vintage Japanese gear.
Thank you! That sounds like a lovely project! I wonder how it would compare with a C55?
Try doing a frequency sweep? Many of these are pretty low. This one sounds low. Perfect for what it was designed for. But still useful and fun today. But not worth thousands like you said. I plan on doing a federal 864 this winter. Dont believe specs on audio transformers , sometimes they are better than what they say
Good idea!
I quite like Sietze de Vries approach to improvising early music. Have you seen his keyboard collection? He bought a church. I think it'd go to my head owning all that lot. I'd take to wearing a cloak.
