I like the 16's because they fill the arch without the car being extremely low though🤣

Lowering springs would definitely be easier and more straightforward. 3cm isn’t a very big drop, though.

@danielpicazo5722 The springs I used are for a Nissan Almera N16, a heavier car, so I assume cutting a few coils shouldn't be too bad as the springs are stiffer than the stock ones. Haven't had any issues so far.

I used 1.5 inch pipes for the manifold and 2.5 for the rest of the exhaust. I definitely wouldn't use 2.5 if i were to do it again as it's simply too big for a 1.0l engine. Maybe 2 inch or 2.25 at most would be better.

@@the_mintiest_micra It turns out that you used 63 pipes in Russia, changes are made in millimeters! I plan to make a 60mm exhaust on a Japanese kakimoto can for 1.4mt! You have a beautiful bumper. I want to set one for myself too!

As long as there isn't a big imbalance in the shocks and the car isn’t super super low I don’t think it should fail on them necessary.🤷‍♂️

The driver side one still has some fibreglass filler that I haven't sanded and painted properly yet, so it isn't rust, I hope that's the one you noticed.🤣

I'll be taking care of the turbo charge pipes in the next episode of the turbo series, also fuel system upgrades, brakes, boost and oil pressure gauges and some other small bits soon.

@ALEXDe83-l9v Thank you! The intake set up is temporary as I'll be setting up piping for the turbo soon. I don’t know if it makes much difference with the open inlet but I'd put a breather filter on the cam cover for sure if you take it off.👍

@@the_mintiest_micra Your height is determined by adjusting the spring. Can’t shorten or lengthen the damper like other coilovers. Its fine what you did, as long as theres preload on the spring. If you wanted to raise the car, your spring might rattle. Thats where the helper spring comes in.

I've ended up swapping out the Corsa rear springs for something else. You'll see in the next video, the car is a bit more drivable now🤣👍

Long story short, it's one of the first tools I bought when I wanted to try working on cars myself. 8mm spanner used to bleed the brakes on a 2003 Dacia 1310🤣

Agree, needs 13's, 14's at the max.

I know they're massive but they fill the arch very well without having the car absolutely slammed and it's fairly driveable. (Let's not talk about the fact that at full lock steering the tyres rub on the chassis) I'll look into it.🤣😬

The O2 sensor location was only temporary, I've made the full exhaust and installed it in the downpipe, further from the turbo.👍

I'm not 100% sure, I think the distributor engines have an igniter, but I don't know about the coilpack models, might be built into the ecu hance the need for an external igniter when going standalone with the Speeduino. I do know however that it was necessary.

@@the_mintiest_micra do you know the signal voltage to the three pin coils? I have some beefy transistors laying around and was thinking if i can make my own igiter.

@ouew3872 I'm no expert so I'm not too sure, but if you're asking about what voltage signal is going to the igniter from the ecu it's 12v. Im not sure what that gets amplified into by the time it actually gets to the coilpack for there to be a spark.

Because back then I wasn't any good at welding and had no idea what I was doing. The panhard rod needs revisiting asap before this gets on the road🤣

It's just what the manual said, probably something to do with the head seating properly on the block before fully tightening the bolts.

In some cases yes, especially if the metal was still a bit rusty. If I were to do it again I'd definitely try to use a better welder.

@@the_mintiest_micra I have a flux core welder and finding it difficult on think stuff. I tried putting another piece behind to reduce blow thru. It seemed to work ok

Top tip would definitely be get proper Roof bars, a lot of the work I did was fairly stupid looking back on it. And if you dont have a welder or certain tools, it might actually be better buying a cheap pre made on, in my opinion.

There's a 5 pin side and a 4 pin side. The inputs go on the 5 pin side in order of the engine firing order (pin 1 is cylinder 1, 2 is cylinder 3, pin 3 goes to ground, pin 4 is cylinder 4 and pin 5 is cylinder 2 for me). The pins on the 4 pin side go to the signla wires of the coil packs (same as input side but no ground pin). Also part number for the igniter I used is 4D0905351, can be found in late 90s early 00s VWAG four cylinder petrol cars. Be very careful wiring the ignition and research the firing order of the engine and in what order your ecu sends out the ignition signals. Good luck.👍

That's cool, will you be using all 8 spark plugs? I think all two pin coils need an igniter to work with a Speeduino, usually 3pin coils don't but the Micra is an exception as they're still "dumb coils". I would assume the igniter will work with your coils but definitely double check, read the Speeduino manual and see if you can find any info and specs on the hardware your engine has.

It's not too hard of a job to get it set up, would love to see a build like that up and running. Good luck!👍
