Making DIY Polyurethane Engine Mount Bushings for my K11 Micra
Making DIY Polyurethane Engine Mount Bushings for my Turbocharged K11 Nissan Micra.
I used 3D printed molds which I designed to pour A70 polyurethane into and replicate the shape and size of the OEM bushings.
Overall, the poly bushings are a good improvement from the stock ones, reducing movement of the engine in the engine bay while also keeping the cabin vibrations to an acceptable level.

Fueling System Upgrades and Data Gauges - Turbo Micra Ep.7
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.3 месяца назад
In this video, I address one of the big reasons why the engine was cutting out under boost. I upgraded the fueling system by swapping out the stock 149cc/min injectors for a set of 216cc/min ones from a K12 (CR14DE) 1.4l Micra along with fitting a Walbro 255 fuel pump. Later, we install two new gauges, one for boost pressure and one for oul pressure, set up the sensors to get the data from the ...

Title is kinda clickbait, sorry. In the last video, I installed Corsa B coilovers onto the Micra and because I'm running 16' wheels, the car was now undrivable. The solution was fitting cut N16 Almera rear springs to slightly raise the rear where the tyres were rubbing on the arch. This video is a mess. I'm sorry. I see a lot a rubbish videos by clueless people, who have not thought through the process and include way too much waffle, as below ;-) , and now I see a young guy just doing it, simply and directly, every instruction necessary and useful. I have serviced and fixed all our family cars (except the compay cars) since my first new Mini van in 1963 (big bikes before that), and this is just so useful to save time and struggle. Just what you need to know. Thanks again, young man. You are a gifted trainer. I never knew handle spring clips worked that way before, I always took the clip off, far harder. Do they all work like this? 60 years of wasted time on door handles? I am confidently off out into the freezing 2025 January to fix youngest daughters rear quarter K12 window. nb: I had to smash it because the security system locked her 3 year old into the car, already belted up, with the keys inside on the font seat, for no obvious reason , when she was loading up and closed the doors by hand to keep the kid warm. Seems this is a neat "feature" of the Micra. And then we had to get the keys off the front seat using a litter picker, luckily to hand, kid screaming, because we could not open the rear door, and daughter was somewhat upset, with number 2 on the way! The life and times of grand dad, age 82 1/4. Off to the street, with SH window replacement (£35) and tools at the ready... and a brilliant temporary window made with a thick plastic bag and sticky tape to remove! PS Before I smashed the window a I quickly taped it over with parcel tape to stop the glass going everywhere, which was mostly successful. It took a serious hammer blow to break, BTW. Messing about didn't work. PPS I fitted new disks and pads, have done many before, but these are vibrating the car when applied, so probably out of alignment. Not enough for MOT fail. Is this a Micra problem - how to be sure they are aligned? I had already changed them once on this car w/o a problem, cleaned the disk/hub mating surface , etc. Pad wear is very uneven at the front.... perhaps because there is no inner disk shield?

Bought an A70 stiffness 1kg kit from MB Fibreglass in the UK and used around 600ml, wasting a lot by not calculating the volume correctly. Still have one bushing that I think I'll do. You could get a stiffer mixture if not daily driving, maybe.

Got mine from DIY EFI in UK, but different suppliers might be more convenient for you. Had some issues with supplying power to injectors, pwm idle valve and getting the idle valve to work but they might have been just down to my stock wiring loom not working perfect with the ECU and my own mistakes setting things up. If you're up for it, I'd say making your own loom with only what's necessary might be a nice idea.

You need to put Teflon tape on those fittings or they will just keep leaking, talking from experience. I also highly recommend an oil pressure sensor relocation hose, basically just a braided oil line for this exact purpose, it allows you to mount the sensor away from the engine which will reduce the vibrations that it experiences and will make it last longer as they are prone to failing due to pressure fluctuations and vibration when they are mounted straight on the engine.
