Also bought a C7 GS sight unseen but it was from a forum member who also had a transferable warranty. I did hire someone from Lemon Squad to look at it for me and drive it. Sent a bunch of pics that told the whole story pretty well for the most part. When I finally saw it in person, everything checked out. Have had it for a little over a year now and haven’t had any issues as of yet thankfully🙏🏽 definitely risky but there are ways to mitigate the risk

One thing about panel gaps… GM is known for slacking on fit and finish so a lot of the panel gaps are original from the factory. I love these cars, they are my favorites but I have to admit the quality isn’t on the same level as more expensive cars and that’s ok to me. I’m still a Corvette guy for life ❤

My uncle had a ‘63 Stingray for as long as I can remember then just recently sold it and bought a 2024. He said he had to get an old man ‘Vette because the rack and piñon steering, manual transmission and maintenance are too much for his 75 year old body 😢 That ‘63 was in immaculate condition, garage kept, wish I could have afforded to buy it

I can say that theC4 generation Corvette is most likely the most reliable of them all. Yes you will have some issues with this and that, but i think the fix is more affordable than the other generations. Having a sorted C4 will bring many many miles of trouble free driving. I would say the 1991 Corvette is the most reliable and also best Corvette ever made.

With those miles & condition seems like u could have found one a lot closer?? Unless you stole this one? But can't imagine a dealership gave u a great price?? I have a 1999 Hardtop w only 22k miles. 6 speed manual w Z51 suspension. 💯 % bone stock. Still smells new. I upgraded the end links to MOOG brand what a difference, it literally transformed the cars handling. Everything is tight. The OEM ones were made of some type of rubbery plastic material and they were worn out. My CD changer worked for about a week then broke. They weren’t supposed to be mounted vertically so go figure. Love my C5 , my first corvette bought last April. I did have to replace the harmonic balancer 2 months ago due to age, it was wobbling and screeching. Nice c5. I wanted silver but mine is pewter metallic only about 1000 made in 1999 in this color

My experience with Hertz was way smoother. I just got back from the UK, where I rented a Polestar 2 from their LHR location. This was my first EV experience, so the only thing I knew was that I didn't know anything. I always ask about the return-fueling expectation at the desk every time I rent a car, so I knew the deal on that. I went with the prepay option. I then sat in the car for an hour before driving it off the lot, to get an understanding of the car's controls, infotainment, how to charge the thing, etc. I called the staff over many times asking them questions about it. I even watched some RUclips videos to get an understanding of the car. The staff were very helpful; I wouldn't have guessed where the charge cords were located otherwise! My point is: I might have looked like an idiot, but by the time I drove off, I understood enough to drive stress-free. Hertz in the UK have partnered with various EV charge station operators so you only have to wave the key fob at the charge point and it sends the bill to your Hertz account. Smart thinking! I was lucky to stay at a hotel that offered free charge points for residents, so I never had to pay for a charge my whole stay. I didn't know that in advance, but I would definitely look for that next time! The only down side to this rental was that Hertz had locked-down some of the car's functions, e.g. the car would "forget" my phone if I left it for more than a few minutes - I had to manually re-pair it every time. You can't download new apps, and Android auto wouldn't fire-up (looked like it wasn't installed). I bet the ownership experience would be smoother with these things opened-up. Overall, it was a great first-EV experience, and Hertz helped with that...as long as you ask them before you leave!
