For the rye bread, try some smoked raw ham, or salami, or a strong cheese like Camenbert. But if you bake it up, let it cool down before eating. Then put some butter on it, then the ham, sausage or cheese. I'm German, so I know what I'm talking about.... :) And in the future, try making your own bread. Its not witchcraft, you know. And its much cheater and you know axectly whats in the bread. Concider to invest in a bread making machine, totally worth it!
Love Camembert - good suggestion!
Most of the British history is rubbish made up it's a Indian dish
Colemans on a ham and cheese sandwich is a classic. If a little too much, one gets the nostrils cleaned up for free ;)

Hi Tina and Ross hope you’re well what’s happened to your boop miss it you’re one of my favourite RUclipsrs take care
Hi Vanessa, Thank you, hope you're doing well too! The next time we record a video, we'll do a boop just for you :) Thank you for the kind compliment, we always look forward to your comments :) Happy Tuesday!
*there’s me thinking…. Oh noooooo! Their love of Walker’s salt n vinegar and the Tyrrell’s prawn cocktail crisps is no more…!! * I once ate a packet of Lay’s Paprika flavour that I found in the mini bar when I was holidaying in Tenerife, I haven’t seen the flavour here and I would really wish I had 😯 they were really yummy! But the cost of the mini bar crisps though meant I only had the ONE packet!! 😳😳😳 (I foolishly checked the mini bar price list, AFTER I had eaten the mega expensive crisps 😲😖🙄) - the resort I was holidaying in was mostly hotels etc, and there wasn’t a SuperMercado close by sadly, so I was unable to satisfy my craving for paprika crisps that I would have stuffed inside a sandwich …😟
Hi Weedle! Ah love them both, the tang of the vinegar and the tomato flavour on the prawn cocktail crisps, addictive :) Just had some paprika crisps before dinner, something spicey that goes nicely with a drink. At a Brazillian steakhouse we dined at not too long ago, a side dish they brought out to us was a bowl of mashed potatoes topped with cheddar cheese and paprika. (we had 2 helpings :) ) Ahh the dangers of a mini bar, small servings but not so small prices. It's okay to endulge once in a while :) The paprika crips sandwich, now you really have our curiosity, I see one in our future :) Happy Tuesday and hope you're doing well :)
Might want to try some southern Irish tayo, the northern Irish brand tayto is a rip off of the southern tayto.
We don't typically see Tayto crisps here and not sure if we would know whether we had the Northern or Southern version.
@@FinnLovesFood The southern packet is red and blue and trust me it tastes way better. Might wait for someone to PO box them to you or maybe buy them online.
@@MrSchizoid405 thanks for the clarification.
I had some takis fuegos a couple of weeks ago (you kept mentioning takis and I hadn't had them in a long while) and although pretty hot I thought they overdid it on the lime to the point where I had to stop eating half way through because of the feeling in my mouth from the acid and they ended up causing a little stomach upset for the rest of the day. It was like someone just sprinkled citric acid on the "corn snacks", they used so much.
Hi Nick. We're not big fans of Takis - it's almost always a bit much. The last ones we tried were Blue Heat. We did try some cheese flavored Takis potato chips (rather than corn) that weren't bad.
@@FinnLovesFood have you tried doritos chilli heatwave yet?
@@Nick_Jarrett no we haven't. Sounds very hot. Have you tried it?
@@FinnLovesFood They're not very hot, as far as trying them goes I've been eating them since I was a kid, they're one of the best flavours (and my favourite) you can get and not available in the usa. Of the other American taste testing videos I've seen, they're always ranked highly.
Oh goodness no to the Squid.xx😮
😄 It wasn't bad! And I'm not one who likes squid.
You didn't try Scottish cheese, no need to, all Scott's are cheesy.
Great vid PIPers are my fave it would be great to a comparison 💯💯💯💯😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Maxine. We'll have some Pipers crisps to try in a future video too!
Banana had white choc milkchoc in choc eclair
We were quite disappointed with the galaxy digestives. We just found they lacked flavour
Hi Catherine, Happy Friday! Sorry to hear that, do you have a fave/preference for biscuits? Hope you have a great weekend! :)
@@FinnLovesFood Ha as an extra special treat (birthday and christmas), Fortnum and Masons Pistachio biscuits are so delicious
@@catherineturner2839 love pistachios - that sounds good.
Uk fanta is somewhat toxic, US fanta is a chemical shitstorm.
Cadbury Dairy Milk was always my preferred milk chocolate over Galaxy. As you mention, Galaxy is very smooth, creamy and I found it a little rich and sickly (Those mint and orange flavours are good though!) Nowadays, I've started to prefer Galaxy over the new recipe Cadbury. Love a chocolate digestive and whether they are Galaxy, McVities or stores own-brands, I'm in! Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Agranda! We would have to do a blind taste test over here to see what would be our preference when it comes to milk chocolate, we may lean more towards Cadbury. The Galaxy equivalent, "Dove", over here has a dark chocolate which tastes fine but has an odd waxy texture to it, we haven't noticed it with the Galaxy variety though. Ah chocolate, can't say no to it :) Happy Friday and hope you have a great weekend :)
I've tried all the chocolate digestive brands over the years and here's my preference order , 1st , McVities 2nd Cadbury's 3rd Belmont( Aldi brand ) 4th Galaxy but as far as chocolate bars go it has to be Cadbury , to me Galaxy chocolate is too waxy and pretty tasteless , enjoy your week and the rest of the bikkies
Hi John, it's interesting that you mention it being waxy as Ross thought Dove chocolate was a bit waxy. I thought I read somewhere that some American chocolate is waxy to keep it from melting as easily. Have a great weekend.
@@FinnLovesFood i read somewhere that Dove was owned by Galaxy , i may be wrong
@@johnhankinson1929 we've heard they're pretty much the same.
Never got dunking chocolate biscuits
Hi Lesley, we were a bit iffy on it at first, but people said that they dunk them so we've been trying it.
@@FinnLovesFood I probably am in the minority to be fair
Hello When I went to Florida in June, I noticed you had a couple of flavours of Lindt that we can't get in the UK.
Hi Graham, do you remember which flavors? Whether it's chocolate or crisps, it's always interesting to see the different flavors available in different countries. I always wonder if the companies think certain flavors will do well in certain countries?
@@FinnLovesFood I remember seeing Almond Butter Milk and White Peppermint. If you go to a site called Chocolate Emporium, you will see all the global flavours. The site also has Monty Bojangles and Ghirardelli
Hi I saw White Peppermint and Almond Butter Milk. I'm not sure why my reply keeps getting deleted
@@GRAHAM2109 I've had comments mysteriously disappear too. Almond butter sounds interesting - we'll have to watch for that one.
what did over week is make some snacks out of cadbury chocolate digestivesand i also added some giant jazzies on top and melted it on to the buscuit... very nice and just right to keep grand kids quiet for an hour
I had to look up jazzies. They look like what we call chocolate nonpariels. Your grandkids are very lucky! 🙂
@@FinnLovesFood i also put them on top of trifles and cakes. i eat more than i should too lol
Wonderful review. Thank you. By the way, you forgot to tell us about the time it took to prepare a cup. I've also heard some water kettles take longer to boil the water in US.
Thanks! That's right, it was about two and a half minutes - the same as the ones from the UK. I believe it does take longer for electric kettles to boil here. It's not much faster than boiling water on the stove. That may be why electric kettles aren't very popular here!
Stop talking mint,I'm drooling.xx😊
Hi Jackie, we have a whole bunch of chocolate mint items saved up. Some day we're going to do another big mint tasting.
Step aside Cadbury, galaxy is my favourite chocolate!
We see a couple of votes for Galaxy. 🍫
Don't feel bad, we all have to sacrifice the first few biscuits to the opening process 😆 I'm one that prefers galaxy over Cadbury, especially since Cadbury has changed their recipe over the last few years. But Cadbury has about 5000 varieties/flavours/styles and is much more widespread.
Hi Siobhan, that makes us feel better! 😄 We are amazed at all the different Cadbury flavors Richard has sent us. Have a good weekend.
Can't say I've ever seen or noticed those Galaxy digestives or flavoured Galaxy chocolate bars in UK stores. Specials or limited edition perhaps? Looks like Richard has some special sources!!
The galaxy digestives they are the only in Asda Superstores u won't find them in smaller Asda stores or Asda petrol stations shops either, Only Superstores.
They are in asda
Richard always finds unique items!
Love your videos but I am worried about all those biscuits you are both eating....too much sugar...it would not be my choice all those sweet biscuits but like to see you eating them...I would probably send cheesy crackers or something but take care with all that sweet stuff
We try to pace ourselves with the biscuits and share when possible. We've been sent cheesy crackers too! Cheddars!
Why do americans have to dip / eat everything with cheese
Tyrells are much better than Walkers. Awww little Finn, you should include him on the show.
He makes occasional appearances. 🙂 We have a playlist with Finn videos.
Take a wiff of this she says 🤣they were gassing poor soldiers in the trenches with this stuff and you want him to put his nose into it 🤣
😆
Hi guys , Tryells are a premium crisp/chip , l thought you would get Pringles Paprika flavour . The lightly salted ones l have on a sandwich with cheese and pickle. The beef and ale we were having a charity brunch at home and l emptied a few packs into a dish . Leaving a half empty pack on the island, five minutes later one of our dogs entered the room with the bag over his nose and eyes but still munching his way through..He removed the bag with his giant paw ,l asked him what he was doing , he walked away no shame just a successful mission . Ross be careful where you sit the hands on the poster look like you have horns.
He's got Portuguese blood in him ancestry it be Bull fighting 🐃, ya never know he might come from Matador orgin bull fighter red cape 😁
Hi Andrew. We don't get Pringles often, but after checking their site, I don't see paprika available here in the U.S. It doesn't seem to be a popular flavor here. You must have a large dog to steal a bag from an island! We've heard some heartbreaking stories of Welsh Corgis suffocating on crisp bags. They are so food motivated, but short legs make it difficult to get the bag off their head if a human can't intervene. We always try to be careful with Finn and not leave any bags in reach and cutting the bottom out of the bags before throwing away.
@@FinnLovesFood l volunteer at the local dog rescue, larger dogs don't do well in kennels and l'm on the list to foster dogs. I try to return them but Harvey is beautiful, and a Newfoundland. He has little trouble getting on the island and he thinks he is a lap dog and will try and sit on my knee. We do at the moment have our two gsds and four from the rescue of all sizes . Harvey is more likely to be fostered by us the chaos is the norm now. He is greedy ,(24 sausage rolls, cooling) but came from a background where he wasn't fed . He is now 80kgs and counting.
@@andrewfitzgerald2327 Harvey is a big boy! And it sounds like he won the lottery to be fostered by you. 🙂
PS Paprika is a popular crisp and snack flavour across Europe especially the further east you go
Breaking News....Tyrells have literally just released a new flavour Wensleydale and Cranberry and the pack artwork features Wallace and Gromit
I just finished a bag off this morning after my nights shift lovely really nice taste. They are exclusive to the Coop only u can not buy them in any other supermarkets other than main Coop supermarkets.
Oh, we saw a picture of it online!
@@rthoc71 it sounds unusual with the cranberry. Wonder why they made it an exclusive?
@@FinnLovesFood occasionally brands will launch with one supermarket only coop is more local supermarkets lots in dales if u ever get a bag u have try it with Wensleydale and cranberry cheese. See if notice difference
@@FinnLovesFood 👍
Tyrell’s are REALLY good., congrats Richard.
You could tell we were having a hard time choosing a favorite. And we have to do a "part 2" for the rest of the bags.
OK - I'll say it. Salt and vinegar crisps are horrible! I'm so glad I got that off my chest. 😀
Hi Margaret! It's okay, some of that variety are pretty horid - the ones where it's overdone, winchingly sour..just unpleasant all around. The mild ones don't seem that bad, or do you prefer none at all? Happy Tuesday! :)
All in choice of different vinegars some have your mouth tingling others be fine.
Sometimes you just want a plain crisp and Tyrells are good. I don't like any salt and vinegar crisps, Tyrells included. That said I don't add vinegar to fish and chips either. Have you tried any Pipers crisps? I too grow chives but I have 2 cocker spaniels who snaffle it
Hi Catherine, Happy Tuesday! We've tried a few Pipers crisps, and we have some more to try which we'll do a review of. I didn't know if chives were harmful to dogs, it has no ill effects on your cocker spaniels? So far we've been lucky with Finn staying clear of it, we have a small wire border area to keep him from wandering close to the oregano and rosemary. Thank you for watching :)
I could eat every single flavour and enjoy them all! The only flavour I've tried is the Cheese and Chive. I've got some catching up to do! Really want to try the Posh Prawn, and the Truffle and Sea Salt! Ross, we really need to see you in those glasses!! 😉 😊
Hi Agranda! They're all very tastey, we rarely find a crisp/chip we dislike. When you try the Posh Prawn, and Truffle & Sea Salt let us know what you think. Love the cheese and chives, dangerously addictive :) Ross here - okay, I will make an effort to have them with me and not do my 'I need to lean back and squint' routine :) Happy Tuesday :)
Tyrell's make lovely crisps
Hi Graham, Happy Tuesday! Loved the Tyrell's...and Savour Smiths......and the Piper's....Brit Lays....and the Keoh's ahh the list goes on, love the variety of crisps you have there :) What's your fave?
I like the thick crinkle cut the best. Salt and Vinegar was a childhood favourite of mine
What flavour did Fin have ? and if you ever come over the pond to Blighty you'll have to have the pub classic beef + ale pie with mashed spuds and gravy
Hi John! Finn had beef and ale, loved it as usual. The beef and ale pie with mashed potatoes & gravy sounds, authentic to that area, is a definite bucket list item for us. We picked-up a Trader Joes frozen steak and stout pie a while back, something for us to do a review of and I'm sure it doesn't compare to what you have there. www.clubtraderjoes.com/trader-joes-steak-and-stout-pies-review/ I have to ask, I've seen images of Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies, we don't have those here - what do you think of them(if you've tried them)? I've seen some comments similar to marmite - you either love them or can pass on them, just curious. Happy Tuesday! :)
@@FinnLovesFood Fray Bentos although still sold today are a thing i used to have back in the 1970's , they were something quick and easy to have for a meal ( i was a young lad of about 18 then and had lost both my mam + dad ) and they were very tasty . I've seen a few people taste testing them on line and people still give them favourable reviews ( try looking up , Atomic shrimp , Wierd stuff in a can reviews ) but they're a mere shadow of a proper beef + ale pie that you can have at some pubs , the best ones are the ones that have some mature cheddar melted into the gravy in the pie filling . MMMM i've made myself hungry writing this so i think i'll treat my wife and myself to a pub lunch this afternoon , lets hope they do a beef + ale pie otherwise it might be banger's, mash and red wine and onion gravy , see you soon
@@johnhankinson1929 hope you had a lovely lunch at the pub!
Tyrrell's best are the mixed root vegetables (beetroot, parsnip and carrot)
We still have more Tyrell's to try and I believe those will be in the mix!
Hi Tina& Ross, I love Tyrrel crisps, cheese& chive. Beef & ale. Slightly salted. But my absolute fav at the moment is Sea . salt and black pepper. Hope you get to try them soon. Great video.
Hi Valerie, I think we did get to try the salt and black pepper. I recall one of the bags didn't quite survive the trip intact so we had some right away during the unboxing. We're pretty sure it was the salt and black pepper!
Hi Tina and Ross hope you’re both well I love Tyrrells crisps especially the cheddar and chives I find the consistency of them is just right kettle chips are just to hard for me will have to try the beef and ale ones they sound lovely have a good rest of the week 👍
Hi Vanessa, we compared them to kettle cooked chips, but you're right, these are a bit lighter. Hope you're well too and have a good week.
Hi both ,I think I'd like beef and ale crisps ,thay all sound SO good. I'm going to have a look in Morrison's some time .Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍🐶
All were good, but the beef and ale were really top notch. Have a good week!
Once upon a time I had a bad bag of tyrells, I can't remember what the issue was but I think there was no seasoning on it, I contacted customer support via email and as an apology (gave them the batch code and best before date) they offered to send me some crisps. A few days later a big box arrived with about 6 bags of popcorn in, I contacted them again and they apologised and sent me another box, this time with crisps and the flavour i originally had which wasn't "satisfactory" as companies write on the back of their products. So yeah, great customer support, I still have the animal headed people pictures they sent alongside the crisps. I had a load of snacks to eat that month. it reminds me that about 22 odd years ago my nan bought me a tube pack of wine gums while I was staying round hers, in the pack there was about 3 normal ones and the rest alternated black and green so she wrote to them and I think we got a coupon for a share bag back
Hi Nick, wow, that's great that they actually followed up by giving you extra crisps. Nice that they stand behind their satisfaction guarantee. We've had a few restaurants give us coupons for free food after turning in a dissatisfied survey.
@@FinnLovesFood I think it was the sweet chilli as i remember the firemen picture. Then again my mum always refused anything with chilli in that I offered her as she always thought I was trying to blow her head off but I remember her agreeing with me that there wasn't even salt on the crisps.
Cheese and chive tyrells. My absolute favourite crisps of all time.
Hi Mark, great choices!
