My name is Wade, and I am an outdoor warning siren enthusiast. I enjoy filming warning siren tests in my area as well as other areas. When I get the chance, I like to film sirens during a tornado warning and storms as well. Yes, there are many others that also post their own siren videos here on RUclips. If you are watching my videos for the first time, I hope you enjoy them. Please leave a comment, even if my videos are not to your liking. Let me know what you did or did not like about them, but please do not be offensive. Any advice on making better videos is welcome. If you want to use any of my videos for your production, please be kind and ask me first by leaving a comment stating your intended purpose. Thank you again for watching my videos. I will add new videos when I have the time.
Richardson 2001-130 Siren
This is my first Richardson, Texas siren test video of the new system with one of the new Federal Signal 2001-130 sirens. This is my first 2001-130 siren I filmed with a flashing signal beside it. Interesting to see the siren continue rotating for nearly a half turn after the wind-down (shut off) began. I am not too terribly happy with this video since I had trouble stabilizing my tripod head at the beginning. Editing did not help improve the video as much as I wanted; it was a "take it or leave it" situation. Still I hope you enjoy this video, and thank you for watching.

I am sad to learn of Lancaster replacing their STH-10 and RM-127 sirens. I have not kept up with the status of the Lancaster outdoor warning siren system, but a comment on my other Lancaster siren video shocked me about the new T-128 sirens they have. All we can do now is appreciate the many years Lancaster kept their old but good vintage siren system going. I intended to go back and make anoth...

This is a video of a 2001-130 siren by Federal Signal located in Mesquite, Texas. I filmed it on June 6th, 2012. This version of this video is longer, and has the entire test, and the entire distant siren ambience before activation. A viewer liked the other sirens in the distance, and left a comment saying so. Federal Signal Modulator siren (7 pods) in Duncanville, TX

This Modulator siren video was recorded in 2012 in Duncanville, Texas near the Costco Wholesale warehouse just off US 67. It has 7 pods (speaker unit layers), but there were some in this city that had 6 or only 4 pods. This siren, and all the rest have been replaced with Federal Signal 508 sirens or maybe 2001-130 sirens. I am not sure if any siren other than the 508 is in the Duncanville siren...

This is a Federal Signal 2001-130 siren in Mesquite, Texas sounding a steady (alert) tone. It was recorded June 6, 2012. While I don't have high dollar video equipment, I did my best with what I had during the recording process. I appreciate feedback and constructive criticism, but PLEASE be respectful, and DO NOT leave any rude or nasty comments. As always, thank you for watching.
Nice to see an incandescent beacon still in action I have a H&P KG-114 and a Crouse Hinds FCB-12. The two I have are the older style with the clear outer glass and the red filters.

T-128
Hi Wade, I was wondering if you remember where this unit is located in Mesquite?
This siren is located on the 3200 block of Independence Drive near Town East Blvd behind Harbor Freight Tools. Easy to find. If you post a new video of it, let me know, I would be glad to see it.
That looks like a T-135
They look alike its just T-128 has a sloped horn
Any idea the model of this one?
This red tower beacon light is a type FCB-12 manufactured by Crouse Hinds.
If you are interested, another red light beacon of this size using the same type of incandescent lamps is a KG-114 by Huey & Phillips.
There is a radio station in my county that has 4 really tall radio towers. Each have one of these lights. You can usually see them from either sides of the county. I can even see them from the top of the hill my house is on
That sounds almost exact to the ones in my area. 😂
These are getting harder to find around DFW
I probably have one of those horns in my room right now lol
It would be funny to have a recording of Beavis and Butthead sounding through a Whelen 2910. "HA HA!! THIS IS A TORNADO WARNING!! TAKE SHELTER NOW, OR I'LL KICK YOUR BUTT!!! I do laugh about this idea.
I can just imagine what that would sound like 🤣

Good thing this was replaced by an dual tone federal signal DSA6 The DSAs provide WAY better coverage and get your attention way faster with the dual tone sound

Hello wade, I have a question, have you recorded the ACA Allertor siren in Hurst, Texas before? The town is near Fort Worth Texas.
I do have one video of it.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 can you post the video? Id appreciate it
@@owensanders7432 Your wish is granted.
Do they still use this siren today?
This RM-127 siren and all the others just like it, along with the STH-10 sirens in the Lancaster siren system, are now retired. The new sirens are rotating sirens like the one in this video, but look and sound very different. Thank you for viewing this video.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 thanks for the information, when does Lancaster test their sirens? I might go there for a test soon, I really want to see some 8 port sirens go off.
@@owensanders7432 I would call the non emergency Lancaster Fire Department and ask for the personnel who tests the sirens, and ask those folks for the latest test schedule. They test at around 2pm, weather permitting. Back in 2012, the fire department would actually go to various siren locations and report back if they worked or not. They would then go to another group of sirens, sound them off, and report back. I happened to get 2 siren videos in the same day because of this. They have, I think, NEW T-128 sirens that rotate and have 8 ports on the front. My Cedar Hill siren video has a T-128 if you are curious about it. Let me know if you go to Lancaster for a siren test.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 I might go in September

@@wadessirenvideos6750 Also have you ever film any sirens around in the early or late 2000's?
@@adamssirenadventures6574 The videos I have are from 2011 or after. The fact that I fondly remember Thunderbolt sirens from my childhood days in Dallas, and that Dallas, almost overnight, retired their Thunderbolt siren system in favor of the current system is a very big reason why I am interested in older outdoor warning sirens. Richardson also replaced their Thunderbolts and a few 2T22 sirens with T-128 sirens at around the same time as Dallas upgraded. They did keep one older refurbished 2001-130 and added it to their then new system. As of January 2022, Richardson has another new system of Federal Signal 2001-130 sirens, a big surprise to me. I will post these older videos I made as I find them.

You know, I get the feeling this thing had like a zillion blown drivers.
I believe it. I went to another siren in Duncanville during their Modulator days that had only 4 pods, and it was not worth filming it. It hardly had any sound output. Probably why Duncanville replaced all the Modulators with Federal Signal 508 sirens.
When was this originally recorded?
This video was recorded on Wednesday December 5, 2012
@@wadessirenvideos6750 Damn, that’s basically ancient history at this point.
The second time it would up I think it was running on batteries only instead of direct power. nice video
That's interesting. I did not think that battery power was a possibility until just now. When I filmed it, I thought it was strange to have a wind down and a wind-up happen within one second, like in this siren test session. I was hoping it would be a FAST WAIL for the rest of the activation. This still has been worth filming. Thank you for your comment.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 the activation software they use has a feature that allows them to switch the siren to battery power.im guessing they were probably testing the batteries to make sure they were still holding a charge
I miss the old system. It’s all T-128s now
That's really sad. My fear had come true that the older sirens would get replaced. I wish I could have my own siren system of restored vintage sirens set up for public warning notification. I would set them up in places where people could film them.
Oy! Soundscape person! Do any of the RM-127s still run or are they all dead?
Your video of the Lancaster 2am siren activation malfunction has great siren ambience. It was different to hear an ATTACK mode since Lancaster normally sounds their sirens in ALERT. History was made during those early morning hours, and you captured it on video, and that is awesome.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 thanks man that ambience is very distinct. It indeed made history because that was the last time that system sounded!
@@wadessirenvideos6750 thanks man that ambience is very distinct. It indeed made history because that was the last time that system sounded!
That's so cool I want to check it out
But what is this
Nice video
is this the one that replaced the flaming thunderbolt?
Yes, but now there is another electronic siren with multiple speaker drivers made by Federal Signal that replaced the ATI siren in this video. It has better and possibly louder sound output than the ATI siren, though I don't know what model it is. RUclips has a few videos of it when it was newly installed. I used to work at General Cinema Prestonwood theater in the Village on the Parkway shopping center back in 1996. The theater is long gone, but I remember when the Thunderbolt got its monthly test. I once went up on the rooftop to watch the Thunderbolt rotate and hear it roar. I still miss it to this day. I went to the shopping center with my camcorder to film the siren test, but to my disappointment, the Thunderbolt was gone, and this siren was in its place. This video was made a few years after this new siren was installed. I think it's crazy to invest in a wimpy, low volume siren that sounds like it was made as a science fair project with ice cream truck speakers, and then donated to the city for outdoor warning notification. Hope you did not mind the Cocoa Puffs commercial short clip I put in there by the way. Allen, Texas currently uses these ATI SYSTEMS sirens, but they have 2 "4 speaker" sets for best sound volume output. Thank you for your question, it's a pleasure to answer it.
12 port
I would like to see the 8 port version of the 2001-130 siren which I believe is the Equinox. It has a lower pitch like the 508 siren, a Sentry 3V8, or a T-128 by A.S.C.
I got cocoapuffed :(

Hey do you have Frisco video that you filmed many years ago?
I had a siren video of Frisco, but unfortunately the video was stored in the camera's internal memory. A few weeks after I filmed a Frisco siren, the camera and internal memory FAILED and stopped working. I lost EVERYTHING, including a video of another siren that later got replaced with a new 2001-130. From that day forward, I have cameras that record onto removable media like an SD-HC card. Never lost another video since. Very painful lesson.

@@wadessirenvideos6750 Any recording of Plano’s 4008s is always welcomed
Nice editing!
Sounds more like Allen ATI Hpss32
@@adamssirenadventures6574 Yes, I agree. I was surprised when I filmed this Modulator when the WESTMINISTER CHIME started the testing process. The first thing I thought of was the ATI SYSTEMS sirens. This video was filmed a few months after I went to the Addison ATI siren. Also surprised at how this 7 pod Modulator was so low in volume, probably not more than 110 decibels at 100 feet away. Possibly some of the speaker drivers or amplifiers were not working. This sound would only cover 1700 feet, up to a 2000 foot radius from the sirens location. Maybe it's not supposed to be really loud, like a T-128 is. One drawback is the need to place the siren locations substantially closer together for maximum coverage. This Modulator is definitely not a P-50 from a sound output standpoint.
@@wadessirenvideos6750 It sounded like an ATI because for all intents and purposes it WAS an ATI. Some ass clown somewhere in the emergency management agency decided that purchasing ATI control equipment for their Federal Signal equipment was a great idea.
