- In this episode, I go through the process of making my (not very professional) DIY stainless steel exhaust for the turbo Micra.
By no means did it end up perfect, but fabricating it was good practice in case there will be a next time, and knowing myself, there most likey will be.

Those welds are *nice*
Well done man! Just wanted to give you an advice: do some kind of hanger/bracket to support the weight of the turbo, or once you start to use it it will ruin a lot of gaskets and it will be a pain in the ass
Keep up the good work!
Good point. I'll take it into a count and sort something out for it. Thanks👍
I've been watching since you got the car and I was about 13-14 at the time and you have inspired me to get a car and now I own a Audi a8 d2 and I love working on it I really appreciate you for inspiring me to get into cars
Haha, I'm very happy to hear that, I haven't seen many A8s of that generation, really rare here in Ireland. That's really cool, good luck with it.👍
Great video and some confident welding. Something to keep in mind when tig welding like this is the power of that ARC and its effect on exposed skin. I would highly recommend a set of tig gloves unless your a sucker for that juicy radiation 😅.
And aslo stainless steel when welded will produce some nasty toxic gasses, so just be aware of that too. A decent respirator is always a good shout.
Great videos man. 🇮🇪
Cheers for the advice man, I'll be more precautions in the future. 👍
Great progress, looking forward to the next one!
Love to see the progress
Love the build
Well done man savage stuff. The work going into this video is brilliant
awesome! been waiting for this video for a while
awesome!
even though you don’t have the same car as i want, i can learn alot from you, for the twingo
Happy to hear, mate. What year twingo? Personally, I'm a fan of the mk1😁
me too, mk1 is the best, looks very good with bbs wheels@@the_mintiest_micra
Yoo man your doing soo amazing i wish i had all the tools to start doing my own fabric I really have a urge for having my own welding machine grinder and cuter i hopefully will be having it ASAP im 17 now
Thanks mate, wish you all the best with that, good luck👍
Wow, well done, man! Love your videos and your project!
Thanks mate, appreciate the support👍
Love it 😀
Great content
When does a new video come Andrei? i'm exited to see what will happen
Happy to hear that. Next video on turboing the Micra will be about routing the intake piping and fitting an intercooler, but haven't really started on that at all yet. I am currently editing a video on flipping the Toyota Yaris, you might've seen it on TikTok if you follow me there👍
Ce turbo
Vad ca merge
Bro is cooking
I hadn't realised youd started on RUclips too
Been here a while now, only recently trying to post more often.👍
Savage stuff lad, what tig welder do you use?
Nothing special, it's a YesWelder TIG-205D, the cheapest one I found that also looked genuine, does the job 🤣
@@the_mintiest_micraunreal, where do you get your gas for it? Im looking to get into it myself
quick idea, why not use the design of the exhaust flange and make a gasket out of some laser cut 0,3mm stainless steel?
I was thinking about that. I wasn't sure if it would seal as good as the gasket material type, though, but I might actually look into that now, cheers.👍
@@the_mintiest_micra get some proper turbo gasket material, graphite impregnated steel gasket. Pretty hard to cut but holds up to the heat properly.
@@the_mintiest_micra Worth a shot, you want know until you'll try!
What tig welder did you get ?
It's a YesWelder TIG-205D, nothing special, got it as it was fairly cheap for a TIG.
Shame that turbo is on a 1 litre but good job on the exhaust
Well no one is saying it needs to stay on a 1.0l. Them and the 1.4l share the same head. For now I'll enjoy the 1.0l road tax with more power than a stock 1.4l🤣
@@the_mintiest_micra just keep the log book on the 1.0 if it's the same engine but bigger no body will know till they check the engine numbers
Any more updates?
I've been waiting for parts for the last while, next up for the turbo set up will be intercooler and intake piping but I've got some other videos that will come first, had to weld a new sill, trying to make a spoiler for it and will try some new springs.
@@the_mintiest_micra excellent! Loving builds like this. These top youtubers with lambos etc are just not relatable.
good content. but bro pls get rid of that monobrow....
Thanks but it just grows back though🤣
