Some of these older CCD sensors have better colour accuracy then todays sensor. They are more accurate in terms of what my eyes sees. All manufacturers have gone to CMOS, but something has been lost. The photos whilst being higher resolution, don't capture colours accurately.
Do you have any recommendations? I’ve been looking just don’t know what to actually spend my money on
@@ellizer0 I have taken great shots on Olympus C-7070, C-8080. There are SLR variants.
I did try Olympus XZ-1 whilst otehr people rated it, I always felt something was off.
The Olympus XZ-2 was CMOS based. I like the colours from this camera.

Actually it has nothing to do with CCD. Older cameras did not use such a sofisticated sensor filtering stacks and also they did not care that much about high ISO performance. Todays cameras do altough color reproduction of these do suffer a little bit. Usually one can get quite close to an older "CCD" like look but yes it's not 100% there. By the way Olympus E-1 is stunning ! Cheers

I've also recently had a Nikon Coolpix P5100. I was nonchalant in use, and let one of my kid relatives use it casually until they broke it, later realizing that that camera actually super great and now im stuck with a broken retro cam which i regret not taking care of personally. All the shots that came from that camera was wicked and color was nice.
I feel the same way about male hand bags. If it doesn't fit in my pocket, it's staying at home.
Keys. Wallet. Phone.

Nice. I own several old CCD sensor cameras and have tried and sold a ton more. The Canon Powershot G3 is the digital camera closest to film Ive ever used. This looks interesting though.
Is the Powershot 3 a lot better than the 1? I really didn’t gel with the 1 and I love these types of camera

These are definitely surprising results from a CCD. Kinda makes me wish there were more like it.
afaik schneider has only made 2 lenses for hasselblad, they mostly make lenses for phase one and large format cameras
Yeah I misspoke. What I meant was I know them for their work with Hasselblad personally.
They also made the lenses for old Kodak tiny bridge looking CCD point and shoots

Low quality video and no viewfinder are 2 features that would put me off.
I have the Canon A650is that I think beats it on every point.👍
Better to expose for the highlights if shooting jpeg via spot meter.
Bokeh on a small sensor and or slow lens requires your subject to be far away from your background. That's why these cameras are great for being small and light. You can pack one in your pocket, bring some strobes and shoot in the mountains or desert.

These old sensors can poop out. Images become ruddy looking. Contrast builds up and a crossover comes into the colors. Unfixable in Photoshop. I had some early sexy Samsungs..I probably still have them along with some early Panasonic LMC somethings. The Panasonic had the best glass. All non usable now. What's lasted is the Canon Elph 310. What will help you with these is keep your cameras away from pocket lint. The zoom lenses will suck the dust back to the sensor, and you'll never get it off. Put the camera in some kind of zip lock, or something...The 310 did come in a very cool case.

@@aaa84gtPanaLumix DMC-FS42 and PanaLumix DMC-TZ80 also do crisp black and whites in point and shoot. Fujifilm X10 as well.
