I remember this sound very well but didn’t know it’s origin. I think the Tornados and Beatles incorporated this instrument in a few of their recordings. I’m wondering if there is sample of a clavioline or something close to it available. I could use this retro sound on a few gigs. Thank you for sharing your passion for research and presentation. 🎧🎹
Even if this guy says his keyboard 🎹 is a Musitron he still doesn’t know how Max Crook changed the circuitry in that type of keyboard. Max Crook guarded that secret well because others wanted to know how he changed the circuitry in that keyboard. Max Crook’s keyboard still sounds a bit different than this keyboard. But that’s the keyboard used in Runaway and Hats Off To Larry , but they don’t know Max Crook’s secret regarding his keyboard 🎹.
Wow! Beautiful solo! I guess it was the original clavioline, but the keyboard look so strange, particularly the black keys are so small that it must be a struggle playing the half steps. 👏So cheers, twice!
I think the weird instruments and new tech really helped make some early rock songs greater. How about we take that riff and play it on this... thing. Its got a keyboard lets try it. Ha.
Very nice although I should have turned the volume down on my ear buds before watching, my ears are still ringing from the shrill tone. I followed up by watching your previous vid on the Clavioline and just before you launched into the self duet on the piano and the Clavioline I thought that you were about to play the theme tune to ‘Potters Picture Palace’, children’s TV prog, now it would be good to hear that played on one of your theatre ‘sound-a-like’ organs. Hint hint. Otherwise another cracking video, Vintage Keys Studio is one of the best things on RUclips. I know perhaps I should get out more!
“Runaway” is such a classic, beautifully recreated by Steve
As demonstrated by Mr. Toulouse-Lautrec here
