  • In this video, I go through the process of building a V0.3.7 Speeduino Standalone ECU and installing it into the car along with the Wideband AFR Gauge and External Igniter needed to run the coil packs. I also load a base tune onto the ECU using Tunerstudio.
    Huge thank you to MegaMicra for creating and sharing the 1.4l base tune that I used in this video.

    I've had my speeduino and 1.3 march with a TD04, intercooler, custom fuel rail with pink subaru injectors etc ready to go for a year now and I think this is the motivation I needed to actually wire it in.

    Awesome! I was researching Speeduino cause I'm broke and standalone ECUs would cost me my kidney, and came across your channel! Looking forward to ep.3, best of luck, hopefully everything is going according to plan!

      Thanks, mate. I highly suggest you check out some speeduino tutorials if you're thinking of doing something like this. They helped me out a lot. I probably don't explain it very well in this video.😆

      Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the earlier distributor engines, I know some of the hardware is different and same with the ECU wiring. There's some info on the forums though. Good luck 👍

    This is a really interesting project I watched all 5 episodes in a row, but I was wondering how did you make the original speedo and rpm-meter work with speeduino?

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the support mate, I can't take credit for getting the tacho working as I just copied what MegaMicra (here on YT) did in his step by step series on his K11 Micra. It really depends on the type of tachometer your car has. For example, I had to add a 1k resistor from a pin related to the crank sensor, I think, on the ECU to the tacho signal wire in the cars wiring loom.

      @@the_mintiest_micra wow I love how analogic is this mod, unlike some software adjustment or an additional board with fancy PID technology. So well every case is different, I'll learn something by checking MegaMicra but I'm sure it's gonna be a trial-and-error work, i have a lancia Y first generation btw.

    Do you have a wiring diagram? I've got a 1.4 but I hope it's not too different from the 1.0 coilpack engine. I was looking at the MegaMicra videos but the wiring is a bit confusing

      @riktanius Yes, its in the bottom left of the board, higher than the rest of the components.

    Hello my friend i have a big question i want to do the same ecu setup as you i do have a 1.4 and im desperate to figure it out what step did you go through to buy this

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  3 месяца назад

      There's a few websites that will sell kits or pre assembled ecus like this. Depends where you live, I got mine from the UK, from DIYEFI. Otherwise you can look up the bill of materials for the ecu you want and order all the components yourself. Check out MegaMicra here on RUclips as he has a series of settings up a V4 speeduino ECU to a 1.4l K11 Micra.

      Ye mate, latest version of my tune should be in this shared folder. Will more than likely need adjustments, nowhere near perfect yet, and it might work differently on other cars with less/more/other mods.

      There's some places that sell kits depending where you're based. Otherwise, you can buy all the parts yourself, look up Sppeduino ecu kits, and see what version suits you.

    Doesnt the micra already have a ingition module somewhere?

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  Месяц назад

      I'm not 100% sure, I think the distributor engines have an igniter, but I don't know about the coilpack models, might be built into the ecu hance the need for an external igniter when going standalone with the Speeduino. I do know however that it was necessary.

    • @ouew3872
      @ouew3872 Месяц назад +1

      @@the_mintiest_micra do you know the signal voltage to the three pin coils? I have some beefy transistors laying around and was thinking if i can make my own igiter.

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  Месяц назад

      @ouew3872 I'm no expert so I'm not too sure, but if you're asking about what voltage signal is going to the igniter from the ecu it's 12v. Im not sure what that gets amplified into by the time it actually gets to the coilpack for there to be a spark.

    How do you know how to connect the ignition audi module to each cable?

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  2 месяца назад

      There's a 5 pin side and a 4 pin side.
      The inputs go on the 5 pin side in order of the engine firing order (pin 1 is cylinder 1, 2 is cylinder 3, pin 3 goes to ground, pin 4 is cylinder 4 and pin 5 is cylinder 2 for me).
      The pins on the 4 pin side go to the signla wires of the coil packs (same as input side but no ground pin).
      Also part number for the igniter I used is 4D0905351, can be found in late 90s early 00s VWAG four cylinder petrol cars.
      Be very careful wiring the ignition and research the firing order of the engine and in what order your ecu sends out the ignition signals. Good luck.👍

      Im puting de speeduino on a Alfa Romeo 145 1.6 Twin Spark
      It has two pins coil, this WAG igniter Will fit?

    • @the_mintiest_micra
      @the_mintiest_micra  2 месяца назад

      That's cool, will you be using all 8 spark plugs? I think all two pin coils need an igniter to work with a Speeduino, usually 3pin coils don't but the Micra is an exception as they're still "dumb coils". I would assume the igniter will work with your coils but definitely double check, read the Speeduino manual and see if you can find any info and specs on the hardware your engine has.

      I got mine from DIY EFI in the UK but depends on where you're from, they sell a kit but you can also buy all the materials separately yourself.
