I love my MX-1, it really is a macro master!

Great shots there .I bought the 100s with the 35-70 .I had a samyang 135f2 from my nikon gear (crazy sharp lens) so i bought a second hand adaptor .It is absolutly stunning and on the gfx sensor you effectivle get 135mm X 0.79 and f2 x 0.79 which equates to a105 f1.4 respectivly give or take a .5 mm No vingnetting and you end up with a lens matching and in bokeah outdooing the 110 gf fuji .I have the cine version .It's a heavy ba..t..d but it really gives thet 3d iq and even @f2 it really shines. The cine version is the better option as it's clickless apeture and 250 smoleys cheaper than a used digital slr model used.

does it really reset all the settings? I have a Pentax Q with dead internal battery but that one only resets the clock. But I know that this camera is quite different from other Pentaxes of the time (very limited jpg engine, no firmware)

What kind of battery did you put inside ? Is it working with LR44 ?

My favourite bit was the "Oww, Oww, Oww" in the hail storm. I was going to get one of these for £650 because I though the single point autofocus, back button technique I normally use can't be as bad as they say. I thought all these RUclipsrs are probably just whinging and comparing it with Sony, Canon, or the upmarket Nikons. You've given me serious pause for thought.

Never understood the MX1. It's Olympus XZ-2 lens and internals with different and (IMO) inferior external design.

I had one of these ordered from japan, it had a really odd issue with the SD reader where it couldn't read anything.. So when I took out the SD card out of the camera it was essentially a brick. From the time I had the camera though it was genuinely a gorgeous little camera.

I’ve just discovered your site and would like to add this….I’ve broken a couple of TZ 70s and hated the 80 and 100 replacements for a simple reason, they do NOT allow photos to be filter edited after being taken which the 70 does to the nth degree and allowed me to produce some great but ridiculous effects ! I now have the dc-tz95D which I also dislike as for the money the macro shots are no sharper so I’m going to see if WEX or the LCE here in Newcastle would like to do a swap ! I would not dream of buying a more expensive camera as I’d just break it and believe the 70 is almost the perfect compact camera !

this isn’t the cheapest Leica. The leica CL is cheaper. A great fully manual compact camera too!

These old sensors can poop out. Images become ruddy looking. Contrast builds up and a crossover comes into the colors. Unfixable in Photoshop. I had some early sexy Samsungs..I probably still have them along with some early Panasonic LMC somethings. The Panasonic had the best glass. All non usable now. What's lasted is the Canon Elph 310. What will help you with these is keep your cameras away from pocket lint. The zoom lenses will suck the dust back to the sensor, and you'll never get it off. Put the camera in some kind of zip lock, or something...The 310 did come in a very cool case.
