Got to the Tail of the Dragon at just about 8 in the morning. No one was driving the road. Morning was the perfect time.

I live near the Dragon, it’s always smart to go during the week, less traffic and is much more fun without all of the maniacs.. just me! 😂 lots of awesome roads I. This end of the state into North Carolina and north Georgia…we have a C6 & a C8 and I have a couple of motorcycles… lots of fun!

If you guys come back down, hit the Back of the Dragon in Tazwell VA. I'm an equal distance from the two and I much prefer the BOD or TOD. It's far less crowded, less scary teenager, has wonderful views, and has more of a mix of curve types. Lots of tight stuff like the dragon but also long sweepers to enjoy. It's a less stressful drive and reminds me of roads you would see over in Europe. There's also a store at the Beginning similar to what the TOD has for gifts, food, coffee etc. and a much larger and scarier dragon dragon to take pictures with lol.

I drove the Tail with my club in my 2023 Camaro a couple weeks ago. I must need to upgrade. That C8 must handle like a BEAST, if you think they exaggerated the amount of turns! 🤣🤣

We took our 2007 Z06 on a 6700 mile road trip from Northern California which included Tail of the Dragon and the National Corvette Museum. I followed 3 guys on motorcycles. It became obvious that they had waited for a break in traffic and we drove it at a rapid pace and didn't run into any traffic. One of the guys had crutches on the back of his motorcycle. We wondered if he currently needed them or were they just in case of an accident. I was amazed that the 505 hp car averaged 26.5 mpg over the 6700 miles.

I loved your comment about the former speed limit being 55mph. Sure wish that joker from the C8 page could hear you say that !! We have done the Tail a couple of times. FUN !! I take it since you are from Michigan (as are my wife and I), you have done the 119 from Harbor Springs to Good Hart. We love stopping at the Leg's Inn for a great meal. ENJOY !!! After you take that driving school... maybe you can step it up a notch... heck.. maybe even get your photo on that one wall. Just kidding... I wish that on no one. Keep being safe.

I came across the tale of the dragon when vacationing in the Smokey mountains. We unfortunately didn't have my 2020c8, but my wife's 2010 crv. I kept up with Harley baggers and waved the crotch rockets on! Fortunately we were there on a weekday! Lots of fun!

Looks like you are enjoying your C8 and kudos for running the Dragon! I am on the order list for a C8 Z06 and I will take her to the Dragon for fun, but my primary interest is getting back to track days at Road Atlanta.
We use to run the Dragon a several times a year when we had our C5R-427 track car. It is fun chasing crotch rockets because they are not use to cars staying with them. We did have a near miss once. Fortunately it was a blind curve which I always proceed with caution because as we came around a car coming the other way was pulling a boat trailer and the trailer was ~3 feet in our lane. Hard braking while pulling a couple of feet into the gravel saved an accident.

Excellent video. I took my 2018 ZL1 Camaro on the Tail of the Dragon in June. It was my 3rd time. My brother also dove his SS Camaro for the first time. He had a blast. I highly recommend this trip.

I like Cherohala Skyway and Foothills drive myself, much nicer views and better maintained roads. The Dragon has too many kids racing their Mom's old modified Hondas through the tight turns.

Nice video and a good job of describing the Dragon. I suggest the next time you're near the Dragon, you also drive the Cherohala Skyway. This beautiful road might be even more fun, as it is much faster with long sweeping curves and beautiful overlooks.

Perhaps...but it is the WIFE's car...and she was riding with me! So I save those speeds for my track days back in Michigan
