Red Robins here in the U.K. are very friendly, in people’s gardens are always ready for a free meal😁. The birds on the Clock tin are probably Ravens from the Tower of London. Legend goes that if they leave the fortress and Kingdom will fall.
The American Robin isn't a true robin, but a thrush. The colonists thought the bird reminded them of robins back home so that's how they got the name! Now that you mention it, I think I recall hearing about the Ravens in the Tower of London.
Hello! M&S Christmas gifts and treats are just lovely. I've succumbed to their charms once or twice! Not this year though, but we are buying our Christmas meal goodies from there! Must say, I think their gifts are reasonably priced. Even in $. I agree, the 'snowstorm' could have been a little more 'exciting'. A few more bells and whistles required. 😅. I'm really surprised to hear that Jaffa Cakes are hard to find there. There's an import opportunity for you, Ross and Tina! The Californian supplier of Jaffa Cakes!! On that note, enjoy those sweet treats and have a lovely weekend. 😊
Hi Agranda, yes a missed opportunity with the snowstorm. It's nice that the battery is replaceable though. For a while we saw Pims, which are similar to Jaffa cakes, but now they seem to be gone too. Not sure why they have never taken off over here! Have a great weekend.
I’ve got the clock!! Well, mine has different patterning and is a different colour (bronze gold) *goes to have a look at her clock* the actual clock face of that of Elizabeth Tower (aka Big Ben 😉) - as you probably knew/guessed - mine has on the time numbers, a badger, a dog and a pussy cat 🤔🤔 the actual biccy tin, around the edges, are scenes from GB like images of the Lizzy Tower; Stonehenge; Edinburgh Castle; a Red Arrows flypast over Buck House; the Loch Ness monster Nessie! 😂, Blackpool Tower (think Eiffel but a tad smaller! 😂 but the Eiffel Tower isn’t part of a beautiful building and dancing ballroom); Tower Bridge; Mount Snowden in Wales; Giant’s Causeway in N Ireland; Tintern Abbey and the Glennfinnan Viaduct, the big causeway that Harry Potter’s train goes over 🙄 (I just hate how many people associate the architectural wonders and majestic buildings and castles of the UK, with that bespectacled boy wizard!! Not Jk’s fault but the power of the film and media marketing! Anyhooo… I got my biccy clock tin in 2020, last year I bought the “light up” church and the year before “light up” houses - the idea is to build up over the years, your own illuminated Christmas village. No doubt I will find something to add to my village - the trouble is, it takes up a lot of room on my window ledge! I’ve not yet ventured into M&S Christmas World but I’ve looked online at all the food goodies and treatos - however, they are offering a “buy three get one free” on all the Christmas Day “picky bits” like mini quiches and meat pies etc etc and then we have the desserts and mince pies….. 😯😯….. on my life! And then we have to consider the goodies and treats being offered by Waitrose….and Tesco …..even Aldi & Lidl have 🥳special festive niceties! The diets will have to wait! Have fun enjoying and sampling your M&S foods - when you do visit over here, just think of the pleasure you would have sampling their fresh foods n cheeses! Lots of love xx 23:54
Hi Weedle! Wow, that sounds like a nice version of the clock! :) I'm assuming this is it: www.etsy.com/listing/1283860693/marks-spencer-working-clock-biscuits-tin Love the looks of it :) We'll need to keep an eye open on ebay for it, would definitely be a keeper, thank you for informing us about it otherwise we wouldn't have known :) We're slowly making progress on our little light-up village, aside from the tin container houses/trees, we also have some light-up items from our Cost Plus World Market to go with it (just need to remember to power them off before bed) M & S Christmas world, I just googled it and found this website: www.marksandspencer.com/us/l/christmas-and-holidays/ I'll check again for their food items, love quiche bites (could easily make it an entire meal if no one is watching). It's a shame that the nice variety of sweet and savory treats we see now is only out for a limited time/this time of year. Do you have a favorite type of advent calendar? Last year we tried jams, hot chocolates, stollen, and small milk chocolates. Were there particular ones you usually pick-up? Thank you! When we do go there, seeing M & S is 'must do' list item, sounds like such a neat store and would love to see :) Hope you're having a great Friday and enjoy your weekend :)
My wife buys some of her clothes from M & S but we don't really get any Christmas stuff from them , you can buy that stuff in a store over here called B & M for 60% of Mark's prices , take care
Hi John, Happy Friday! Thank you, we were aware of M & S having clothing for sale, although we haven't ordered any (at least at this time). The B & M quality, would you say it's basically the same as M & S? We'll look up B & M, thank you for telling us about it :) Have a great weekend :)
@@FinnLovesFood It's really only in the last 30 years that M & S have concentrated on food , it was always ladies clothing and although it's at the cheaper end of the market B & M do sell some quality merchandise , have a happy Sunday
Hi Tina and Ross M&S never fail I bought a tree that played a Christmas tune for my friend she and her husband eat the biscuits and her son who’s autistic loved the lights on the ceiling so win win have a great weekend x
Or the Elizabeth Tower clock face😀 And maybe should have been Robert Powell the actor from the 39 steps movie clinging onto the clock face instead of a Busby hatted soldier🤣
Marks & Spencers now resembles a giant food theme park. There is so much choice, especially at Christmas. The food is definitely top notch, but it's just soooo overwhelming when you visit a store.
Hi Halloweenville, we would love to visit one some day. The prepared food options look good from what we've seen on videos. I wonder if it is as overwhelming as one of our Walmart Supercenters? LOL.
@@FinnLovesFood It is a dream to visit a Walmart one day. I've been to America 4 times, last time in 2005, but didn't even know Walmart existed then. Also would love to visit Yankee Candle headquarters in South Deerfield's. I have heard people come out with trolley's full of candles, that's my kind of day out, lol.
@@halloweenville1 Walmarts can be a bit much and the checkout lines are often slow. We used to have a Walmart neighborhood market which just did food and pharmacy. So much easier to navigate, but they ended up closing. We used to have a Yankee Candle store at our mall, but it also closed though I think we can still find their candles in other shops. They do have some great scents!
@@FinnLovesFood You can't get more truer to life than Yankee Candles. Jack Frost and Candy cane are my all time favourite scents. They used to do a Christmas Pudding one, but no longer make it. Darn.
i just looked at the price of the clock tin and its £21.25. which i thought was quite cheap. I used to shop there a lot when i was younger, its a nice shop to walk around.
That's surprising. That makes it slightly more expensive there - usually it's the other way around. The clock seems more worth the money than the snowstorm though I do like both.
Hi Margaret! We looked-up the jaffa oranges(also known as shamouti), interesting origin: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_orange Hope you're having a Happy Friday and have a great weekend! :)
Thanks Robert. We didn't even feel a thing - it was pretty far from us. Probably scary for those who had to move to higher ground. I've been through one major quake and don't want to go through another!
@ hello folks, Waitrose is a high end supermarket, it is part of the John Lewis partnership chain. John Lewis department stores sell upmarket household items.
M&S never fails to impress, even their credit card is worth having, enjoy your weekend
Hi Michael, Happy Friday! Really appreciate the creative thought they put into their packaging. Thank you and hope you enjoy your weekend too! :)
Love M&S especially at Christmas, they always seem to do everything just that little bit better..🇬🇧🎄
Hi Dizzielizzie, they do have a lovely selection from the few items we see here. Have a great weekend.
There are so many flavours out now in the UK. Personal for me is Cherry, Lemon and Lime, plus Blackcurrant and Apple 😊
Blackcurrant and cherry are favorites.

I was so pleased to see the clock tin review, as I have bought that as a gift for my niece and it looked amazing, so thank so much. A lovely review 😊
Thanks you Melanie. I hope your niece loves it!
I saw the clock tin in my local M&S. It was £10. Hope you both have a lovely weekend
