Hi Tina & Ross. Yum, your cheese board and crackers is very creative and is making me hungry. I'm watching this near midnight, in bed, and could easily go and raid the cheese in the fridge now!! I'm not a whiskey lover, but I must say that cheddar sounds interesting. Have a great Halloween/weekend! 👻 🧛♀️ 🦇 😊
Hi Agranda, Happy Friday! Thank you, glad you liked the cheese board :) If you do come across a whiskey cheese, please let us know what you think. Hope ou have a great Halloween and weekend too! :)
I've never heard of cheese mites, is it something you have in the USA, cheese and crackers and chutney does taste lovely, the Christmas markets in Manchester open on the 8th of November so there should be plenty of goats cheese to taste , I think Halloween is bigger in the US than here especially when we have bonfire night on the 5th of November, have a great weekend.
Hi Michael, these cheese mites came all the way from France! They can be a problem for cheese, but they're encouraged on some like this Mimolette we had. They're a bit creepy under the microscope! It's hard to believe it's almost time for Christmas markets already. Have a wonderful weekend.
Ash is a wonderful preservative that you don't see often even with cheese here although the alkaline properties means it's good for preserving meat, fish, cheese, eggs, some fruit and veg and will even keep insects away but it needs to be proper hardwood, no plastics and such. If it was good enough hundreds of years ago then it's good enough for today. Just not in our "convenience" orientated world.
Hi Catherine! We've been trying them as both, just snacking on them is addictive :) Do you have a favorite Flourish variety? Hope you're having a good Friday and a great weekend :)
Those sainsburys flourish look a lot like the Mrs crimbles cheese crackers. The dogs enjoy them as is and I've never actually popped anything on them and just eaten them plain. I mean they aren't "bad" but definitely lacking in cheese and are boring. Tuc have more flavour and I eat those plain too. I guess when I'm hungry I don't even think of having anything on them as they're right there fine as is when I walk by
@@FinnLovesFood very boring compared to your spread lol, I just got a nice nature cheddar and then one that is inspired by Mexican flavours. Has bits of chilli n peppers in. And plain old cream crackers. Haven't seen finn for a while lol... How's he doing
That looks like a real nice selection. It’s a shame that cheese is to perishable to send to you, hopefully if or when you can make it to the U.K. you’ll have a huge choice to try. Going on the Halloween theme there is the Blue Brained Cheese, looks like how it’s named, comes in moody or extra moldy😁. Bought it a couple of times at Borough Food Market in London.
@@FinnLovesFood Was pretty nice from I recall, was some years ago. If you like cheese you’ll love Borough Market as quite a few stalls and shops there, the biggest of which is called Neals Yard.

Also, the victorians taught us a lot about preservation of food.
Hi Nick, I read the ash can help with cheese ripening too. And the ash line in Morbier does protect against insects between milkings.
Looked good selection of cheeses there, glad chutney was liked. It's nice when u find cracker that goes well with cheese.
Hi Richard, yes, thank you! We've snacked on the crackers just out of the bag, but they are nice with cheese. Hope you're having a good weekend.
The flourish crackers are not really a cheese biscuit, they are more of snack like crisps

These had very subtle flavors compared to Tuc. We can see snacking on them plain, but they are nice with a little cheese too!
What a coincidence, ive bought cheese n crackers today to snack on. Yours looks more creative though lol, and the napkins are cute.
Hi Siobhan. Hope you enjoyed your cheese and crackers. What kind did you have?

It's not as much of an issue in the cooler parts of the year with wax sealed cheese but being dairy if the inspectors find it then it's done for
Hi Neil. We've heard of the Blue Brained Cheese. That would have been perfect! How did you like it? We would go crazy in the cheese shops in the UK. 😃

@@Temeraire101 we've heard of Neals Yard. I believe we've seen it on some cheese we've purchased here.
