I’m really excited for this game. The only thing that irks me is the textured bases. Unlike you, I love painting armies and I have completed more than 100 units in the miniatures game. It is important to me that all the bases from each army look exactly the same.

To your question about hype and the pace of information, I have mixed feelings. One of my favorite video games is (was?) Heroes of the Storm, which did an A++ job of building hype. They had monthly characters, with in-depth teases over the course of a weekend that engaged the player base and rewarded them for investing in Blizzard's IP and lore. I loved it. Having two info dumps a year for MCP feels about as far on the other end of the hype spectrum as possible. On the other hand, I *love* playing MCP and I *love* the characters that get released. The fact that we regularly get releases of fun and interesting characters is great, so I get hyped every couple months when releases happen anyway. Overall, I am happy with the game, and while the marketing angle lacks the fun that other games have, it does not detract from my enjoyment of the game.

Might have to do something similar with my Apocalypse whenever I get around to painting him up.

I do think MCP maybe getting a lot less attention due to AMG's new baby Shatterpoint. Saying that Shatterpoint previews aren't without errors. I can remember the Squad Pack "Good Soliders Follow Orders". You missed the best painting stream error going. Dallas spent an entire stream painting the Ewok Chief Chirpa, singing little songs etc as he does. There was just one problem, he was painting the Ewok Logray miniature, which he did paint in Chirpa's colour, give him that. I pointed this out in the comments when the vid got uploaded to RUclips saying "you do know that's Logray, right?" and I think they removed it. I'm still a fan of MCP, but the community in my area is dwindling, there's really only one guy I play semi regular.

We agree. We reached out to AMG with a bunch of emails and they never even responded to us one time. Were trying our best to make MCP content but were talking about a change up. Best of luck. We love your videos.

I think that this is a bit of "different strokes for different folk". Some people dont like the drip feed of news, and find it annoying that it is all piecemeal I agree that its not a good approach for content creators, and I also think that they are straining under the weight of running 3 games at once. Every young company goes through growing pains as they grow, and this seems like that this was accelerated by adding legion to their list of responsibilities

I wonder if any of these concerns are related to the Embracer Group's purchase of AMG's parent company Asmodee a couple years ago? Of course, I think they're a relatively small team so mistakes are bound to happen, but I hope that their corporate overlords aren't putting pressure on them and causing more problems.

I didn't even see that, great catch! If I'm not mistaken it's been over a year since the last big character update and even longer since something like a physical card pack was produced. AMG has been busy with the Star Wars Legion updates and the next big announcement during Adepticon will likely still be Legion focused, I wouldn't mind seeing some refreshes to MCP characters at the same time to breathe some new life into the game.

There will almost certainly be new character cards. Updates seem to occur roughly every 2 years. So, I would expect some sort of update by summer, give or take 4 months or so.

I know this video is older, but I am just starting to learn this game and I feel like I disagree with your thoughts on Ghost Rider. Sure his card is really good but if you take it you're one card down is a valid set back, but I dont think its fair to say that means you can just ignore him. If you focus other characters hes gaining power and punishing you for those good rolls you get, hands out hexs, incinerate, and drains peoples power. Sure you KO a character (thats what i take Wong for). I'm not saying hes S or A. But if you think hes a C character it doesn't seem like hes being used correctly

As a Midnight Sons enjoyer I hope there are card updates coming down the pipeline but also there’s new art there for Chosen of Bast (who just came out) AND Werewolf by Midnight who is not even out yet. Haven’t been playing long enough to see new cards or anything but would they make changes this close to character releases?

This kind of mess deters me from getting too deep in this game. The cards are meant to be on the table top with you as you game for quick reference, but how can I do that with AM constantly changing the cards? Pay the $100+ to the Etsy seller for the updated cards or constantly having to check my phone for the apps with the information? I bought a Thanos kit and all the freaking gems are outdated! That’s ridiculous!! Is AM going to produce an updated card pack or do we have to live in constant app checking for “living” updates?

Yeah I think a character update is needed for many characters. Even some that were updated last time

I think they are repackaging to the new style so that would be the time to do it

Hopefully it's a character update, but it could still just be updated art for repackaged Midnight Sons and Convocation boxes. Good eye either way.

Great game! I am curious why Lizard with Modok. Modok seems to want more aggressive pieces.

Just a terrain question. At around 49:14. when SLDD attacks Lizard, Lizard is behind one of those pillars. Is the pillar considered separate terrain or is that whole thing one big terrain piece? Just curious if he should have gotten cover (if separate) or if its all considered one part, which he wouldn't have. Glad to see a solo play and having you talk through the decisions!

Been testing Abom with Loki2. Root and Poison could be very crippling for an enemy model

I think Abomination is fine but not great. Bill not being everywhere helps him a lot but Asgard being somewhat popular now will make his life hard. I think Mephisto is interesting and thematic. I'll have to play him a few times to really get a measure of how strong he is

When Mephisto gets 5 devils deal tokens and fires his beam you gotta say “I’m turning it up to 11!”

Mephisto cards with M.O.D.O.K. 'mind games' seems like a lot of fun -- so much opponent interaction through tactics cards, literally allowing them to pilot their own doom! Abom makes me rethink Omega Red, who gives out auto poison, also in CS. I am messing with Doc Ock and Kingpin combo list and I think he's a great Doc Ock splash character too, basically doubling down on Doc's leadership.

Would love to get an updated version of this with all of the changes to crisis/TTCs and new characters like Loki. Great stuff!

Agent venom is a must take for me because of Web Warriors. Drax is like a mini bill, just plop him on a point with his damage reduction and throw people off of it. Gamora being squishy doesn’t bother me much because I want characters to flip early enough for galaxy’s greatest to have some impact. For unaffiliated, Ghost Rider is really good if you take nebula and rocket with him, deal with the devil is very good. I also like Ebony Maw with the space gem. Gives the team a source of mystic attacks and has great pushes and throws. Shhh.. is also just a great tactic card. Rogue is also a good option if you don’t like Gamora. She has a charge, terrain and character throws, and damage reduction. Now that Research Stations is restricted, I think I like Brace more than patch up, but sacrifice is also worth a look if you run both 2 threats.

Plucky attitude also helps with demons downtown, he really doesn’t mind being incinerated since he gets to re-roll a complete miss. Should be a good target for mephisto’s leadership too, if agent venom gets dazed or isn’t taken for whatever reason.

Great video! I love playing Guardians in my casual games. I'd love to see an intro video/roster build for Asgardians! Especially with the new Mighty Thor/Loki box that released. Id be looking to using Beta-Ray Bill + that box 😊

On casual nights I've been playing with pure MODOK CS with Killmonger and Rhino as the core. The purpose of the list is to make use of priority or last-activation, whichever you may get. If you win priority, you pop off with Usurp the Throne. If you don't have priority, you use Robbery as a last activation play. MODOK can also give Rhino power by transferring attacks to him.
