1st Gen Cummins W250 "Farm Truck" Walkaround
just a quick show and tell of my 1993 W250 I have been working on. Far from a "frame off" restoration but I've redone the brakes, clutch/pilot bearing, dash, guages, interior, lights, painted some things and added a few other small touches like the slats and high lift jack. it's been a fun daily driver and very useful truck.

Springfield Hellcat - The 9mm Double Stack That Fits In a Pocket!
If it was originally a dually, then it would have to be a 350. The 250’s didn’t come with a dual wheel rear end.
@jordanjones5865 that's what's so strange. The Vin definitely is for a 250, yet it has a dually rear axle. Perhaps someone swapped in a dually rear end and then later on it got converted back to single rear wheel via spacers and what not? Anything else I can look for that would distinguish a 250 vs 350?
Nice project!
I just bought a Humvee with that cluster in it. Any chance you know of an online source for the installation instructions you got? I want to look over mine and just make sure it’s good. Plus I’d like to see what’s involved in getting the turn signals to show. I didn’t even know that was a thing.
I totally wanna buy one of these hummves. How much work is really required in these trucks? Engine problems, modifications, mantince stuff, ext... yes full extremely detailed video! Please!
I found it odd that you refused to say what blow by is. I'm sure you have your reasons, but I don't know what they are. Engine blow-by is when combustion air and fuel leak through the piston rings into the crankcase, usually due to worn piston rings or a damaged cylinder wall. Check for it by removing the oil fill cap while the engine is running. Smoke coming out like it's an exhaust pipe equals blow by. I think I explained it faster than the time you spent saying you weren't going to explain it. Glad to help. 🙂
Here’s the thing dropping $6k on a jet ski for entertainment isn’t really in my best interest
It’s half of 2024. It’s no longer high end 😭
do you have experience with cooling issues on the 6.5l NA HMMWV? Water pump testing, flushing, etc?
Can you do this on 6.2?
We move everything from nw AM General's from Mishawaka, IN to chop shop at the government contractor at Tucson, AZ. My advice is if you can see the underside on a flatbed truck or lift to check wear, lube points, suspension joints, etc. I've got a unit on board right now that's leaking 3 types of fluid on a 700 mile haul out from Ogden to Bell, CA. Any truck driver with a flatbed or stepdeck tractor trailer can deliver. Ramps are a must if the buyer can't provide. As a commercial driver, I use this formula to meet my personal margin. Example: Milage ÷ ave fuel economy (5.5) x average trip fuel price x3 Current trip: 729÷5.5x4x3= $1590.55. This is the lowest possible margin the driver could do it for without taking a loss AND before a third party broker starts adding his percentage.
Get a diesel coolant heater …..also checkout camo tek for a replacement glow plug controller.
oooooo i want to daily one so bad, but they are expensive to get. My budget is only 6500 at the moment XD *crying internally*(im also okay with a barely running no roof beater to build off of). Super clean build man, im insanely jealous.
I did this mod just like you did with 1/8 turn and I’m getting a slight hint of black smoke when the pedal is down to the floor is yours doing this too?
@garageobsession2421 I would call mine more than a slight hint lol. If I'm going up a big hill with the pedal down it will pour out a decent amount. Nothing like a 12 valve Cummins but enough for the cars behind me to notice it. If yours is just a slight hint I probably wouldn't worry about it but you could always put in an EGT guage just to be sure.
I had a great experience, My truck came as described, started right up with fresh batteries. I won my Bid on June 5, transported to my door on June 13, received SF97 on June 20, had plates on it on June 25. 10/10 would buy more vehicles if I had the room
21k is still a whole lot when you can't finance it, and you need to do all the work yourself - what about all the tools and equipment?
Thanks for the truth about turning up the pump.. My pump has seen better days. So i will be having it rebuilt by Pensacola Diesel soon... I will be talking to them about turning it up slightly...As we here at FULLFORCE MARINE use our Humvee in our work.. Our Humvee is called into duty often...
Fix it so you don't have to this this guy is a moron
Just fix the damn thing
Most are not turbo. This idiot doesn't know much. Dont listen to him. Does not no what he's talking about. Probably doesn't know Dakota
Have u had ur sparks check engine come on the screen and loose powers then it go away and run fine then come back on again
Nice find…just picked up a 2003 M1097A2 2Door with Truck Body from GovPlanet and made it Street Legal in California thanks to the crew at Dirt Legal. Like to connect. By the way my truck only has 2,711 miles on it…pulled it out of Doyle, CA.
I'm inquiring about a solid truck for driving around town and to haul some home improvement items. My budget cannot afford a Ford Raptor. What about a key ignition so someone doesn't drive off with it? -North Texas.
I like the gun but the holster shoukdbt come out when you draw. Maybe look into a kydex hokster with a hook on bottom and top would help the draw with hokster staying in pocket. Great gun tho
how do you insure it, i could not get insurance for one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of these things would be an improvement over my CJ5
Thank You :)
I don't mean to sound like a pick-ass, but the American flag in your garage is not displayed correctly. The canton (the blue field with the stars) should be on the observers left. In other words, you should flip it around. I commend you for displaying our flag but there it should be done properly. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the advice!
do you have the foot pegs on that
No I do not, they actually are some what of a hindrance because you can shift body weight further back without them assuming you're relatively tall. I 6ft and can easily get my feet back to the end of the foot wells.
@@Kevin24Seven ok thanks i am about to buy a spark and put trim into it
How’s the fan for the aio mounted? Is it pulling air into the case or out?
Thanks for the great video. I'm in the St Louis area, too. Can I reach out to ask you about the whole registration process? I'm going to pick mine up next weekend.
Ypur my hero, How can I show you my H2?
I am here in 2024 and i will buy this case, thanks for uploading ....
I would say you go to Afghanistan and with a couple of grand you buy one chosen from hundreds left behind by our troops (courtesy of sleepy Joe) with shipment and everything you probably spend 6-8 grand including airfare and end up with a top of the line Humvee. (Don't show your US passport though)
This vehicle is majestic but has too many flaws, floor is not flat, not enough space for luxury seatings, no fine interior like jeep wrangler or ford bronco etc. All vehicle came and gone but this still people buy as H1 or Hmmwe. Unfortunately no any company came forward to mend these flaws.
Nice !!!
Make more of these
Will stick with my H2
Can the 3-speeds be swapped with the 3-speed w/ OD?
Just want to verify, when you say you need to touch ground to change the color. Do you need to pull the cluster to change them again or is the a way to push a button once installed?
I have the push button light switch. I can change color by pushing gauge brite )or something like that). I’m not sure how you would do it on this install.
Wouldnt take one of these trucks for free
I spent years in the US Airforce Driving the Up Armored M1116 HMMWV, The passenger mirror would never stay in place (sucked because i had to mainly drive it on the Highway, they was loud, they was undependable, They road hard, they was unconformable. If you was in the front passenger seat, the heat from the engine would almost burn your leg... I want one so bad for personal use.....
The reason why they leak is because they're supposed to be semi-submersible
Does the extended rear of the 3 up really make them faster, or just more stable?
I had a 850 4x4 for a little bit. Bought it for cheap and went through it. Essentially flipped it. Now I have my own piece of property and I would LOVE to have a 650 4x4 for mowing and snow removal. They're such nice compact tractors!
Best thing is to buy a complete as possible one and when you get it home pull the diesel, rebuild the tranny and stick a nicely built small block gas motor in it.....then get rid of 24 system and you will end up with a fun vehicle......
Your my hero
Get a bellyband and a g2c or g3c. Super super reliable 9mm compact with 12 rnd capacity but takes glock mags so you can get much bigger capacity. I currently carry a Sar B6C with me especially when im riding.
Nice find at a great price! I've been looking for something similar. I have a newer model with emisions garbage & seams im always adding fuel.
Did you need the hard top windshield or can a soft top windshield work for your hard top?
avoid buying a humbee :DD
