- John and I discuss the Wakanda affiliation! With only 8 characters, but 4 leaders it's surprisingly complicated to rank this team. A couple of the placements surprised myself! We also discuss the associated team tactic cards and potential playstyles for Wakanda.

Great overview! Wakanda is really strong right now with the advanced r&d and spirit of Wakanda play. It feels like they are a turn ahead the whole game with that play.
I wanted to note a few things I was thinking about with some of the later tactics cards you brought up.
Bast's blessing, if you jabari chieftain or death's decree the attack and have og panther and Shuri for rerolls you can get the double wild up to a 43% chance. Still less than a coin flip but thought it was worth mentioning in case folks were feeling spicy
I agree with your take on synthetic heart-shaped herbs. In Wakanda you probably want to play it when Killmonger is low on health or flush with power. A few other places you could splash him to get it earlier with no penalty is winter guard and Asgard.
Really good call outs. I hadn’t even considered WG or Asgard with Killmonger, Usurper but that’s really nice. Doing all that to get Bast’s Blessing functional is probably not worth it, but it’s a cool card for game night
@@SyndicateGamingNerds Yeah I don't think it is worth all those resources to make Bast:a playable for sure, but for a fun gimmick to try in a casual game I would give it a go 😂
I was playing Wakanda against my friend’s Criminal Syndicate. He wanted to play Klaw and it was the first time I ever played Wakanda. He put M’Baku to 1 stamina and a lot of power so I Call of the Jabari and Usurp the Throne with Killmonger. I either dazed or KO’ed every single character on the enemy team. It was a bloodbath.
Great breakdown! Gonna have to pick up the King! Are you planning to do a similar breakdown for Spider-Foes when their new box drops?

So many people are misreading K'liluna's glory :) Everyone thinks it is a power steal (as in the target can end with less power than it had before the attack) but it needs to be said:
If you deal X damage with this, the target takes X damage and gets X power. Then if they get Dazed or KOd you get nothing.
If they do not get dazed or KOd, you take the X power they just gained and give it to someone else on your own team.
We are on very different sides with these! Old Panther is probably the least enticing of the 4’s in the list now. King T is too good for the list when combined with M Baku and all those dice the lost can generate with Jabari chieftain or usurp the throne. When you guys almost put Panther at S I was blown away! Great breakdown.
Asgard next ;) only 9 aff characters to rank :P
We’ve thought about it! But at this point we’ll probably hold out until the new Asgardians come out. I do really enjoy Asgard though…
Is this cute or viable? I was brainstorming a King T’Challa list and thought of Cyclops as a potential splash. The main idea is to turn on Field Commander with a turn one Spirit of Wakanda play.
So, I enjoy playing M'Baku, but I just do not have success with him. That two energy defense just hurts, and I feel like most people I play against are able to field a high-damage energy character.
Do you have any tips for using M'Baku well?
Honestly, I want Hunter to get a box aka White Wolf. They’ll probably use Bucky but I do want the adoptive brother to get some love. Probably as a three threat.
Also, it would be nice to have another Storm specifically for Wakanda. Maybe a 4 threat that pushes her opponents so she’ll have synergy with King T’Chala.
I like both of those ideas! Wakanda is such a cool affiliation and they definitely deserve more love
