Americans Try Lays Chips from India and China
Ginger nut biscuits as a base for a lemon and ginger no cook cheesecake. Delicious.
I've done in the past a really great Raspberry & White Chocolate baked cheesecake, recipe taken from a YT video.
The standard and quality in Europe as a whole is excellent. However, my wife is Italian and go into any patisserie, usually a mum-and-pop establishment there and the items for sale are amazing.
Little De bie Swiss Rolls are banned in Europe
Hi Tina and Ross hope you’re both well M&S are the best I’m a poet and didn’t know it 🤣🤣 I’ve tried the cappuccino bar you are in for a treat and I hate coffee hope you have a lovely weekend
Whoever keeps giving me a like thank you 🙏
Ross do not insult your mouth with that Manchester United mug , there is only one team in Manchester and that's the mighty blue's , MANCHESTER CITY
I agree John. There is only one team, and it is Manchester City. The other team will never be said in my house. True blue forever!
A lovely selection here, Neil. The M&S mini rolls are so delicious. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with anything from M&S either! Look forward to your next tasting session. Enjoy the weekend. 😊
The only thing I've not liked of M&S were their giant chocolate buttons, were not nice at all. Unless I just was unlucky and got a bad bag.
I made a special point not to get the Coconut bar.😁. The rolls cost approx $3.15 for a comparison to the Little Debbie’s.
I use mayo
If you have them again, id leave the spoon in cos they tend to settle as they sit. Costa millionaires mocha are the best instant mocha. I didnt really like any of these when i tried them, but id take them over cheap tea or coffee.
Hi Siobhan, thanks for the tip. Is that mocha like millionaire's shortbread? Hope you're having a good week.
Hello I have a box of the mint areo. Nice winter warmer. Enjoy the rest of your day
Hi Graham. Mint mochas are tasty. Hope you're having a good week.
Instead of water or milk you can make them with a cup of coffee or at a push throw in a spoon of instant coffee when you're making them. Gives you a bigger selection and more coffee taste if you like yours stronger (as I do).
Hi Margaret, that's a great idea. Extra coffee flavor sounds good!
I admit I’ve never had it, but I’ve heard that “Camp Coffee” is supposed to be nice. It’s a syrup containing coffee extract and chicory extract and is fairly sweet. About 3 teaspoons in a hot cup of milk. Supposed to be good in baking as well (like a coffee or chocolate cake I guess). It’s an old product dating back to the 1870’s.
Hi Temeraire, Happy Tuesday! Thank you for letting us know, we haven't heard of Camp Coffee syrup but it sounds interesting. If we come across it, we'll give it a try. Hope you have a great week :)
Nice to see a Red Devil Mug, of course it will be a Manchester United Mug, the Red Devils of Manchester, I've had a bit of a chesty cough this past week after having another angiogram at Wythenshawe hospital Manchester, hopefully going to the Christmas markets in Manchester this week and trying a few drinks, some nice drinks from Richard again, enjoy.
Hi Michael! Sorry to hear about the chest cough, hope you feel better soon. Please let us know if you go to the markets and which drinks you decided on. Happy Tuesday! :)
Hi Tina Ross and Finn hope you're all well. Very cold here in East Yorkshire today but no snow yet. Liked the Man Utd mug 👍. Take care.
Hi Steven, Happy Tuesday! Glad you like the Manchester United/Red Devil mug :) We're doing well here, hope you're doing well also. It's getting colder here, we're expecting rain for the next 4 days straight. Happy Tuesday! :)
i prefer steamed milk with these.
Hi CheekyMonkey, Happy Tuesday! We'll give it a try with milk, maybe even try it in the velvetizer :) Hope you have a great week :)
Whenever I make the coffee sachays ,I blend the pouder with some milk then mix well with hot water . I like the sound of sticky toffee pudding . Thank you for sharing your time . Take care and all the best .😊😊👍👍👍🐶
Hi Kudapooda! We'll give that idea a try, thank you! The sticky toffee pudding was good, we'll try it with milk next time. If you try it, please let us know what you think. Happy Tuesday! :)
We have snow here today in Birmingham! A hot drink is perfect right about now. The Aero ones sound tempting. I tried Baileys biscuits recently; Baileys works with so many other products.
Hi Barry! Can't say we're having snow right now but it is getting colder here and we're set to have rain multiple days in a row, good time for hot drinks too :) If you try the Aero ones, please let us know what you think. We've tried some Baileys chocolates, rich but very good. :) Happy Tuesday!
@@FinnLovesFood Have a good week! Yes, Baileys definitely adds a richness to everything!
Nescafe is by far the most popular brand and has the most instant coffee products in the UK, Kenco at a guess is the next biggest.
We see Nescafe here, but it's usually instant coffee or iced tea. I don't recall seeing mochas or lattes. For instant drinks I used to like to get Maxwell House International Coffees.
It's definitely hot chocolate and special coffee time here in the UK too. We had a sprinkling of snow last night and it's been icy cold today. I haven't tried any of those instant hot drinks, but I do like the Malteser one. I will also have to be quick and take advantage of the Velvetiser before my daughter takes it to her new flat. Well it is hers!! Enjoy the cooler weather and all those hot beverages. 😊
Barely had even a sprinkling here in Uxbridge. Pretty cold but still able to sit outside Cafe Nero with an Americano.
Hi Agranda, it has been chilly here with more rain on the way. Snow up in the mountains. We did enjoy the Malteser drink when we tried it and I think it's back at our World Market store. Hope you get a few Velvetiser drinks in before it goes away!
Costa in the UK is the equivalent of Starbucks for chain coffee shops, in my town there are 3 shops alone, they are everywhere & very good to. They also sell in supermarkets instant coffee & mocha sachets like those you tried & instant coffee. Well done to Richard for what he sent.
Hi Neil, I've heard of Costa coffee, but I don't think I've tried it. I looked on their website and while we don't have any of their coffee shops in our area, restaurants came up that must serve their coffee.
Thx for your reaction Love from Austria 🇦🇹
Thanks for watching!
I like tuna mixed with mayo and sweetcorn on crispbreads. Sometimes cheese too. Or salmon and cream cheese and dill if im feeling fancy lol
We still haven't tried tuna, mayo and sweetcorn. We usually have tuna, mayo and diced red onion. Which also sounds like it would be good on a crispbread!
Dont think ive seen chocolate covered mint cake before 🤔
They are so good!
We used to call them Bakestones when I was growing up. We baked them on a flat iron circular thing called a bakestone. We always put currants in them. I've never had them without. I think without currants they are not genuine Welsh cakes! Some people slice them open and spread them with jam. That's called a jam split in the Valleys You don't heat them up though. You eat them cold with a cuppa tea. Mwynhewch! (Enjoy!) from Caerphilly in South Wales.
Since this video we have tried them with currants!
Much like most food in America, our national dish in the UK happened due to the fusion of cultures, there are a lot of stories about Tikka Masala but to me, I believe it's our national dish because you can walk into almost any food pub and order it, you can walk into any store and buy it as a microwave meal and so many people in the UK make it as an easy home cooked meal, it may have originated in the UK but it has become something so common place in our diets and a slightly spicy, creamy and filling dish that literally everybody loves... That's why it became our national dish
That makes sense.
try the real thing. this stuff really pails in comparison
Hi both ,can you tell the difference as thay are gluten -free . I like things like that for lunch time after school . As it's about 2pm when I get home forme work . Riveter and crackers are my go-to with cheese ,tomato and red onions . Or pickle Or chutney . Hopefully you can understand. Take care and all the best . 😄😄👍👍👍🐶
Mince pies are crimbo in a pie . That why we only eat them at crimbo is we eat that many that we after have a year break very morrsih bit like Americas favourite crimbo tradition Crystal meth
They’ve recently done a gingerbread Oreo in the UK. Haven’t tried them yet, but they sound good❤
That sounds good and perfect for the season.
Hi guys! I don't think I've had anything from this brand. I've had similar to those 'regular' crispbreads and agree they are lovely for a light snack. And yes to butter and jam topping! I do like high fibre crackers. It's an age thing, I think!! Rye and sourdough (bread) is tasty. I agree rye alone can be strong and quite bitter. Fortunately don't have to go gluten-free, but it's good there are these products for those that do. Enjoy your weekend everyone! 😊
Hi Agranda, Happy Friday! Enjoy the crispbreads, I can see us having more here (with butter and jam too). The fibre crackers really aren't that bad ;) Love sourdough, it's our #1 pick, followed by ciabatta rolls. Even though strong rye bread is a bit too much, we like the rye breads crisps, such as Gardetto's. Do you have them there? www.gardettos.com/ Thank you and hope you have a great weekend! :)
@FinnLovesFood thanks for the link. I can get them via Amazon. Not sure if I can buy locally. 🤔
cheddar cheese and pickled onion is my favorite on crisp bread, or i like primula cream cheese on them.
Hi Cheekymonkey. That sounds delicious - we need to try that. Haven't heard for primula cream cheese before. Have a great weekend!
I recently tried Schär branded Jaffa Cakes and was not that impressed with them. They seemed almost stale but perhaps there was an issue with a particular batch. The sponge in particular was lacking compared to most other brands' Jaffa Cake sponges. But it is good to know that gluten-free options are available. I will look out for these Schär branded products the two of you have tried, especially as my Mother follows a gluten-free diet.
Hi Barry, we love Jaffa Cakes and know that slightly stale sponge. Too bad they didn't live up to expectations. It's nice to have options for people who eat gluten-free like your Mother. Hope you are having a good weekend.
Beans can heat in a microwave pepper & some brown sauce
Hi Ross and Tina hope you’re well I love Kendal mint cake but you can have to much you have to ration it best wishes from Cheltenham x
Hi Vanessa, the Kendal mint cakes are strangely addictive and it's easy to overdo it! Have a wonderful week.
Speaking of after eights, does anyone remember Terry's mint pyramids and then the mint pyramid bar?
I've seen dominos sugar cubes from ww2 that are still pristine, from unopened rations. A few months isn't going to affect kendal mint cake, for example as I mentioned with mountain and other expeditions and with digestive biscuits, they lasted and had to last because in the end survival was on the line if they got stranded or something. My wording might be a bit off as I have a migraine, really dulls the synapses so to speak
We didn't think it would either so we were surprised at how "crunchy" they were!
I wonder if the expedition box has a slight variation in consistency to relate back to what it was like in 1953 and perhaps the mountaineers keeping them in their mouth and letting them dissolve for a slower kick of energy so they'd last longer and perhaps they dissolved them with hot water for beverages with cocoa
Hi Nick, we wondered about that too as it was different from all the other mint cakes we've tried. The chocolate covered ones had the regular texture.
If yourself and Tina ever get across the pond to blighty please base yourselves in the north of England preferably in the Lake District area which is handily placed for you to see the beauty of Lancashire , Yorkshire , Cumbria , Northumberland , Durham and Scotland , there's not only the serenity of the countryside and desolation of moorland also you'd be close to all the big cities that have so much to offer , Manchester , Liverpool , Leeds , Carlilse , Newcastle , Edinburgh , Glasgow and please film yourselves doing so because i'm a great fan of you two , all the best and we look forward to seeing you in Gods country ( Lancashire that is )
@@johnhankinson1929 I agree John. Start with the best!
Hi John, it sounds beautiful up in the north. We would definitely want to film as we have a lot of fun with our "out and about" videos. Hope you're having a great week.
I'd concur. I'm from Durham so obviously I think that's the best place lol. I'm a short drive from the city, but also a short drive to the pennines. Everything we need close by, but also got nature on our doorstep. Best of both worlds.
Hi both ,I remember when I was younger we had mint club biscuits. Thay where plain biscuits with mint topping covered in chocolate. We also had an orenge club biscuits thay where all good .Thank you for sharing all you do .😄😄👍👍🐶
Hi Kudapooda, Happy Tuesday! Those club biscuits you described sound like biscuits we used to find at one of our local stores, which closed a few months ago. They went nicely with a hot drink, but we didn't see an orange variety, those sound good too. You're very welcome and thank you for watching, hope you have a great week :)
They still make clubs.
Hi Ross & Tina. Don't suffer too much having to eat all that sugary mint goodness! Chocolate improves everything it covers! That Old Gold sounds like it deserves a chef's kiss! Ross- I agree about the nostalgia. Cadbury Dairy Milk has changed so much. It used to melt perfectly in your mouth. It's quite waxy now imo. Sigh!! Great video, guys. 😊😊
Hi Agranda! Isn't mint supposed to be good for your stomach? Sooo isn't it technically 'medicinal'? :) Chocolate and mint is just one of those combinations we appreciate as kids and onward, never get tired of it :) Ross here, I would relate that to our Dove chocolate here - the dark chocolate used to have a firm texture to it that you would expect from dark chocolate(compared to milk choco), but for a while now it has a waxy texture to it, they really should have left it alone. Thank you for watching, hope you have a great week and Happy Tuesday! :)
Hi Tina Ross and Finn very nice video. There may be mint penguins but i've never seen any. Take care.
Hi Steven, Happy Tuesday! I believe you're right, we may have seen them either at our Touch of Britain shop or our Cost Plus world market(we're seeing them more at Cost Plus). We've been able to find the mint variety of TimTams, not bad at all ;) Hope you have a great week! :)
you mentioned After Eight mints have you checked out on RUclips their historical TV ads, oh the Posh image that is projected usually set at dinner parties
We just watched a few and see what you mean! After Eights are still one of our favorites for chocolate and mint sweets.
i love mint chocolate now i must get these kendal mint cake thank you ross and tina😄
You're welcome, hope you enjoy them!
Hope you are having a lovely day. I tried the Australian Peppermint last week. It was lovely
Thank you Graham, hope you are too. Agree, really enjoyed the Australian peppermint bar.
