I’m turning 14 soon and I often feel like everyone is in a different world than me, sometimes I just look at people in the gym during passing period and realize they can’t talk to each other without simultaneously scrolling. I also just got a phone and find myself scrolling, however every time I scroll if find myself wishing I was more productive. Everyone wishes to be more but does nothing to achieve what they want to do.

I got my first phone when I was 11, because my school started using the internet to set homework, then I did a full switch to spending most of my time online when covid hit, because all my school work was online. I always used to get bored all the time, but I then remembered that when I was like 7, my brother used to show me RUclips on his phone and I'd never seen youtube since those times, so I decided to start watching youtube. 5 years later, and now it's a habit, becoming an addiction day by day. At least there are videos like these out there though so I'm not becoming mindless 😂

I´m always surprised how few people take the train or the bus without their phones out the whole ride. I like looking around or thinking about stuff while sitting there. Eye contact to other passenger has become one of the rarest things in total contrast to let´s say 15 years ago. I´m really into tech & got called names while growing up because I spent a lot of time at the console or my pc. I expected to become one of the many dopamine zombies but nowadays I enjoy the calmness in my mind more than ever. Kinda fascinating & very conserning - maybe I got lucky because I grew up while this stuff was still growing up itself. 😮

Something to add: besides scrolling frying your brain and feeding off negativity, it replaces the thinking we do.
