  • This is a video of a 2001-130 siren by Federal Signal located in Mesquite, Texas. I filmed it on June 6th, 2012. This version of this video is longer, and has the entire test, and the entire distant siren ambience before activation. A viewer liked the other sirens in the distance, and left a comment saying so. I'm glad to know this. Now that I found the entire video files, I decided to upload them. In the middle of the test, the siren winds down, and almost a second later winds back up and sounds at a slightly lower pitch. This is my first time to see this. I added a growl test at the end, and this video was filmed at the same location within a few months of the test video. The first original video is still up for you to see. If you want to use this video in your production in whole or in part, please leave a comment and ask me first. Don't just use it and not give proper credit, and claim it as yours. That's not fair to me, and is not proper.

Hi Wade, I was wondering if you remember where this unit is located in Mesquite?

This siren is located on the 3200 block of Independence Drive near Town East Blvd behind Harbor Freight Tools. Easy to find. If you post a new video of it, let me know, I would be glad to see it.

The second time it would up I think it was running on batteries only instead of direct power. nice video

That's interesting. I did not think that battery power was a possibility until just now. When I filmed it, I thought it was strange to have a wind down and a wind-up happen within one second, like in this siren test session. I was hoping it would be a FAST WAIL for the rest of the activation. This still has been worth filming. Thank you for your comment.

@@wadessirenvideos6750 the activation software they use has a feature that allows them to switch the siren to battery power.im guessing they were probably testing the batteries to make sure they were still holding a charge

@@OWS_Crazy1 Sure, I will be glad to be there. Is there a way I can contact you other than by leaving a comment? A phone number or email address alright? Also give me an address of this siren location. I am not familiar with where to meet. Is it the Taco Bell P-50? Never have been there. After the test, I would like to meet everyone in person.

@@wadessirenvideos6750 do you know what town the Whelen’s were in, I can’t think of any other places that used that signal for testing at one point aside from McKinney or Lavon, but they’re too far down the roar for it to be that clear.
