I love Woodman's. I live in Chicago, and we'll drive up to Wisconsin 3-4 times a year to stock up. Besides the lower prices, Wisconsin has little to no tax on food, while Chicago has one of the highest food taxes in the country. Definitely worth the drive.
It is worth the drive!
I use tore storage bens. That stack so wen I get home I can just place them on the shelf and in the fridge makes it easy simple just label ur bens
That is a great idea!
Sounds like you maybe a great cook! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Some days yes and some days not so much 🤣
Thank you for the 7-up biscuits recipe !! I have Bisquick AND Starry soda stocked to use. I look forward to making these and exploring your other recipes. First time viewer. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
Let me know if you like them! Welcome 🥰
This is such a good idea. I do the same every year so I don't have to leave my house when it is cold or snowing. I love having a really good stock up pantry and freezer.
Thanks! We’re in Wisconsin so I know all about not wanting to go out in the cold and snow.
Great feeling to have a full pantry! Mine mostly consists of home canned food and dry goods like rice and sugar and such but I'm not criticizing you guys. And congratulations on the long term maintenance of weight loss!
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching. You have a great plan with your pantry. Nice job!
I also have a container of powdered milk just in case I can't get out. Its great for cooking also don't forget evaporated and condensed milk.
That’s a great idea! We had powdered milk during the pandemic.
Just seeing your channel for the first time. I am currently doing a list for our overflow pantry. Enjoy your day. I’m gonna watch some more of your videos. 😊
Thanks for engaging with us. I just subscribed to your channel as the title intrigues me (as I’ve gone blind, I’ve committed to declutter and downsize). Be well friend.
Thank you! Welcome! 😊
V8 is a good base for vegetable beef soup in winter. When it goes on sale, i buy the low sodium 32 oz. I add bouillon cubes, so dont need added salt. Pour V8 into stockpot then fill the container half full water and pour in. Add cooked hamburger or cooked meat, begin to add the vegetables you like. Extra seasoning you prefer. I bring to boil then simmer a good while. I have even added some elbow noodles close to the end. Its good but the next day after it sits overnight in the frig soaking up all the flavors, its delicious reheated. It thickens too. Fast, simple, delicious.
Sounds really good!
Sounds like how my Mother made hers. She seared a roast as the meat. So good!! Her vegetables were from left overs put in a container in the freezer. When it was full, she made the soup. I've been stocking up on V8 for stews and soups using my freeze dried food.
Since I'm in California in the central valley, it can go from 65° to about 35°, no snow but maybe rain. We don't really need to stock up since it's just me and my husband. We always have enough to last over a week. Being that I'm Mexican-American, I never buy canned refried beans or packaged Mexican rice. Homemade is much better or going to our local Mexican restaurant. All my life grandmother's and my mom, all the aunts made homemade whole beans, masshed beans (refried beans), homemade tortillas. And it saved a lot of money for them. Just buy a bag of pinto beans and reas the directions. I put pinto beans in chili instead of kidney beans. Kidney beans are harder to digest in the system, pinto beans are smaller and softer and easier to digest. Most of family were born here in California but learned a lot of cooking and recipes from long ago relatives from Mexico and Spain..and neighbors who are different ethnicities 😊❤
That is so interesting! It is great that you have these amazing family traditions! I would love to learn how to make homemade refried beans and homemade tortillas!
Great pantry haul! 🤩
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I love having a well stocked pantry. And I love doing this restock twice a year. Before winter, and before spring. I am trying to get my family to go in with me and buy a whole cow. But I will have to buy another freezer to do that so I am not pushing the point yet. It is much much less than grocery store beef and if you know the rancher and the quality of beef they produce you know what you are getting. At some point I hope to do same with pork. Her rancher quoted her 2000 dollars for half a cow. But they were willing to sell her the entire cow for 2700 dollars. So with the four households, each taking 1/4 of a cow. That is a great price on beef.
Meat from a butcher or rancher is soooo much better and usually cheaper than the grocery store. I hope it works out for you!
Just came across your video. You both are so sweet. Great haul.
Thank you!!
New subbie! Great haul and video!
Welcome! We are glad you’re here!
Welcome! I'm so glad you found our channel!
Im new to your channel and i watched the whole video even though we dont do a lot of processed food. Im very excited to watch your videos on your recipes that you linked. They sound wonderful ❤
Thanks! I hope you find some you like.
Hubby and I stay stocked up most of the year with the big push for the holidays. I like to combine a well stocked pantry with meal prepping for the week. I make a menu, shop my home pantry then go to the grocery store for any fresh items if needed then cook once a week. I normally make 3 meals for the 2 of us and we mix and match those for lunches and dinners for the week. I also LOVE the pot pies from HEB here in TEXAS. I buy 4 or 5 at a time and vacuum seal them. They last us a few months in the freezer and taste better than the ones I make. :-)
That’s wonderful. You guys have a great plan! Thanks for chiming in and so glad to have you here!
I like to do the same. I make a list of meals that I can make with what’s in the pantry and then I check to see what I need every week and just buy those items. It saves on our weekly grocery bill. I also like to do grocery pick up, so not tempted by all those impulse buys.
Yay Wisconsin! Love the shirt, from an ex Wisconsinite. Miss my state.
We love it here!
On Wisconsin!
Thanks for sharing-I JUST FINISHED STOCKING UP MYSELF-NEWJERSEY ❤

Newbe here ,hi from Australia.always feels good to have full pantry
So glad to have you here! Welcome!
Australia, wow! Welcome!
Hi! I’m new to
Your channel. Nice video. I agree with your items and philosophy too. We also get extra rice, flour, sugar, dry beans, drink mixes and coffee. We keep at least 6m worth of pet food in storage. I will have to check out more of your videos.
Welcome, glad you liked the video! I need to stock up on pet food, I’m always running short. Great idea!
Great Haul,I.been restocking as well it's getting cold already lol,new subscriber❤
Welcome!!
Where are you?: Cold? Nope, maybe by Thanksgiving. Where I may stull be in flip flops and a sundress.
Awesome video,watching here from B.C. Canada!❤
Nice, welcome!! We were just up in Sault Ste Marie and enjoyed some poutine! 😊
Awesome haul! Great idea to buy all at once 🎉 I’m excited to try your 7up biscuits. ❤
I love them!! I hope you like them too!
I also stock up on pet food and supplies. We have two cats so I order a large bag of dry food and at least 12 cases of wet food to get through the cold weather.
That’s a great idea!
That’s actually a great idea because we’re always running short on cat food!
Love to see a French onion baked chicken video when it’s time to make it! Thanks for the videos!
You got it! It’s so easy!

You guys are set for the winter!
And beyond 😊
If it shows I pressed the thumbs down button, it truly was a mistake. I went to look at the reply, and it moved.
Brown gravy, 1 can cream of mushroom poured over cubed steak in crockpot is delicious. Just flour and slightly brown both sides as usual, put in crockpot. Make gravy, stir or whisk can of cream of mushroom in and pour over. I start it on high for 30 min then turn down on low until tender.
Yum! I have done something similar. My mom made gravy with mushroom soup a lot when I was a kid. It’s so nostalgic and great comfort food!
Oh thank you. I have been looking for this recipe.
@@JenniferPerryMyScraproom If you have 6 to 8 pieces, double recipe.
I cook mainly Puerto Rican food. I cook enough to have leftovers for the next day for my sons and I. It’s just us.
Leftovers are great! Sometimes I’ll freeze my leftovers if there are a lot.
I like they give you paper bags.
Me too! I’m not a fan of a bunch of plastic bags.
I do this on a monthly basis (just my daughter and me). Just now we were eating something i made in advance last week and froze. Saves time and money.
Oh and those canned fruits you can also add to your cooking if you want it to be a bit sweeter. The manderins (including the sap) i add to my chili con carne.
Interesting idea! I love freezing leftovers because then when I’m hungry for lunch, I’m like, “oh yeah I have that delicious homemade meal in the freezer”!
Very good idea, stock up for the winter,it could be a hard one. Be prepared for sure.
For sure! Thanks for watching!
Great 🛒 trip.
Thanks!
Your channel just popped up! I’m always watching to see what others stock up in! I usually buy wal mart brand green beans and corn but peas and carrots I get le seur. Our favorite.
Great! William loves the le sur carrots too.
You two are adorable. I enjoyed the video. I was just cruising the RUclips streets and came across this video and I’m glad I clicked on it. I need to head out to my local store and do some stocking up as well but I’m too tired today maybe next weekend😊
I hear ya! You have to be well rested and well fed before you go on a stock up run. 😂
My girls love those Arizona fruit snacks! I bet you will love them, too.
Hey friend! 👋🏻
I’m looking forward to them!
I picked up my Chex mix too, last year they were gone before the holidays
I don’t know why but Chex mix always seems like a great snack at the holidays!
Hi Newbie Here from England, Gd Idea to Stock up 🥰🥰🇬🇧🇬🇧
Welcome friend! So glad to have you here and engaging with us.
Excellent! Welcome! 😊❤️
Don't mind buying those name brands as some can't be duped for flavor and texture. I try the store brands also. If delicious: winner!
Perfect way to look at it. 😊
Enjoyed watching....
Thank you for watching!
That was very nice.👏🏿👏🏿 I enjoyed it. And I love how full & neat your pantry looks! Well done ma'am❤
Thank you so much!
The Velveeta packs are perfect for elbow macaroni for one.
Great idea.
Used to shop at woodmans when I lived in Wisconsin..
I’d like it for a stock up but for weekly groceries, it’s way too overwhelming for me. Lol
I’m a new subscriber. I liked your show. Thank you!
Welcome! 🥰
I did 80% of my winter stock up the beginning of October and I'll finish probably the 2nd week in November.
I do have to stock up on dog food also.
Once I finish shopping in November, all of my winter stock up+ will be done except for milk and bread.
I won't have to think about going out on the super cold days or snowy days here in North Central Iowa this winter.
My 3 freezers are stocked.
I am retired and live alone.
I do have plenty to share with my daughter and her family if needed.
I am so very blessed by God to be able to do this.
Last year I wasn't able to get as prepared for winter as I am now.
Praise God.
I love that, what a blessing! It’s such a great feeling to be stocked up.
@@GuilkeysLimitedAdventures
It's an awesome feeling.
Now I know that I'll be able to help my daughter if she needs it.
Enjoying your channel. My Wife Carol and I are retired empty testers up in the NE corner of Indiana. (Under Michigan and next to Ohio).
I am the "Pantry Man" which when I announce it earns eye rolls from my wife. My first marriage was only my income and was a food struggle, so being able to have items on hand is a big help.
My question is I use Excel spreadsheets, how do you keep track of your items?
Hey Pantry Man! When I did the big stock up, I put meal ideas in a phone note for everything I bought. I’ll look through that note to decide what we feel like for supper each week. Then as the year goes on and we start to get lower, I will take an inventory and update my phone note. (I use excel too much at work, don’t want it in my “real life 😂😂)
@GuilkeysLimitedAdventures of course when you say or read "pantry man" you have to do it with "da ta da" as an announcement! I was self taught by a moron on excel! I think I have the year covered pretty good for the stock up. Do you get Randall beans in your area? Carol uses the Great Northern for soup beans and their Pinto for her Roast beef burritos that are legendary in the family. (The Randall beans are sold in a glass jar.) Forgive any Grammer, been almost 50 years since I was in school 😞
Like this store to go to when we come up each time in Wisconsin. Huge store.
It is huge!
New to your channel. I love this! You saved so much money! ❤ my daughter is buying her 2nd home and she got a really great deal on it even though the market isn't that great. I've been saying that she needs to stock up her Pantry...I think you get so much more Pancake Mix when you buy the box..I just use a plastic bottle when mixing it up...esp when I wanna make a FUNNEL CAKE treat...I've made cookies out of cake mix. There's so many options!
Tonight we are having Shepherds pie (we use Ground Beef, Peas & Carrots) brown gravy mix..diced onion is optional and so is garlic..you can use instant potatoes as well. The Idahoan potatoes are inexpensive and are real potato flakes. . .I really wanna try the 7up biscuits. When I make Biscuits and Gravy I add sausage and a tiny bit of syrup. Takes it next level.....I did see a bread/roll made out of Regular Vanilla yogurt (not greek) & self rising flour. They looked phenomenal! ❤ I subscribed ❤
Great ideas and welcome! So glad to have you here.
I'm so glad you found our channel! And welcome! 🥰
You're channel popped up in my feed and glad it did. New sub here! :)
Love woodmans go once or twice year for stockup, it's just myself, my mom and my autistic grandson. I go there and sams club get what need for about 6 months and get whatever fresh weekly and saves so much money this way.
Nice!! That’s exactly what we do, buy fresh weekly to go with what we have stocked up on.
Welcome! So glad to have you with us. Be well!
Great Haul. Do you check expiration dates. Great price value.
This is William and I’m a stickler for expiration dates! Even though I’m blind, I’ll occasionally ask some for assistance to make sure the date is good.
And… I’m not afraid to eat some foods after the expiration date. 😁
Awesome haul
Thank you! 🥰
I am anxious to try your prize winning chili! I really like chili in the winter! Yum! 😋
I hope you like it! It’s a favorite at our house.
Oh I wish I could afford this. Living in Canada is very expensive
Grocery prices are high here too. We try to use up what we have before we do this big grocery haul. We call it having “cabinet meals”. It’s a way that we save up for a few weeks before doing this big grocery haul. Definitely couldn’t spend $600 very often on groceries!
I didn’t realize that prices were so high in Canada, I wonder why.
I love your haul! I do have a question, what is illegally blind mean? I looked it up and it didn't come up anything. Was it a typo?
Yes, typo. (Old lady talk texting😂)
@@GuilkeysLimitedAdventuresah it happens. You don’t look old to me. My son is considered legally blind as well.
Thanks, I just turned 50 and I really need to use my “cheaters” to see anything small now a days 😂
Well, God bless your son and your family. It can be a challenge at times.
Wow nice❤❤❤
Wonder how much you would have saved buying store brands which are just as good and made by same manufacturers?
I’m thinking of doing some side by side comparisons of some of my favorite brands.
@@GuilkeysLimitedAdventurestry marking the bottom of the side by side cans then remove the labels. You'll have a more objective blind taste/texture comparison

I am from trinidad and i would love to have your pantry😢
I would love to share my pantry with you! 🥰
We would never have 600.00 for extra food we live on my husband's disability but a good idea🎉🎉🎉🎉
I lived on a tight budget for a long time (still kinda do) so I understand. I have heard others say they buy one or two extra items each time they shop. Not sure if they would work for you. Blessings to you.
Love your method, just with differnt food. Cook and bake daily, including the 15 animals in the house. I take the pets when a friend passes. They wouldn't be adopted in the traditopnal fashion. Many are old with health care issues. Would be euthanized. I give the best golden years possible.
Never meal plan as when I do, it costs much more than my budget.
Go to the butcher for meat and chicken. Then to the fishmonger. Then a local green grocer. They carry lots of locally grown items.
Costco. Sam's Club, Walmart for non food items. I have a tech free household and no chemicals either. No computer, no internet, no tv, no air fryer, no food processor, no insta pot, I have vintage pressure cookers.
I do batch cook and freeze in portion size containers.
Sounds complicated but it isn't for me. In the cooler months, I prepare a huge pot of soup and freeze in portion size.
Everyone has their method and are all good. There is no right or wrong.
Oh wow! That’s a lot of pets but I commend you for helping them! I also like making big pots of soup and freezing portions.
@@GuilkeysLimitedAdventures Thank you. Told my friend not to pass. The Ark is full up.
I don't understand the not-going-because-I-buy-impulsively theory. I glean the store weekly and grab incredible bargains by buying things THAT WE USE on sale and just looking for closeouts, instore specials and the like to add to our stocks and maybe, just maybe find a few things that are affordable that we could not otherwise afford.THAT is not 'impulse', that is finding something nice on a bargain that we would ordinarily want to get, but would be out of budget. We save so much on weekly sales and prices that honestly,I was very surprised at the amounts I saw on the shelves in your store, and that you picked up. Hey, more power to you, but to tell people that they have no willpower is not helpful.
This made me laugh because you don’t know my husband😂😂 take a look at some of our shorts and you’ll see how my husband buys every new fun treat there is at the grocery store. He has no willpower! 😂 If you can shop the way you’re shopping that is perfect! Wait till this weekend and you’ll see my freezer stock up and how I show our local grocery store has close out meats each week, which are great bargain.
@@GuilkeysLimitedAdventures Well, bless your heart. I think most men are that
way.Mine is a bargain hunter, but I do have to talk him down when it isn't a bargain if we don't use it! Definite close-out meat times sounds wonderful. It's hit and miss in mornings at mine. Whatever works. Take care.
Then she is NOT TALKING TO YOU. Why is it so hard for you to grasp that she isn’t talking to every human on the planet? But statistically, people buy impulsively because the store is literally designed that way. The way the store is set up uses psychology to get people to buy more. Just because you know better than to fall for it, doesn’t mean the masses don’t!
Thank you.
How many ranch packages do you add to sour cream.
It’s strong, so add a little and taste it. I usually make an 8oz container of sour cream with half the ranch packet. If you want it for a dressing, add a splash of milk to thin it out.
Hello, your video came up on my YT feed this morning. Do you ever shop at Dollar Tree and Dollar General ? They both have great deals on canned, dry food items and snacks. Dollar General will run cereal deals almost every week. Plus, using digital coupons and their Sat. $5off$25 will save you lots of $’s !!
I haven’t done much shopping there. I’ll have to do some comparisons. Thanks for the great idea.

@@williamguilkey2033 thank you !
Is there a specific reason why 90% of your stock up is brand names? Youd save (or get farther) buying store brand items. They are made by the same companies that make the name brands on the same lines with the same exact food.
We buy what we like and will use. I do like some generics and I plan to do some comparisons.
I did a comparison…. ruclips.net/video/HBXEGvSzi64/видео.htmlsi=t8IlZgV-bpvG9_vX
My kids think that the Arizona gummies are the best. Hard to find though.
You’re the second person who’s said that. I haven’t tried them yet but now I really want to.
Woodman's!! Ahhhh I miss Wisconsin 😢
It really is a great store but can be overwhelming.
Where is this store located
This store is in Janesville WI. There is also a location in Madison WI
I think there are more locations in northern IL
What's the name of the store?
Woodmans (in Wisconsin)
I know nothing about you, video just popped up in my feed so i have a question. Are you hoarding food because you expect a rough winter and won't be able to get to the stores or do you live far away from shopping/stores?
Did you watch the video? We are trying to save money by not going to the store as often. One cabinet pantry doesn’t feel like hoarding food to me. We will slowly use this up and then do it again next year. It’s something that many families do. I like to share our money saving tips.
@GuilkeysLimitedAdventures No I didn't watch the video...duh. I just don't understand food hoarders because it does not save any money at all. But your hoarding isn't my business so keep on hoarding if it makes you happy.
@@alabamatrixie7379thank you so much for taking time to engage with our channel. You raised some good questions that I would answer. First of all, we are in Wisconsin USA, so winter here can be uncertain to say the least. Secondly, I’m Sarah’s husband and I’m legally blind. I lost my vision in 2022 and had to stop working last December. Because of this, Sarah has to drive everywhere and shop etc. Doing this kind of grocery haul sets her up for more streamlined processes at meal time etc. She has a lot on her plate due to my adult onset blindness. I’m very proud of her and how well she juggles so many balls. I’m sorry that this video didn’t “hit” for you but I’d love for you to check out some of our other videos to get a more balanced and well-rounded perspective on us. Who knows, you might find that you like us! Thank you again for engaging. My wife is the kindest, most giving, carefree woman I know. I wish you knew her better.
Just imagine how much MORE money you would save if you...
1. Buy store brands of canned goods
2. Actually buy ingredients to make your own mixes or pre-packaged convenience (like from scratch pancake mix or from scratch biscuits using flour, lard, and buttermilk)
4. Ditch the kuerig & use only brewed coffee
3. Make your own sauces, salsa or pico de gallo, and salad dressings from scratch.
4. Buy more pure, single ingredients then make your recipes
Where is this place? We do not see those prices around here. 😒

Nice haul, but you must not be on a budget with all the name brand items. I'm all about seeing how much I can get for the least amount of money. Plus, we're helping to raise 3of our grandkids, so we don't have that luxury.
We save up for this yearly haul and do have a budget. I like some generic items but I do prefer a lot of name brands too. I’m thinking of doing some one on one comparisons to see if there are differences.
I use both some generic less expensive brands and some name brands. Why? Because some less costly brands use more water in the same size can as name brand so you are actually not saving and some are of poor quality, with stems and rocks, et.; others are fine and I enjoy saving the money.

Throwing the door open wide for childhood diabetes, inflation and a dozen other illnesses they will have to combat their entire lives. All the idiots in your comment section are probably just as bad, why else would they be cheering this on… But this is America so you do you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@wellwait4197I’m grateful that you took the time to respond and give your point of view. I would do well to increase my vegetable intake and greatly reduce my consumption of processed foods, particularly the highly processed ones. I am all for the free exchange of ideas and I don’t believe in censoring comments. I would, however, like to take exception with name calling and labeling. Most people are doing the best they can with what they have (socially, financially, physically etc.). There are NO idiots here. We are all just people making our way through the difficulties of life. I’d love for you to provide and veggie recipes you find especially tasty. Thanks again for chiming in and even hanging the courage to have a different perspective.
@@williamguilkey2033 . “Take exception”…🤣🤣🤣 you white people crack me up. Where I come from name calling is an endearment 😘😘
The cost would be half of what you spent if you just switched to the generic/store brand. All you're paying for is the name brand.
Sometimes generic brand food doesn’t taste good. Tried to do that with honey nut cheerios and switch to GV to find out that kind was bland and tasted like sand. Then nobody eats it so just goes in the garbage.
There are some generics I like but for the most part I do stick to name brands. Maybe I should do some comparisons. Could be fun and save me money in the long run.
Buy what you eat, eat what you buy. I don't use very much generic either. It's just what I'm used to. There is nothing wrong with generic, especially if you are used to it.
The ingredients in generics are at most times very unhealthy
