    Nice work, I’m also a fan of the stock wheels. It’s all I run on my HMMWV.. even threw a set on my squarebody.

      In my opinion they really suite these rigs well. I think powder coating some black would be cool.

    wrt to wheels, you can get OEM H1 wheels that have the correct offset and weight rating for the featherweight HMMWV's. You can get them in 17" which opens up your 40" tire selection greatly.

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  5 месяцев назад

      Ill look into them, hopefully they are on par with the Black Rhino price wise.

    I hope you used ceramic tint. Way more durable. When I did glass, I got the tinted glass - darkest allowed (no film tint needed)

      @Kevin24Seven  6 месяцев назад

      I did ceramic on the windshield and normal on the windows. That ceramic stuff aint cheap these days lol.

    That is an awesome build! It looks alot like mine. I found the slant door latch that locks doesn't work well at all in my experience anyway. You mentioned the turret support, Are you using the newer M1151 double leg to the A pillar version or the older M998 single leg version?
    I really like those headlights you have installed but I've been flashed by a few people because the beams even on low are super bright and are angled high

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  6 месяцев назад

      It appears I would be using the double leg to the A pillar version since there are two spots where there are 4 holes for mounts on the A pillar. I think in the meantime I will just try and find a passenger side turret support (sadly you can't just use a driver side and re-drill because of the bend as far as I understand it) and then fab up a single cross bar to server as a B pillar and connect the two side supports. Should theoretically be about the same strength as an OEM soft top setup and its pretty difficult to roll a Humvee anyways.

    • @ZyzyxHumvees
      @ZyzyxHumvees 6 месяцев назад +1

      @Kevin24Seven It's very hard to roll a humvee indeed. Let me know if you need a better look at my turret support. I have a short on it sorta

      @@ZyzyxHumvees Thanks! If you can give me a lead on the passenger side b pillar supports I would high appreciate it as well! Seems they are hard to find now.

    I remember the video when Steve was explaining the doors, I thought he mentioned those windows were the 3/8 polycarbonate? If they are did you use standard film? From what I read polycarbonate needs a very specific film.

    • @Kevin24Seven

      I'm not sure tbh. I had them professionally tinted and I think the guy did a good bit of research on them and seemed to really know his stuff. At this point though using the wrong tint for a certain type of glass would rank probably #87 on the list of most clapped out things on this rig so I'm not too worried hahaha.

    • @benjilacombe7478
      @benjilacombe7478 6 месяцев назад +1

      @Kevin24Seven Reason I asked is I also have the poly windows and would like to tint them. Maybe later you can let us know how their holding up. Probably keeping it garaged is gonna help a lot on longevity.

    Truck is looking great. I've been watching the auctions and trying to find trucks that I think are worth bidding on. Do you think I should be looking for turbo, or is non-turbo (with Overdrive) preferable? The condition of these trucks is pretty horrendous most of the time....is your opinion that the parts are all available to make them whole again, so I should focus on an intact body and clean/running engine?

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  6 месяцев назад

      In my personal experience buying two different trucks now the M1123 non turbos have been the best condition and most reasonable price. Anything factory turbo, hard top, or both usually look completely used up and they go for a ton of money as well. I wouldn't ever get an M998 either for many reasons but the biggest being no overdrive.

    Do yourself a favor and stay away from wire taps or scotch locks it will cause nothing but problems down the road. Not trying to be that guy. Just trying to save u the headaches. Great videos keep it up

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  6 месяцев назад +1

      Its a very simple system and I'm the guy who put them in so not worried about it. If I was doing this truck up for someone else, I would probably hard solder everything. If I have to re-do a camera connection every few years I don't mind tbh. Would be a different story if I was doing a critical electrical component.

    Body lift? Use hockey pucks.

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  6 месяцев назад +1

      I ordered mine from Mikellis body lifts. Custom cut each piece for the Humvee and only $76. I think it's actually cheaper than hockey pucks believe it or not.
