Great overview! The biggest thing is reality gem was that if you rolled a skull later you could count it as a crit, it didn't explode but ot was still a success. The Thor 2 nerfs were a bit harsh I think. I wish peerless also said the model with this has to be the leader when fielded if it has a leadership. I am excited to see what the new character cards bring

I like King Black Bolt a lot. He’s not as consistent at bursting down single targets as 6 threats that have throws but he moves around a lot- especially with Medusa’s leadership- and controls secures, sets up his allies, while still being a real threat. All rounder like you said

When do you check for the Maximus failure place? Can you get around it if you have a way to reroll the skull?

Strongly consider switching to a binder that does not have the rings in them. Fortunately these have been safe so far, but I've seen many valuable cards get binder ring dings and dents on the MtG side

So you convinced me that the leadership is good and I want to try it out! Maximus has a lot of good stuff going on but he is still so weak to throws it makes me nervous.

My biggest problem is that you MUST use his leadership reroll on the first attack or defence. The Skull is 1 in 8 so that is not that big of a deal. You could waste on some useless defence or maybe on some bad attacks.😊

I like the model and I do like how they did the confidence tokens. I think he won't be able to control as well as hulk and won't do as much damage as Thor unless your opponent lets you. He will be good but not broken imo.

It could probably be abused but Nova should definitely have a Hellfire Club/Thralls leadership card. He can deputize the team into the Nova Corps with the world mind!

I am excited for Nova, Gladiator, and the new crisis cards! I am going to jam Gladiator into pretty every list as he was one of my favorite characters as a kid. I play spider foes pretty much exclusively, but I have been playing some Apocalypse and Inhumans to change things up.

I’m really excited for this game. The only thing that irks me is the textured bases. Unlike you, I love painting armies and I have completed more than 100 units in the miniatures game. It is important to me that all the bases from each army look exactly the same.

To your question about hype and the pace of information, I have mixed feelings. One of my favorite video games is (was?) Heroes of the Storm, which did an A++ job of building hype. They had monthly characters, with in-depth teases over the course of a weekend that engaged the player base and rewarded them for investing in Blizzard's IP and lore. I loved it. Having two info dumps a year for MCP feels about as far on the other end of the hype spectrum as possible. On the other hand, I *love* playing MCP and I *love* the characters that get released. The fact that we regularly get releases of fun and interesting characters is great, so I get hyped every couple months when releases happen anyway. Overall, I am happy with the game, and while the marketing angle lacks the fun that other games have, it does not detract from my enjoyment of the game.

Might have to do something similar with my Apocalypse whenever I get around to painting him up.

I do think MCP maybe getting a lot less attention due to AMG's new baby Shatterpoint. Saying that Shatterpoint previews aren't without errors. I can remember the Squad Pack "Good Soliders Follow Orders". You missed the best painting stream error going. Dallas spent an entire stream painting the Ewok Chief Chirpa, singing little songs etc as he does. There was just one problem, he was painting the Ewok Logray miniature, which he did paint in Chirpa's colour, give him that. I pointed this out in the comments when the vid got uploaded to RUclips saying "you do know that's Logray, right?" and I think they removed it. I'm still a fan of MCP, but the community in my area is dwindling, there's really only one guy I play semi regular.

I think that this is a bit of "different strokes for different folk". Some people dont like the drip feed of news, and find it annoying that it is all piecemeal I agree that its not a good approach for content creators, and I also think that they are straining under the weight of running 3 games at once. Every young company goes through growing pains as they grow, and this seems like that this was accelerated by adding legion to their list of responsibilities

I wonder if any of these concerns are related to the Embracer Group's purchase of AMG's parent company Asmodee a couple years ago? Of course, I think they're a relatively small team so mistakes are bound to happen, but I hope that their corporate overlords aren't putting pressure on them and causing more problems.

I didn't even see that, great catch! If I'm not mistaken it's been over a year since the last big character update and even longer since something like a physical card pack was produced. AMG has been busy with the Star Wars Legion updates and the next big announcement during Adepticon will likely still be Legion focused, I wouldn't mind seeing some refreshes to MCP characters at the same time to breathe some new life into the game.

There will almost certainly be new character cards. Updates seem to occur roughly every 2 years. So, I would expect some sort of update by summer, give or take 4 months or so.

I know this video is older, but I am just starting to learn this game and I feel like I disagree with your thoughts on Ghost Rider. Sure his card is really good but if you take it you're one card down is a valid set back, but I dont think its fair to say that means you can just ignore him. If you focus other characters hes gaining power and punishing you for those good rolls you get, hands out hexs, incinerate, and drains peoples power. Sure you KO a character (thats what i take Wong for). I'm not saying hes S or A. But if you think hes a C character it doesn't seem like hes being used correctly

As a Midnight Sons enjoyer I hope there are card updates coming down the pipeline but also there’s new art there for Chosen of Bast (who just came out) AND Werewolf by Midnight who is not even out yet. Haven’t been playing long enough to see new cards or anything but would they make changes this close to character releases?

This kind of mess deters me from getting too deep in this game. The cards are meant to be on the table top with you as you game for quick reference, but how can I do that with AM constantly changing the cards? Pay the $100+ to the Etsy seller for the updated cards or constantly having to check my phone for the apps with the information? I bought a Thanos kit and all the freaking gems are outdated! That’s ridiculous!! Is AM going to produce an updated card pack or do we have to live in constant app checking for “living” updates?

Yeah I think a character update is needed for many characters. Even some that were updated last time

I think they are repackaging to the new style so that would be the time to do it

Hopefully it's a character update, but it could still just be updated art for repackaged Midnight Sons and Convocation boxes. Good eye either way.
