“Professor X has some issues and the team needs to help him out a lot” really nailed the comics there haha
So I just ran X, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Gambit, and Hulkbuster, and Hulkbuster finally felt like a 6? Most of the power I funneled to him, threw him in the middle point, he dished tons of damage, and he redistributed the power back to the team as he was the focus of the attacks and used his defensive superpower every turn. Holy shit. Can I finally find a viable HB team with this!?
Not as crazy as most of the tech you were mentioning, but I've been searching for a way to make HB actually worth fielding and I'm just excited that Prof X unlocks his potential.
That sounds like a great time! Hulkbuster seems like a perfect fit. He has enough control to protect Professor X.
This might be the perfect team to re-summon the suit!! I’ve never seen it happen but this could be the team for it.
Thank you for going over this. I've only played a "brotherhood smash" team before. But Prof X and Nightcrawler has me looking at X Men. I needed someone to hold my hand and take through some of the potential

Great overview! I think his leadership is very interesting, similar to Blackbolt's in a lot of ways. He never uses telekinesis in the comics so I think that is why he doesn't have the same defensive tech against throws as Cassandra and Maw. That is probably why he ended up as a 4 instead of a 5 or 6. I agree that he should have been a short move. I did want to note one thing Cassandra's mind possession doesn't require her to damage the target to move it, but is the same in all other regards.
Wong is a great shout out for professor x. Another character I thought that would be good for him would be Ant Man. Also because he is a thing, CGR would also work well under professor X. He can be the first activation to fuel the team and they in turn can keep him juiced so he doesn't become sane.
Interesting. That’s probably why he doesn’t have a throw either. I considered talking about AntMan! He can get the power chain rolling and is hyper mobile. I isn’t don’t know if he’s a good character to activate first in the game, but I agree that he’s worth testing.
I am Groot, groot uses root for range 3 at 2 power.
I like it! Feeds into the power denial gameplan and Groot has that great throw and stagger to control the big boys
I love his design and his leadership is awesome! I just hope it doesn’t end up being too good.
It's funny, but Xavier is only a Level 5 / Alpha-level mutant. He is not an Omega-level mutant lol
Not to be a complete stickler but professor X is not quite on the same level as Magneto he's an alpha level mutant... It's nitpicky sure but saying that omegas need to be like six threat feels weird especially after we already know Iceman who's three threat. I don't know cool video 9.5 out of 10
To be clear, X is an omega telepath. Not an omega mutant.
I appreciate the correction! I’ve only read a handful of comics, so I was making assumptions on what was portrayed in the movies.
We see Charles give up his own life instead of fighting to his full capacity, so even if he is on a 6-threat level he won’t go that far
So, you mean to tell me at 20 threat, I play X with SR Thanos, Nightcrawler, Wong and Badger. Activate Wong, dump 2 power to Nightcrawler. He teleports Thanos, X, himself, and Badger up range 3. Thanos goes kidnaps their leader, claps them. Badger hits and X hits. Next turn clear stagger with Wong or children. NC should be flush on power to pop off top of 2.
Holy f. The kidnap + death decree + X rerolls + mass transit + Nightcrawler might break the game
Sounds about right! Building a squad entirely around Nightcrawler seems pretty good to me
