  • I am sad to learn of Lancaster replacing their STH-10 and RM-127 sirens. I have not kept up with the status of the Lancaster outdoor warning siren system, but a comment on my other Lancaster siren video shocked me about the new T-128 sirens they have. All we can do now is appreciate the many years Lancaster kept their old but good vintage siren system going. I intended to go back and make another video of a RM-127 siren they had, but I never did. I am not too terribly happy with this siren video as it has some wind noise and airplane noise during the shut down of the siren test, but I want to contribute to the memories of the Lancaster old siren system. This video was made on May 2, 2012 exactly 29 days after the April 3, 2012 TORNADO OUTBREAK, during which this very siren got activated and really got put to work, doing its only job, to warn people of a tornado that was within a few miles away. I was in Northeast Dallas that day, filming a siren going off, and have posted that video on my channel if you would like to see it. There are no tornadoes in that video, but there is siren ambience, lightning, and rain.

@@wadessirenvideos6750 Also have you ever film any sirens around in the early or late 2000's?

@@adamssirenadventures6574 The videos I have are from 2011 or after. The fact that I fondly remember Thunderbolt sirens from my childhood days in Dallas, and that Dallas, almost overnight, retired their Thunderbolt siren system in favor of the current system is a very big reason why I am interested in older outdoor warning sirens. Richardson also replaced their Thunderbolts and a few 2T22 sirens with T-128 sirens at around the same time as Dallas upgraded. They did keep one older refurbished 2001-130 and added it to their then new system. As of January 2022, Richardson has another new system of Federal Signal 2001-130 sirens, a big surprise to me. I will post these older videos I made as I find them.

Do they still use this siren today?

This RM-127 siren and all the others just like it, along with the STH-10 sirens in the Lancaster siren system, are now retired. The new sirens are rotating sirens like the one in this video, but look and sound very different. Thank you for viewing this video.

@@wadessirenvideos6750 thanks for the information, when does Lancaster test their sirens? I might go there for a test soon, I really want to see some 8 port sirens go off.

@@owensanders7432 I would call the non emergency Lancaster Fire Department and ask for the personnel who tests the sirens, and ask those folks for the latest test schedule. They test at around 2pm, weather permitting. Back in 2012, the fire department would actually go to various siren locations and report back if they worked or not. They would then go to another group of sirens, sound them off, and report back. I happened to get 2 siren videos in the same day because of this. They have, I think, NEW T-128 sirens that rotate and have 8 ports on the front. My Cedar Hill siren video has a T-128 if you are curious about it. Let me know if you go to Lancaster for a siren test.
