Flathead on a homemade wooden lure

Last year during the lockdowns I decided to have a go at making some of my own fishing lures. This fishing session I managed to test some out on the broadwater with some great success. Pretty satisfying catching fish on your own lures! Enjoy the video!
Gold coast broadwater fishing
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.Год назад
It has been a mighty long time since my last upload as things in the past twelve months have been very interesting! After all the flooding rains the Gold coast should have some pretty good fishing for the next year or two so I headed out to the Broadwater with my mate Raegan for a fish. Really hot bite for less then six hours fishing and managed a few fish on one of my homemade wooden lures! En...

Heard a lot of reports suggesting that Tarpon are hanging around the seaway and into the Broadwater; well they were right. Went out for a quick flick with Luke on his boat for the first time in ages and we managed a couple nice fish considering how busy it was. Enjoy the episode! Gear used Rod : Daiwa infeet 2-10lb Reel : Daiwa luvias 2500d Line : 10lb leader, 10lb braid Lures : Zman slim swim ...
Gold coast fishing snapper bag-out at the Pin

Its been a long while since my last upload (been busy) so this ones a good one. Went out the day before new years and it was chockers. Caught nothing all morning until we went back to try the snapper spot and just bagged out on pan sized snapper. Pure chaos and heaps of fun. Days like this just make you realize you have literally no idea what the fish will being doing. Enjoy the video! Gear use...

Started making some lures and was gunning for a Giant trevally on a walk the dog style lure and managed to get it done. Pretty chuffed about it. Got back from being out in the desert for three weeks so hopefully can get out and make some good videos. Enjoy the video, like, comment, subscribe. Zman Slim swim Vs Daiwa Bait junkie minnow
Просмотров 4 тыс.3 года назад
New Daiwa Bait Junkie slim swim look a likes are out now so we decided to put the old faithful Zman slim swims up against it in a quick arvo session. Both lures caught the same amount of fish, however the Zman caught the biggest for the session. Zman is still a lot tougher then anything you can throw with the Bait junkies not holding up too good. Gear used Rod : Daiwa Infeet 2-10lb Reel : Daiwa...
Monduran barra fishing: My first impoundment barra
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.3 года назад
Spent the weekend up at Monduran dam chasing impoundment barra for the first time, was a really hard bite but we did manage a couple legal fish over the weekend. I land my first impoundment barra on the last morning of fishing which was a nice little achievement. Definitely would like to go back up for the challenge and hopefully land a swamp donkey some time. Enjoy the vid! Gear used Rod : Sam...
Gold Coast Fishing Jumpinpin for Snapper and deep dropping with pike.

Found a decent amount of snapper early in the morning which was a good surprise and a bit of fun on light tackle. The true goal of the day was to get a Jewy but we only managed a decent cod in the end.
Jumpinpin mini comp - Tail trimmers vs Pimp patrol

"youre cutting into my fishing time now" ahahaha
What weight jigs do you think is good to throw from the rocks? I have been there once but I really want to revisit that area and catch some solid fish
Man i tried fishing in any river \ creek /lake I saw while I was recently up there ..but no go ! Didn’t even see a fish. But got tons of Tailor on surf coast beach fishing.
Pretty similar in durability and action but bait junkie way easier to put on a jig head straight haha
Nicely done man
I got lucky in the creek yesterday but a bit further down and got a 40cm bass
i think the slim swims are a bit slimmer than the baitjunkie but baitjunkie has a better action and better range of colours
nice one bro
I caught a 49 cm tarpon and it was jumping and fighting like crazy it's on my youtube
hey mate random wuestion whats the name of that akubra??
Nice fish
Cheers mate was stoked
Congratulations on a great result. If you’re not still grinning from ear to ear in another month’s time there’s something wrong.
Yeah for sure I won't soon forget that rush when it hit the lure. Now to upgrade the pb!
Awesome catch mate!
Thanks mate
What model is your Infeet?
Great vid, Do you have a f/b page??? Cheers Adrian
Good to see your making vids again
Thanks mate feels good to get a video out!

Cheers mate
Where about it this? Mudgeeraba ?
In the creek near the school
@@mattybkrun1213 any chance this is the creek next to 12 berrigans rd? Still had no luck in Mudgee so I need a specific area so I can catch something for once 😂
@@mattybkrun1213 still no luck, would appreciate a specific location so i can fish my first bass bro
Nice video, what lure are you using mate? I've always using Zman lure and it's great
Thanks for the comment, mostly using the Zman slim swims in motoroil and bad shad but it's more the profile over the colour I think. You catch them on all colours consistently
Nice day out guys!! Great vid.
Cheers!
We go there quit alot, water just boils with Taylor chasing Baitfish, the baitfish even jump in the boat. Probablly some of the best fishing I've ever done. Going there tomorrow🤞🏻so keen
Definetly recommend it, if your In the Brisbane area and have a boat!
Yeah it's definitely a great little area to fish if you can make the effort to get out there and experience it! Tailor bust ups are always fun on light gear and also just fun to watch!
Love the vids man
Thanks mate!
Yewwwww
Where do you get your pike from
Just from the weed beds closest the the mouth usually. Clearer the water the better.
Yeah I did realise after I sent that you were on Crusoe island
Awesome man it sounds like your reel needs a service haha from all the flattie action
Thanks man! Yeah the bail roller bearing is the first thing to go with shimano reels!
Hey mate how far fown were you letting it sit and were you just slow rolling
Try and get it near the bottom and work it back

Epic! What time of year was this in?
What’s the rod your are using mate??
The rod is a daiwa infeet 2-10lb 610
Wow mate that is awesome, well done! I have always known snapper are in the broadwater and around the southern bay islands. That's epic though that you can have a session like that at the pin where they are so schooled up! Awesome to watch, keep up the great vids! If you don't mind me asking, what depth are you fishing in? All good if you don't want to share that info though, I understand. Cheer mate well done
Thanks mate! Just look for that muddy bottom with shells like other Matt mentioned. You can get them really shallow if your in the right spot. Half the fun is in finding them! Goodluck!
@@matthewmorshead2594 G'day Matt, yes I definitely understand keeping it quiet, I'd do the same thing! 😁 Thanks for sharing a little bit of info though, it's awesome that such big ones come into the estuaries! Tight lines mate
@@mattybkrun1213 G'day mate, thanks heaps for the reply and tips! I'll give it a go this winter as I've always wanted to give the inshore snapper a crack. I really appreciate it, tight lines and keep up the great vids! 😁👍🎣
@@willkitching bottom of Wallys, south of Gold bank. Tough going with the JetSkis, but decent Flattie spot as well if quiet 💪🏽
@@markhill566 Thanks mate, I'll give it a look one time!
great work .... are you on reef
Thanks! It's like that muddy gravelly shelly bottom
Awesome guys. Well done. Beats bait fishing every time.
Certainly adds a challenge!
a quick question, do u need ball sinker for river fishing?
Depends what kind of fishing you are doing
Love the vid!! What set up you running ?
The light setup was 10lb line on a 2500 Stradic ci4 with a 2-10lb rod. The heavier one was a 4000 stradic with 20lb line with a 8-14lb rod
Awesome video mate how were You working the plastics
Just get them on the bottom and teabag
@@mattybkrun1213 that is the best explanation on how to work a lure. Just teabag XD
Nice fish i got a 65 and a 75 cm big eyes on liveys with 8lb braid and 16lb leader
They'd give you some curry on the light gear nice work!
